Pirate’s Achievements System - Chapter 8
Chapter 8: Objectives
At the time when Ron and Nami were arguing, the boat had left the Conomi Islands, where Cocoyasi village was located, and gradually went deep into the vast sea.
The shadow of Cocoyasi village could no longer be seen from the rear. Looking around, the sea was vast and boundless, surrounding the boat from all directions.
It was at that point that a system sound rang in Ron’s ear.
[Tip: you have accomplished a task (first time to sea) and gained 1 point of achievement]
Ron has been waiting for this achievement to be completed. He thought that he would get it as soon as he left the island. Yet, he couldn’t get the new achievement point until the village’s shadow faded away.
Without a second thought, Ron directly added the 1 achievement point to his spiritual attribute.
Ron felt a relatively clear change after the increase of his spiritual attribute by 1 point. He thought and deduced that following this upgrade of 1 point, his current total spiritual attribute should be about 14 points.
It didn’t sound like a big deal, but as the mental attribute of ordinary people was only around 3 or 4 points, Ron’s current spiritual power was three or four times more than a normal person.
At the time when Ron raised his spiritual attribute, Nami had a strange feeling. She always felt that Ron’s eyes seemed a bit brighter.
The ensuing dispute ended in Ron’s victory.
After Ron came up with an age difference argument, Nami was already defeated. No matter how she refuted, she could not change the fact that she was only 14 years old.
What’s more, in the course of refutation, she tried to mislead Ron several times and tried to make him give up, but all in vain. Thanks to his quick-thinking, Ron could keep up with her every time, he was so convincing.
That surprised Nami a little. She didn’t expect Ron to be smarter than he seemed.
Keeping up with Nami was a trivial thing for Ron. His improvement of spiritual attributes was not just for the use of magic. The spirit also represents the soul, thinking and wisdom. The stronger the spirit is, the faster the thoughts rush to his mind.
Otherwise, relying on the speed of ordinary human thinking, how could it be possible to release fourth-level magic that requires 27 runes combination, or the legendary fifth-level magic that involves 81 runes?!
Studying all the combinations of nine runes could easily consume an ordinary person’s lifetime!
Of course.
Ron didn’t like the thought of using wisdom to solve this kind of problems, especially when he had the power, there was no doubt that it will be more convenient to use magic to solve them. If he encountered any trouble, legendary fifth-level magic would simply smash it down! And the whole world would be quiet again!
…
It was a long journey at the sea.
Because Nami had only a dhow boat, there was no cabin nor a kitchen, only dried food and freshwater stored in advance of the trip were available.
Although Nami could always perfectly avoid all the bad weather and ocean currents, but they couldn’t escape the ups and downs brought by the rolling waves.
Ron has never been to the sea in his previous life. Yet, He realized that he was fortunate to have a strong mental power to suppress all the dizziness caused by the sea.
And over time, he gradually adapted to sailing at sea.
In addition to the torture of the tides, Ron could only eat from the stored dried food and freshwater, on top of that, he had Nami next to him.
Although Ron knew that the spooky Lolita (T/N: Japanese, attractive young girl) must have put on all kinds of defenses, she seemed like she was sleeping beside him defenselessly.
To this end, Ron could only keep reciting on the five-word mantra in his mind ‘I am not a lolicon’ to resist tenaciously.
Fortunately, Ron also could use meditation. In the meditative state, his spirit was in a state that gets rid of basic emotions and makes him feel empty, although he could sense the outside world.
But hardly any interference.
During the trip, Ron spent most of his time practicing meditation.
He didn’t practice the wind blade again, because his proficiency has reached a certain level that additional training would show an only small improvement. On the contrary, it was so important to improve his spiritual attributes.
Only by the improvement of the spiritual attributes, his speed of thinking could get faster. Hence, his speed of constructing runes would be faster. The two corresponded to each other.
The boat drifted for four days on the sea.
Because Ron didn’t get off the ship, Nami didn’t stop by a near island, but went straight to the largest nearby island town.
It was the largest, but in fact, it was only a medium-sized island compared to islands that can accommodate a country.
However, because there was only this medium-sized island nearby, as a core area of many small islands, it was also a prosperous trading city that even had a marine base stationed there.
Somewhere on the island.
Nami hid by the wall, carefully peeped out her head, and glanced at a medium-sized boat docked not far from the coast.
It was a pirate ship. Ron didn’t recognize its flying flag. It should be a very small group of pirates in the East Blue. As an estimate, the whole ship had a dozen of people.
Nami set that pirate ship as her next target.
Although it was much easier to steal the money from common people, Nami wouldn’t do it. The poorer a person was, the less she would touch. For her, those people were in the same condition as her. She would only steal the treasures of pirates, or nobles, of the decadent and evil.
Although this would take a lot of risks, there was no doubt that the pirates had more treasures than common people. In case of success, she would gain a lot without a single feeling of regret or remorse.
Ron also targeted the same pirate ship.
However, his goal was a little more than Nami. Besides robbing those filthy pirates, he intended to take advantage of the situation to accomplish new achievements.
After four days wandering on the sea, he practiced meditation for nearly sixty hours that his spiritual attributes improved by almost 2 points, which has reached about 16 points.
The pirate ship could correspond to too many achievements. In addition to treasure collection tasks, there were also “Get a ship”, “First Battle”, “Kill a Pirate” and so on.
If it went well, there was a chance of completing 10 achievements.
In that way, Ron’s spiritual attributes could be promoted to more than 20 points smoothly, to steady move towards 30 points.
For Ron, 20 points of spiritual attributes were the minimum required in order to start studying second-level magic. With 30 points of spiritual attributes?! He was sure to master the second-level magic.
And by mastering second-level magic, he would have the capability to kill Arlong, and to wander freely in this area of the East Blue exploring more the achievement points!
