Pika Pika No Mi In Marvel - Chapter 35
Chapter 35: The One Who Should Become a Warrior is Me
M.G.F Chapter 35: The One Who Should Become a Warrior is Me
As Professor X spoke, his gaze toward Yu Feng carried a hint of admiration and astonishment.
This admiring and astonished look stemmed from his previous focus on Yu Feng, primarily due to the positive and optimistic influence Yu Feng had on Jean. Yu Feng helped Jean feel less lonely and isolated, and Professor X hoped that with Yu Feng’s assistance, Jean could truly integrate into their group and later into society.
However, now his attention gradually shifted toward Yu Feng’s abilities.
Just the fact that Yu Feng could help Jean control her own power was incredible.
Professor X even thought that Jean’s ability to no longer fear her own power and instead control it might have been initially due to Yu Feng’s influence!
Hank, too, became more interested in Yu Feng’s abilities.
As a top scientist, he was extremely curious about the special light generated by Yu Feng. Not to mention the peculiar property of being able to penetrate doors and walls, which tempted him to study it further.
Although their interest in Yu Feng grew, they didn’t disturb him too much or ask too many questions. After Yu Feng finished explaining, they let him and Jean go back.
Yu Feng found this slightly unexpected, but he quickly understood.
Perhaps Professor X wanted him not to think too much about it.
After all, if you suddenly show a heightened interest in a seven or eight-year-old child, constantly asking questions and trying to dig deep into their abilities, it would undoubtedly frighten them.
Professor X, being well-versed in education, naturally wouldn’t do such a thing.
This made Yu Feng a little amused and exasperated.
As a Transmigrator, Yu Feng wouldn’t be scared by Professor X and Hank.
He knew very well who Professor X and Hank were.
He actually wanted to discuss his abilities with Professor X and Hank, and ideally, have Hank develop some special tools to train his abilities. For example, machines similar to the ones used by the Flash to train speed, which could also test how fast he truly was. Or some special devices that could control light. Or even high-tech methods to assist him in combat training and more.
His initial intention in getting close to Hank was to use Hank’s help to develop and train his Glint Fruit ability. And as an experienced professor, Professor X would surely be able to provide some guiding advice on his abilities.
Progress would be limited if he closed himself off and relied solely on himself.
It would be beneficial to have more exchanges with Professor X and Hank, who could be considered “hall-of-fame mentors” among mutants, regarding the use of his abilities.
And more importantly, Yu Feng had absolute trust in these two.
If he couldn’t trust them in the Marvel world, there would hardly be anyone he could trust.
However, he couldn’t say this outright at the moment. He could only take Jean and leave first, preparing to rest for a while before engaging in photon assimilation training with her later.
“Charles, what do you think?”
After watching Yu Feng and Jean leave, Hank turned to Professor X and suddenly said,
“Although more and more ordinary people are accepting mutants now, there are also more people targeting mutants. While Trask Industries has fallen and the government has terminated the Sentinel robot program, our situation as mutants is still far from optimistic. With Yu and Jean’s abilities, it’s only a matter of time before they attract the attention of certain individuals.”
Professor X fell silent.
Since the incident in Washington, mutants had become well-known to the world. But as more people became aware of the unique characteristics of mutants, although many accepted them, there were still more who saw mutants as a threat, or even as weapons!
While Trask Industries had been defeated, countless other antagonistic forces targeting mutants continued to emerge.
The more powerful the mutant, the more likely they would be targeted by these forces.
“Hank, I know what you want to say, but what the school needs now are students, not warriors,” Professor X said, his gaze slightly focused. “Our job is to do our best to teach these children how to control and utilize their abilities so that they can live like ordinary people when they enter society. It doesn’t necessarily mean they have to showcase their abilities.”
Hank sighed at his words.
“Charles, I know you hold hope for humanity, but don’t you make any contingency plans?” Hank asked.
Professor X didn’t reply.
Instead, he took out a card from his pocket. It was half gold and half red, with an appearance that exuded luxury and nobility. In the center of the card was a skull emblem that looked as if it were inverted, surrounded by intricate patterns resembling tentacles.
This card was the VIP card that Alex used to enter the underground mutant fighting arena.
“Hmm?”
Hank looked at it with confusion and subconsciously said, “Charles…”
“Hank, I understand what you mean,” Professor X suddenly said. “The future is unpredictable, and human ambition will never change. In the mind of that ‘Logan,’ I saw many terrifying things about the future. Although the government has terminated the Sentinel program, we will still face various challenges in the future. I know the significance of establishing the X-Men for the future.”
“However, at this stage, I don’t want these children to bear all of that. They are still just children, and what they need is to be good students and integrate into the lives of ordinary people.”
“They don’t need to become warriors.”
“The one who should become a warrior is me.”
