Chapter 30: The Serum Named “Antidote”

“Mysterious substance?!”

Yu Feng was slightly startled. It was obvious that the “mysterious substance” Flash mentioned referred to the serum in Hank’s hands.

But didn’t Flash remind him when they were barely 300 meters away last time? Why did the reminder only come now when Hank took out the serum?

Flash quickly explained, “The ‘mysterious substance’ in this serum contains a relatively weak special power, and it is kept in cold storage, which suppresses its activity. That’s why it was initially difficult to sense.”

“I see,” Yu Feng thought. “So, that means the stronger the activity of the ‘mysterious substance,’ the greater the sensing distance?”

“Correct,” Flash responded, sparking some contemplation in Yu Feng.

Therefore, they might not provide significant help in enhancing his abilities.

Encountering one now was indeed a stroke of great luck for him.

“By the way, Hank said the purpose of this serum is to suppress the effects of mutant genes on one’s appearance. So, could this serum be the same one that Hank created using Mystique’s blood during the first battle?!”

In the first battle, both Mystique and Hank were greatly concerned about their appearances.

Mystique didn’t want to transform into the strange blue appearance, while Hank despised his huge and monstrous feet.

Therefore, Hank wanted to utilize Mystique’s genetic transformation secrets to create a serum specifically designed to suppress the influence of mutant genes on appearance.

However, he never expected that instead of suppressing his mutant genes, the serum enhanced them, transforming Hank himself into the blue monster he was today—the Beast.

Hank prepared two serums in total, one for himself and one for Mystique.

However, Mystique, influenced by Magneto, no longer cared about her appearance and rejected the serum. So the serum Hank took out now should be the one Mystique originally refused.

“So, does that mean the reason this serum can become a ‘mysterious substance’ is because of Mystique’s genes?”

Yu Feng’s eyes flickered slightly.

Hank continued to explain, “Initially, I named this serum the ‘Antidote,’ but unfortunately, it didn’t actually suppress mutant genes; instead, it enhanced them.”

Shaking his head, Hank couldn’t help but sigh.

“Hank, can I take a look at this serum?” Yu Feng suddenly spoke up, a curious expression on his face.

“Of course,” Hank smiled and handed the serum over to him.

Yu Feng caught it.

In that instant of holding it, he felt a chilling sensation. He was about to ask Flash how he should absorb this serum, which was considered a “mysterious substance,” when he suddenly noticed the surroundings darkening. He had automatically entered his own digitized genes dimensional space.

Simultaneously, Flash appeared before him in her form as “Jean,” grabbing the syringe containing the serum from Yu Feng’s hand.

Whoosh!

Countless golden rays of light suddenly illuminated the surroundings. In the next moment, Yu Feng witnessed the serum completely disappearing at a visible speed, completely merging into the golden flash.

“This…”

His consciousness quickly returned to reality. Yu Feng hastily looked at the syringe in his hand and was slightly astonished to find that the serum was still inside.

It was still there?

Wasn’t the serum supposed to have vanished just now?

“The digitized genes only absorb the special energy contained in the ‘mysterious substance’ and don’t directly absorb physical matter,” Flash answered aptly.

Since it had been fully absorbed, the serum no longer had any use for Yu Feng, and its function as a serum was likely completely nullified.

Casually observing the situation, he saw Jean looking curiously at the serum. He handed it over to her.

Meanwhile, Hank continued to explain the general research process of this “Antidote” serum, providing Yu Feng and Jean with a preliminary understanding of genetic experiments.

After explaining some introductory points and key aspects of genetic research, Hank proceeded to explain the design and manufacturing of the Blackbird aircraft.

An hour passed unknowingly during the teaching session.

The lesson ended quickly.

Hank began attending to his own affairs, leaving Yu Feng and Jean free to allocate their time as they pleased.

Jean didn’t possess Yu Feng’s ability to learn at the speed of light, so she needed ample time to study some basic knowledge. She happily took Yu Feng’s hand and marched off to the library.

Yu Feng, on the other hand, was more carefree.

His main focus was still on experiencing which aspect of himself had become stronger. After pondering for a long time, he felt that the activity of the photons in his transformed body had increased slightly.

Apart from that, he hadn’t made any other discoveries.

“I suppose this ‘Antidote’ serum probably enhances the power of my photon attacks, right?” he contemplated.

Just as he was thinking that, Jean, who had already naturally taken hold of Yu Feng’s hand, suddenly…

Whoosh!

A dazzling burst of golden light erupted.

In the next moment, to Yu Feng’s astonishment, Jean’s entire body transformed into an elemental form, becoming a photon-like entity!
