Chapter 25: SHIELD’s Invitation

Wesley and his father were now waiting for each other’s designs. Once it was clear that they were leaving New York to meet Carlos’s friends and start new training at the same time. Although he was no longer an assassin, Wesley wanted to train. After all, his skills were his own, and Carlos would naturally meet his son’s needs.
When they were both downstairs, Wesley looked at the Chevy Camaro. “It’s almost time for this car. It’s a wonder we drove him to New York. I want to sell it for a better one. And you need a car.”
“Whatever you say,” Carlos said indifferently. He didn’t have any aspirations.
They were about to get into the car when two black Chevrolet Suburbans, one in front of the other, squeezed their car into the middle. Wesley and Carlos watched them calmly as a group of men in suits got out. They did not approach the two of them, but vaguely surrounded them in the middle, some distance away.
“Don’t be nervous, I just want to talk to you.” A short guy with a lot of hair came over. Wesley knew who he was. Phil Coulson, a senior agent of SHIELD. What level was he again?
“It’s not that we’re nervous, but you’re too nervous. Since you came to us, you should know what we do. I hope you can get straight to the point. These people are really not enough,” Wesley said indifferently. He has the right to be arrogant now. Even if you are Phil Coulson, I don’t necessarily have to pay attention to you.
“Yes, we are indeed a little nervous. Why don’t we talk somewhere else? I’ll take your car.” Phil Coulson said with a smile. He is a gentle man. If he changes his clothes, you may not think that he is an agent, and his position in the Avengers is very special.
“Let’s go. It’s noon. I’ll buy you a meal.” Wesley opened the door and sat in the driver’s seat. Carlos opened the door on the other side and put the passenger seat down and sat in the back. Phil Coulson naturally sat in the passenger seat and then pressed the headset and said, “You can evacuate.”
The two Chevrolet Suburbans started up and drove away. Wesley turned the steering wheel and the car drove out and then drove away.
“Have you been watching us, or the Assassin Brotherhood?” Wesley asked as he drove.
“Not bad,” Phil admitted.
“Electronic devices used?” Wesley asked again.
“Clever.” Phil kept smiling. Wesley can imagine that if you want to spy on the assassin, you can’t follow him. Only electronic devices can. Otherwise, how many people in Divine Shield can die? Even if the two sides go to war, SHIELD, which currently has no superheroes, will suffer heavy losses. Moreover, there is Hydra as a mole. They won’t let go of this opportunity to eliminate dissidents.
“Why do you want us to join? Oh, right, my father retired. If you want to find someone, you can only find me,” Wesley reminded them.
“It’s really a pity. Mr. Carlos Gibson is a top-notch assassin, but since he’s retired, he should enjoy life.” Phil’s words directly confirmed that Carlos was not required to join, and Wesley was communicating with Apple.
“Should I join?” Wesley asked Apple.
“I can’t give a conclusion.” Apple was as powerless as ever. “However, the Tesseract is an energy body. I don’t know if it will help me after contact.”
Apple’s words tempted Wesley. It was very difficult to rely on himself to help Apple level up, but if the Tesseract could do it, then the speed would be quite fast. But he had just joined, could he make contact? Was Captain America resurrected? These were unknowns, but now that he saw hope, did he need to risk it?
The car drove to the hotel and parked directly in the parking lot outside. Then the three of them got out and went straight into the restaurant. “Anything you want.” Wesley ordered steak, pasta, cake, seafood soup, and beer. The waiter looked at him strangely, and Wesley glared at him. “Have you never seen a country person?”
The waiter retreated in defeat. They were staying in a five-star hotel. Phil asked for a normal price, and Carlos had his own eating habits.
“How about joining SHIELD?” Phil asked.
“You didn’t even say what you do and you want me to join?” Wesley glanced at Phil.
“I can’t say that. It’s confidential. I can only know after I join.”
“Are you sure you can only say it after joining? Or is our strength too ordinary and dispensable?” Wesley smiled strangely. He was very familiar with SHIELD, and it was too difficult to fool him.
“He is indeed a top assassin, although you have just entered the industry.”
“Wrong. I’m not an assassin. I’m just an ordinary person who was forced to join and finally eliminated evil with my father.” Wesley said it in a dignified manner, but this is the truth. It’s just that the method of accumulating wealth in the process is more thorough.
“I can only tell you that S.H.I.E.L.D. is the agency responsible for Earth security, that’s all.” Wesley is different from Tony Stark. They are fighting for Stark because he has the Iron Man Armor, and Wesley is only a few times better than ordinary people.
“I understand. I can join, but I need some time. My training is not completed yet. The past is just a crash course.”
“Yes, and you have to train as an agent after you enter.”
“There’s no problem with that. Who would complain that they have learned too little, especially since the Assassin Brotherhood is too primitive. The latest equipment applications are basically nonexistent. They actually use their phones to record the passwords of their bank accounts. Do you know what that means?”
‘They don’t spend money, or they don’t often come out and spend it.’
“Clever.” The result was a happy ending. Wesley had to get close to Tesseract, and Phil got a powerful colleague. After the meal, the three of them separated.
It was only then that Carlos asked, “Why would you want to join?” Carlos thought Wesley had joined because of him. After all, being an assassin was not a profession that could be seen.
“Don’t think too much about it. It’s not just for you. I’m really interested. I don’t like a dull life. Even if I have a lot of money, it’s just a number. It’s meaningless. Isn’t it good to join this kind of secret agent organization? Help us clean up our tail. They will know what to do.” Wesley smiled.
