Chapter 214: The Powerful Wesley
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
Elliot Randolph went back to being a professor. He liked life on Earth, and Wesley had no intention of sending him back to the Realm of the Gods. However, it was impossible to let him go. He became a consultant to SHIELD.
That’s right, another consultant, and a secret one at that, specifically against the consultant of Phil Coulson’s team. He would help if necessary, and there was little point in that. He chose to compromise with Wesley.
Jazz’s identity was very useful because Elliot Randolph knew that the result of being sent back to the Divine Realm was unacceptable to him. Even if he was not convicted, he would need to become a stonemason again and be mocked by others. He was a deserter.
“There’s another mission.” Phil Coulson didn’t let Wesley and others take time off because he received another mission, a strange mission. A female doctor seemed to suddenly have superpowers, and everyone who was hostile to her would be attacked inexplicably. After receiving the mission, the plane took off again.
Wesley, on the other hand, was relieved. He had waited a long time for this mission because the criminal was caught between two worlds, and he had a strong interest in it, especially after he had the space gem. He wanted to try and see if he could rescue him. Such a thing was beyond his reach, and it was very beneficial for his study of the space gem, but he remained calm and developed an ambiguous relationship with Sky.
The group arrived at the target’s house, but it was surrounded by a lot of people. The police had been dispatched and they were looking for the target. The target, Hannah Hutchins, was at the door being questioned by the police.
After getting out of the car, they showed their IDs and walked straight over. Phil Coulson said to the leading police officer, “Can I trouble you to evacuate them?”
“It’s been evacuated, but we’re a free country,” the sheriff said.
Wesley frowned and then said, “Freedom doesn’t mean they can surround other people’s houses. Evacuate them now, or you can take off your police uniform.” Wesley’s eyes were cold. He had always scoffed at the idea of a ‘free country.’ It was just a trick to fool people.
The sheriff glared at Wesley and wanted to say something, but he gave in in the end, because guys in black suits and ties were not to be trifled with, including FBI, CIA, and other intelligence agencies. The police in the United States were not guaranteed jobs. They were all hired. Even a bureau chief could fire him, so he had to take people to evacuate. And there was the next police officer here. Wesley looked at him and said, “You go to work too. We’ll take over here.”
The reason why all of these police officers were transferred away was that they had not dealt with similar things before. They were still ordinary people. Even if it was an ordinary gun battle, they would be extremely nervous. Leaving them behind would only make things worse.
“Well done, Wesley,” Phil Colson said.
“You’re too gentle. It’s not appropriate to involve these police officers in special events. They’re no different from ordinary people. They’ll only make things worse. Now let’s see Miss Hannah Hutchins.”
The two of them came to Hannah Hutchins and Phil Coulson introduced himself. “Miss Hutchins, I’m Agent Coulson. We specialize in strange events, similar to what happened to you.”
“Are you going to lock me up?” Hannah Hutchins said in a choked voice.
Wesley felt that she was very unstable and that she was probably frightened, so he said, “No, we’re here to help you. If you have some special abilities, then we need to help you master them and control them. You have to know that this is your ability, and you can’t let it get out of control. If it’s not your ability, then I need to find out what caused this situation. I don’t think you want to be entangled in such a strange thing, do you?” Wesley’s voice was gentle.
Hannah Hutchins nodded in agreement, and Wesley said again, “Let’s go inside and talk. We’ll leave after the crowd outside has been evacuated. After all, there’s no equipment. We need to do some physical tests on you to see if you have superpowers. Can you come in and sit down?”
At this moment, the crowd still hadn’t dispersed. The sheriff was trying to persuade them when a man threw a fruit at Hannah Hutchins and hit the door with a bang.
“Please get out of here,” the man said. Wesley was a little angry at that time and strode over. He grabbed the man’s collar with one hand and threw it on the ground. Then he grabbed his arm and put it behind his back. Then he turned back to the sheriff and said, “If you don’t have the ability to evacuate them, then you don’t have to do it. Now cuff him. I don’t need to tell you what the charges are, right?”
Wesley’s tough move seemed to have provoked the people around him. They began to move closer to Wesley. The police rushed to intercept them, and Wesley took out his pistol. He did not have a good impression of the American, Wesley. “We are attached to the special department, and we now ask you to disperse immediately. Otherwise, we can arrest you according to the regulations and shoot you if necessary. Does anyone want to try?”
The black muzzle of the gun pointed at them. Everyone who wanted to cause trouble was frightened. Someone shouted, “We are American citizens. This is our right.”
Wesley raised his gun and fired two shots into the sky. “Your rights do not include surrounding other people’s homes, nor do you have the right to hinder our actions. If this happens again, I will arrest you. Now, do you still want to shout?”
The person who had just shouted stopped talking and the crowd began to disperse. Wesley then pointed at the sheriff and said, “You don’t have to do it anymore. We will send a notice to your police station. You didn’t fully cooperate with our operation. If your chief dares to cover for you, then he will have the same result as you.”
Wesley put his gun away and returned to the door again. Phil Coulson looked at him in surprise. “You’re very angry today. Did something happen?”
“No, but I’m just showing you how to deal with uncooperative officers and people who affect the operation. We have regulations. These regulations are not for show. You’re too gentle.” Wesley then said to Hannah Hutchins, “Okay, Miss Hutchins, let’s go in and take a rest. We’ll leave when there’s no one outside. Now you need to drink some water to calm your emotions.”
Hannah Hutchins looked at Wesley’s series of actions in surprise. She was so stunned that she had no time to feel sorry for herself. Dazed, she led them into the room and sat down in the living room. Wesley took the initiative to pour her a glass of water and then sat opposite, carefully observing his surroundings. He was looking for the person caught in the space gap.
