Chapter 153 The Deadlock Outside the Operating Room

“Huan, what happened to Xi?”
Wen Zeyu and Rong Ying were confused by the development of events. They could only run after Qin Jinhuan who did not take heed of them. Once in the car, Qin Jinhuan ordered Huang Bo to head toward the Workers’ Hospital.
However, soon after, Qin Jinhuan felt that something was off. He immediately called Weng Yun to check the direction of the ambulance sent by Qin Wentao to take Qin Chengxi.
“Are you suspecting that they did not send Xi to the Workers’ Hospital?” Wen Zeyu who had followed into the car expressed his surprise. “Even though Xi is out of danger, he is still weak and has to be warded for continuous medical attention. How could they bring him home rashly?”
Qin Jinhuan said gloomily, “They probably did not bring Xi home.”
“Oh, really? Right, they have to hide Xi somewhere else. Hmph, I don’t care where they hide him because we will find Xi anyway.” Now that Qin Jinhuan was personally on the case, Wen Zeyu felt more confident.
“They’re not planning to hide Xi.”

“Where are you now?”

“Let Zijun send you home.”
“I want to get updates on Xi.”
“Go home first. I’ll inform you if there’s any updates.”

“If you don’t go home, I will not search for Xi.”
“I’ll go home! I’ll go home right now. Please figure out a way to get to him!” Although she was threatened again, she did not get angry at all.
“Alright.” Right then, Weng Yun’s call came in, so Qin Jinhuan briefly reminded Mu Yu to call him when she was home and hung up on her. He took the call from Weng Yun next.
“Boss, the ambulance that the Old Master sent for Young Master Xi is from the Workers’ Hospital. I have run a check and found out that the ambulance went southward instead of going back to the Workers’ Hospital. As of now, I could not determine its exact location. I’m still working on that.”
“Continue the investigation. We must find them.” After Qin Jinhuan ended the call, he ordered Weng Yun to drive toward the south of the city.
“Southward… Surgery… Hospital…” Piecing the puzzle, Rong Ying’s eyes suddenly lit up. “Huan, there’s a private hospital at the south of the city. The president of the hospital, Pengyi, is a distant relative of Dong Yueyun. Do you think that they’d bring Xi to that hospital for surgery?”
Qin Jinhuan swiftly turned his head. “Where is the exact location of that hospital?”
“It’s southward in Nanshan City. It’s called Pengyi Care Hospital.”
“To Pengyi Care Hospital,” Qin Jinhuan ordered Huang Bo before calling Cheng Xiang to bring some men over to Pengyi Care Hospital in Nanshan City.
“I hope we will make it in time.” Wen Zeyu prayed while panting.
“If he is really at Pengyi Care Hospital, we can definitely make it. A surgery cannot be completed in such a short time. The time needed to administer the anesthetic should be enough to delay his surgery until our arrival,” Rong Ying commented.
“He’s definitely at Pengyi Care Hospital. The type of surgery that Xi has to undergo needs absolute secrecy. Without a certain level of trust in the network, Dong Yueyun would not have taken the risk. I’ll need to check the location of the operating room in Pengyi Care Hospital so that we can head straight to it. No time shall be wasted!” Wen Zeyu suggested while he took out his phone to check the information of Pengyi Care Hospital.
At that moment, Qin Jinhuan received a call from Huang Bo, who sounded really excited, “Boss, just like you have predicted, the ambulance is parked at Pengyi Care Hospital.”
“Are you sure?”

Qin Jinhuan ended the call and phoned Cheng Xiang again to remind him to rush to Pengyi Care Hospital as soon as possible.

“We are going to exit the city soon,” Huang Bo reminded them from the driver’s seat. “The road in front will be bumpy, so sit tight.”
Wen Zeyu responded, “No problem. You just need to keep the speed up and send us to the hospital as fast as you can.”
“Sure.” Upon getting the green light, Huang Bo stepped on the accelerator at the same time.
The country roads had significantly fewer cars. Moreover, it was midnight, so there were hardly any other vehicles on the road which allowed Huang Bo to cover the twenty-kilometer journey within ten minutes.
“That’s the place!” Rong Ying got out of the car first. She wanted to barge in, but was caught on the shirt by Wen Zeyu. “Ying, don’t go in. Just wait here.”
Rong Ying refused to listen. “No! I want to go in with all of you!” Seeing that Qin Jinhuan had entered the hospital, she wanted to free herself from Wen Zeyu even more badly, but he kept her from moving. “It’s very dangerous there!”
“I don’t have anything to be scared of when you are by my side!”
“No! I cannot let you take the risk!”

On their way here, Qin Jinhuan received yet another call from Huang Bo, whose nurse cousin made up an excuse to visit the operating room and found that the doors were shut tightly besides being guarded by four to five men who looked like bodyguards. They refused to let anyone in and faint screams were heard from inside the room. That was how they managed to confirm Xi’s location.
“Let’s go.” Mu Yu swiftly moved in front of Wen Zeyu and the others as she sped into the hospital. Bian Zijun ran after her as Rong Ying freed herself from Wen Zeyu’s grasp to run into the hospital.
“Yu! Ying! Gosh, do you guys even know where the operating room is? Let me show you the way!” While running, Wen Zeyu pointed out the direction to them.
The operating room was on the second floor at the end of the corridor. Mu Yu and the rest ran up to the operating room from the stairs. Right when they were one turn away from a corner, they heard Dong Yueyun’s piercing scream. It sounded like a conflict had broken out, so they immediately hurried over the corner to see a crowd gathering at the end of the corridor.
Panting, Mu Yu ran over but as she was not as tall as the people blocking her way, she could not get a good look at the inside of the operating room. Feeling worried, she shouted out to Qin Jinhuan in front of her.
The men in front immediately turned and once they recognized Mu Yu, they split to the side to make way for her. She ran straight to Qin Jinhuan and nervously stared at Qin Wentao and Dong Yueyun who were standing across them while looking furious. Behind them stood Dong Wanqing.
Qin Jinhuan pulled Mu Yu to his back as he glared at Qin Wentao and Dong Yueyun coldly. “Get out of my way.”
“This is our family’s matter. It’s none of your business! Get lost!” Although Dong Yueyun’s voice was shrill, one could hear the fear in it. When she yelled, she dared not look at Qin Jinhuan in his eyes.
“Aunt Yueyun, just let it be,” Dong Wanqing timidly tugged at Dong Yueyun’s sleeve and advised her weakly, “If Xi is reluctant, why don’t you…”
A loud sound was heard as Dong Yueyun landed a slap on Dong Wanqing’s cheek. She glared at the latter and bellowed, “You little whore! I’ll get to you later. Get lost!”
Tears filled Dong Wanqing’s eyes as she covered her face and went shivering in a corner. Qin Jinhuan was oblivious toward the argument between the two women and repeated his words glumly, “Get out of my way!”
“No! I won’t!” Dong Yueyun’s trembling voice exposed her fear once again. Losing patience, Qin Jinhuan ignored her and hinted at Huang Bo, who got the signal and waved his hand to his men, readying themselves to barge in.
“Stop! Stop them!” Qin Wentao yelled and ordered his men to defend. However, his people were taken aback by the aggressiveness of Qin Jinhuan and chose to surrender instead. They scampered to the side, a sight that made Qin Wentao jump up and down in anger as he scolded them, “You jerks! I’ve wasted my effort keeping you all!”
Huang Bo and his men ignored Qin Wentao and charged toward the operating room.
“Stop! Stop, all of you!” At that time, Dong Yueyun suddenly dashed to the doors of the operating room. She extended her arms to block the men as she screamed hysterically, “None one of you can dream of taking my Xi away unless I am dead! Over my dead body!”
Her extreme remarks stopped Huang Bo and the rest in their tracks as they turned to Qin Jinhuan for instructions. After all, Dong Yueyun had some stature in the Qin Family.
The madness of Dong Yueyun shocked Mu Yu and Rong Ying, who were standing beside Qin Jinhuan. They each grabbed his arm nervously and looked at him frantically, worried that the chaos would result in a tragedy.
Seeing everyone’s hesitation, Dong Yueyun wiped away her tears and stared at Qin Jinhuan. “Do you really think that by showing your care for Xi, you could earn the favor of Wentao? Do you really think that Wentao will see you as his son and care for you? Keep on dreaming! You’re nothing to Wentao!”
Qin Jinhuan’s face flushed and consumed by anger, he clenched his fists until they cracked. He stared at Dong Yueyun for a while before pushing away Mu Yu and Rong Ying to leave.
“Huan! You cannot leave now!” Wen Zeyu immediately went up to stop him. “She’s using reverse psychology on you. You cannot fall into her trap.”
“Let go of me.”
“Huan…”
“Let go!” Qin Jinhuan gave Wen Zeyu a violent push and was about to leave but a gut-wrenching crying sound was heard from inside the operating room. “No! Let go of me! I beg you, please let go of me!”
The screams were filled with despair that hurt Mu Yu’s heart. Although she had not figured everything out, she could sense that Qin Chengxi was in danger in the operating room. Therefore, she grabbed Qin Jinhuan who was frozen on the spot and looked at him with teary eyes.
After some hesitation, Qin Jinhuan pushed her away gently and strode over to the doors of the operating room. Dong Yueyun initially thought that she had succeeded in shooing him away, but she did not expect him to turn around with more aggressiveness. She felt like she was confronting a powerful enemy, to which she cursed and spat continuously. Now, Qin Wentao had to lend her a helping hand to stop Qin Jinhuan.
Ignoring the couple, Qin Jinhuan grabbed them and flipped them onto the ground, after which he kicked open the doors with a loud bang. The moment the doors were forced open, Mu Yu, Rong Ying and Wen Zeyu dashed in. When they saw the situation within the room, their eyes bulged in disbelief.
