My Lovely Wife is a Forensic Doctor - Chapter 139
Chapter 139 Be More Attentive
Is he really going to divorce me?
Did he admit his relationship with Yin Anran, which meant he would be accepting Yin Anran?
It was after a long time that Mu Yu recovered the shock while helplessly sitting there.
She had indeed braced herself for the outcome, even telling herself to remain calm no matter how bad the situation might turn out to be. However, at this moment, she still failed to repress her distraught emotions deep down, which caused her to be overwhelmed with devastation.
So, the title of the Qin Family’s Young Mistress will soon go to Yin Anran, won’t it?
When she thought about how Yin Anran always acted cute, she felt even more reluctant to allow Qin Jinhuan to be taken away from her. For that, she regretted her decision to forgive Yin Anran.
If she hadn’t forgiven Yin Anran, the latter would have been trapped in the bathroom and dehydrated. In that case, Yin Anran’s condition wouldn’t even have allowed her to eye on Qin Jinhuan.
Hold on!
Mu Yu suddenly realized something.
Since Qin Jinhuan cared for Yin Anran so dearly, why did he still force her to swallow so many laxatives and lock her up in the washroom, instead of taking her to the hospital?
Therefore, she believed that it must have been a show the two of them put on to fool her. It must be because the Old Master had turned a deaf ear to her words, in which he secretly pressured Qin Jinhuan to put on a show with Yin Anran and fool her.
No, that didn’t make sense. If he was really afraid of the Old Master, then why would he divorce her?
“Every time something goes wrong between you and Young Master Qin, it’s either that you didn’t confront him and made a wild guess instead, or you didn’t listen to his explanation at all. This is an irrational and irresponsible act to both yourself and Young Master Qin.”
Jiang Wenwen’s words kept reverberating in her ears. After thinking through, she decided not to speculate about his motive this time. After all, she was still deeply in love with Qin Jinhuan, whom she couldn’t bring herself to walk away from, although he had always disappointed her.
Upon calming herself down and properly organizing her messages in her head, she turned her attention to Qin Jinhuan and snorted, “Hey! Regarding the divorce…”
“We’ll talk about it when we get back.” Qin Jinhuan didn’t even bother to look at her when he coldly interrupted her words.
She was upset with his attitude, against which she argued, “Why must we wait until we get back? I want to talk about it right now! We…”
“Be my guest and do whatever you want. I just want you to stay out of my hair.”
“What do you mean?”
“Prepare a divorce agreement and I’ll sign it.”
“You… humph!” Mu Yu angrily turned her back on him.
She didn’t expect to be treated that way by Qin Jinhuan when she finally decided to make her first move. It seemed like Qin Jinhuan had already made up his mind to divorce her.
Alas…
She got angrier the more she thought about it.
No way! I’m not going down alone.
If I’m going to Hell, I’m taking everybody down with me.
A divorce?
No, not a chance!
As long as she was still the Qin Family’s Young Mistress, Yin Anran was just nothing more than a lady whom Qin Jinhuan had an affair with. Therefore, it was her right as the wife to teach the mistress a lesson.
Soon, she would return to the Old Master and request a few bodyguards. Then, she would wait for an opportunity to teach Yin Anran a lesson. If Qin Jinhuan dared to step in, she would see that things turn ugly. Humph!
Upon thinking about that, she curved her lips to form a cunning smile.
Due to the pending cases of Sun Meilan and Zhao Yongli, there were rumors and speculations circulating around Qing Tian Group. Therefore, in order to avoid further trouble, Qing Tian Group had to keep a low profile. For that, Mu Yu believed that Qin Jinhuan, who was the president of Qing Tian Group, wouldn’t want to draw any unwanted attention from the public. Even if the scandal didn’t give him a hard time, the Old Master wouldn’t go easy on him either.
She didn’t want to be disappointed anymore, neither did she want to give herself away and alert Qin Jinhuan. Therefore, she pretended as if she didn’t care at all and put on her earphones. Then, she turned on the music from her phone and closed her eyes while thinking how she could teach Yin Anran a lesson.
“Young mistress? Young mistress?”
“Ah?!”
Mu Yu woke up to Bian Zijun’s voice, only to find that the car had already pulled up in front of the entrance. She couldn’t believe that she fell asleep along the way, but yawned and got out of the car anyway.
After taking a few steps forward, she heard Bian Zijun’s voice from behind her saying, “Boss, what about this takeaway?”
Takeaway?!
What takeaway?
“Get Huang Bo to deliver it to Anran.”
Qin Jinhuan’s caring reply only served to anger Mu Yu even more.
She recalled how he always denied his feelings for Yin Anran, but she didn’t expect to hear their lovey-dovey conversation right after he told her he wanted to divorce her.
Does he really think our marriage is a game to him?
It seemed like he didn’t take her seriously.
Mu Yu curved her lips to smile coldly and headed upstairs. She then turned on her laptop and started drafting the divorce agreement. When Qin Jinhuan came in later, she threw the documents at him.
“What’s this?” Qin Jinhuan folded his arms and sat on his bed, his eyes glancing at the papers.
“This is the divorce agreement that I drafted. Have a look.”
“I’ll go through it tomorrow.” He flicked two pieces of paper to Mu Yu’s bed.
Tomorrow?
Does he mean he will only go through it tomorrow at the civil affairs bureau?
Alright, as you wish.
Without any insistence, Mu Yu only said, “If you can’t agree to the terms written on the agreement, then I will not sign the papers.” Upon saying that, she took her pajamas and entered the bathroom.
After the bathroom door was closed, Qin Jinhuan glanced at the glass wall, which he could tell from the color of the wall that she had switched on the ‘opaque’ mode. Now that neither of them could see each other through the glass, he immediately flipped open the divorce agreement and started going through its content.
He wanted to know what terms and conditions she had stated on the divorce agreement.
He skipped the formal paragraphs and only skimmed through the main points. Then, he was amused by one of the terms which read, ‘All properties, including the second party, shall belong to the first party.’
In the agreement, the first party referred to him while the second party was referred to her.
Is this even a divorce agreement?
Nonetheless, this is interesting.
He fished out a pen and signed his name on the paper. However, as he was about to sign the second copy of the agreement, he realized the content was different from the other. Therefore, he laid down his pen and looked closer at the terms. At first, he was shocked, but was soon amused, in which even he burst out laughing this time.
‘All properties in the name of the first party, including his company shares, real estates, cars and cash shall belong to the second party. However, the second party shall also belong to the first party.’
If he had known she was just trying to scare him with the divorce, he wouldn’t have had to rack his brain to think about how he could pacify her. Although the reason he wanted to divorce her was due to her distrust toward him and her childish act, it was also a strategy to buy him enough time to win her back.
How could he bear to divorce her? She was the only woman he had ever loved.
Although he was upset when she tore the white dress he gave her earlier, he had long forgiven her for the wrong she suffered from the previous matter with Yin Anran.
“Jinhuan, you raised Yin Anran up until she is twenty one, which meant you’ve long fulfilled your promise to Yin Anjing, and you no longer owe her anything. Therefore, you don’t have to spoil Yin Anran until the salt won’t save her. Anyhow, I hope you could be more attentive to Yu. Otherwise, if this keeps going on, you’re going to lose her one day! Mark my words because I don’t want you to regret your decision.”
That day, although Wen Zeyu slammed the door shut and left, he soon contacted Qin Jinhuan to offer him his advice on handling the matter wisely.
In fact, he was aware that he didn’t properly handle the issues between him and Mu Yu. More often than not, he was too self-centered, in which he wasn’t being considerate enough for her. He wanted to have a word with her about this, but he couldn’t find a time to do so because of Yin Anran who had been hospitalized. Yin Anran had no one to depend on, and because looking after her had become his habit, he naturally stayed by her side to keep her company. Today, he had seen Yin Anran home after she was discharged from the hospital. He wanted to talk to Mu Yu about their issues. However, before he could do so, his plan was disrupted by the misunderstanding that happened later.
To be honest, when he opened the door and saw Mu Yu, he was panicky upon noticing her disappointed. In fact, he had never been so unnerved in the face of his best opponents in a negotiation meeting. However, he tried his best not to show any sign of his anxiety, for he had long been used to hiding his feelings.
Then, he apathetically dragged her downstairs before forcing her into the car, whereupon he coldly suggested a divorce. Only he himself knew his indifference was nothing more than a mask to hide his fear and uneasiness. Before he could organize his words to speak with her, he needed to look calm on the outside.
After his mother passed away, he lost all hopes in his life. As a result, he thought he became the center of his own world. He deemed he was all alone in his world more often than not. For that, he became so pessimistic that he was no longer willing to love anyone else, because his feelings and emotions for love had long been buried underground together with his mother. Even with the Rong Family’s siblings and his childhood friend Wen Zeyu, he always appeared indifferent toward their warmth and care, which explained why he often responded to them in a cold manner.
As time went by, he had long forgotten how to love those around him. Instead, he only knew how to be loved in his own world. After all these years, Yin Anran was the only person whom he had ever learned how to care for.
However, his care for Yin Anran had nothing to do with love. It actually stemmed from his guilt, his promise to her sister and his responsibility to look after her, which gradually became his habit.
Mu Yu was still the one he loved.
Wen Zeyu was right. He had to reflect on himself and be attentive to his loved ones. Otherwise, the both of them would only grow apart further and further, which was not his original intention.
He put down the agreement and slowly stood up. Then, he walked to the bathroom and leaned his elbow on the door frame with his lips clamped, while silently staring at the glass door.
The door was then cracked open.
While wiping her hair with a towel, Mu Yu exited the bathroom with her head facing down. As she noticed Qin Jinhuan standing at the door, she was about to stop in her tracks. However, she reacted too late as she was already trapped in Qin Jinhuan’s arms.
“Hey, what’re you doing here?!”
Not knowing what was going on, she instinctively tried to push him away. Nevertheless, she could only succumb to his strong grip, as he wrapped his arms around her even tighter.
“Hey! You…”
“Quit moving. Let me hug you.”
Upon hearing his magnetic voice and feeling his warm breath, she couldn’t help herself but pause at the moment.
He was snarling about wanting to divorce me. Why has he become so gentle all of a sudden?
What does he mean? Does he have a change of heart? Is he no longer going to divorce me?
She suddenly felt a surge of joy, even though she knew he could be having an ulterior motive. However, she couldn’t care less about all the possibilities, so she decided to enjoy the moment.
It had been long since the last time he was this tender and close to her. Neither had she heard his gentle voice in a long while.
Only God knew how much she missed this feeling.
If only she could stop the time.
“If you had been more aggressive, treated Young Master Qin more gently and dressed yourself up more often to look more likable, I’m certain Young Master would have treated you differently in return. Not every man is motivated by lust, yet lust can cloud their judgment.”
She recalled Jiang Wenwen’s words.
If I had been more aggressive…
With her eyes looking down in a coquettish manner, she boldly tossed her towel aside and wrapped her arms around his neck. Then, she swiftly pressed her lips against…
