“Did something happen to Qiqi?” Feng Rubing’s expression immediately changed and she stood abruptly.

“It’s not about Qiqi! It’s…”

“Did another murder happen again?!” Mu Yu was startled as it was rare for her to see Rong Jian in this kind of state.

“No! It’s Grandpa! Grandpa’s having a heart attack!”

“What?! He was okay before, what happened?” Mu Yu was anxious as she dashed out the forensic room.

Rong Jian stole a glimpse toward Feng Rubing and instantly followed Mu Yu out as he explained, “I’m not sure too. Zeyu didn’t tell me the reason.”

“Zeyu called you?”

“Yeah, he said he couldn’t get his calls to you. I’ll send you over.”

“You don’t have to. I’ll take a cab myself.” Mu Yu knew there were a lot of things to manage at the office so she did not want to trouble Rong Jian.

“I also want to take a look at Grandpa.” Rong Jian said as he led Mu Yu toward his car.

Mu Yu called Wen Zeyu right away when she got inside the car to know the details about Grandpa’s situation. After she knew Rong Ying was on her way there, she felt a little bit of ease and immediately asked the reason why Grandpa had another heart attack.

“Grandpa knew about you stabbing Dong Wanqing. He knew Yin Anran was the cause of all this so he wanted to settle things with her. Maybe he was too worked up so he got a heart attack before he could leave the mansion.”

“You told Grandpa?”

“Yeah, I…”

“You knew Grandpa had a problem with his heart, why did you tell him?” Mu Yu, who was already upset at Wen Zeyu, immediately felt annoyed and her voice started to sound irritated, “You’re a man, can you stop being so gossipy?”

“I was worried about you!” Wen Zeyu instantly smiled apologetically. “You did not want Huan to interfere with this case so when Dong Wanqing wakes up she would definitely call the cops on you. I can’t just see you get sued and do nothing about it. So I told Grandpa and hoped that he would be able to handle things. But I didn’t expect for him to get a heart attack. Mu Yu could already guess from the bits and pieces of what Wen Zeyu had told her. She angrily ended Wen Zeyu’s call who was giving his all to cover up for Qin Jinhuan.

She knew it; other than Qin Jinhuan who was always against Grandpa, nobody would easily be able to trigger his heart attack.

That Qin Jinhuan; just so he could protect Yin Anran, he did not even care about Grandpa’s wellbeing.

And he had the nerves to say he did not have any feelings toward Yin Anran?

Mu Yu, who was annoyed and jealous, grumbled to herself.

“Mu Yu, you’re finally here.” Wen Zeyu immediately greeted her as soon as she got down from the car.

Mu Yu ignored him entirely and ran straight inside the mansion. She saw Qin Xiaozhi sitting on the living room sofa and immediately ran up to him to see how his condition was.

“How are you feeling now Grandpa? Are you feeling alright now?”

She looked like she was asking Qin Xiaozhi but actually the questions were directed at Rong Ying who was sitting beside him.

“Yu, you are the person involved, how are you going to handle it?” Qin Xiaozhi did not answer her questions, but instead asked her sternly.

“Grandpa’s situation is stable, but make sure to not make him too worked up.” Rong Ying interrupted in a low voice.

Mu Yu understood that she was reminding her to not provoke Grandpa too much. Mu Yu instantly went silent as she coldly threw a glance toward Qin Jinhuan who was standing at the side.

Qin Xiaozhi knew Rong Ying’s words had given an emotional pressure for Mu Yu, so he let Wen Zeyu send Rong Ying back, “I’m already fine, don’t hold Yingying up on treating her other patients.”

Rong Ying was reluctant to leave, “Grandpa, you…”

Wen Zeyu understood when he saw Grandpa waving his hand. He tugged on Rong Ying lightly and took her away.

After Rong Ying left, Qin Xiaozhi turned toward the twins and ordered them, “Next time you don’t have to make a fuss and call Rong Ying every time I have small symptoms, do you hear me?”

Qin Xiaozhi finally mellowed down and pulled Mu Yu to sit beside him, “It must be hard for you these past few days, Yu. Here, tell Grandpa how you want to settle this incident?”

“This incident…” Mu Yu had already moved her gaze away from Qin Jinhuan. “Grandpa, I have already injured Dong Wanqing so let’s count that as giving her a lesson. If she is able to not pursue my legal responsibility, then the issue will be settled now. I will compensate her on the medical and nutrition expenses.”

“You’ve misunderstood Wanqing, Yu. She wasn’t the one behind this incident. It was actually…”

Mu Yu softly interrupted him, “Grandpa, I work under the public security system and I know everything needs to be based on evidence. We can’t just make assumptions and speculate on our own accord. Even though there isn’t any evidence that is pointing toward Miss Dong, there is also not any evidence which proved someone else was behind this.”

Qin Xiaozhi did not expect her to say this. He glared coldly toward Qin Jinhuan, he then held on her hands and scoffed softly, “No matter what happens, Yu, Grandpa will always back you up. You don’t have to care about anybody. Just tell Grandpa if you have anything to say.”

“Nobody has the guts to threaten me, Grandpa. I’m just stating the facts.” Mu Yu immediately changed the topic before Qin Xiaozhi was able to continue with the conversation and asked with a worried look on her face, “I’ve injured the innocent Miss Dong to that extent. She will definitely call the police to arrest me. Grandpa, I don’t want to…”

“Rest assured! She will never report you to the police!”

“Did you already speak to her and her aunt?”

“I don’t have to. You are my granddaughter-in-law that I have chosen myself. They won’t even get to lay a hand on you without going through me first.”

Mu Yu could finally feel peace after hearing Qin Xiaozhi’s words.

To be honest, she was actually under the influence of her anger when she said she did not need any help from Qin Jinhuan. She was actually quite worried that he would really not interfere at all. So she already decided that if Qin Jinhuan really decided to ignore her, then she would seek help from Grandpa.

She never would have thought that even before she could ask help from Grandpa, he had already given her his assuring words.

Grandpa was definitely the best. As for that piece of thing, she really did not have high hopes for him.

This thought lingered inside her as she unconsciously glared at Qin Jinhuan with a grudge in her eyes without her even noticing.

But Qin Xiaozhi had caught this expression and his expression dimmed down and warned Qin Jinhuan. “Next time whoever has the guts to lay their dirty hands on my granddaughter-in-law, no matter their background and support they have, I will definitely pay them back!”

“Rest assured Grandpa, nobody will want to mess with my sister-in-law ever again.” Wen Zeyu replied as he came back after sending Rong Ying back. He looked toward Mu Yu and assured her, “Mu Yu, next time I will be in charge of your meals when you are at the office. I will make sure you will be satisfied every time.”

Mu Yu stared at him angrily and did not respond to his words. She spoke toward Qin Xiaozhi softly, “Grandpa, you just have to help me manage Miss Dong’s issues and you don’t have to worry about anything else. I will settle them on my own. Enough now, I will carry you back to your room to rest.”

“Yu…”

“Grandpa, am I really that useless?”

“No! Our Yu is the best!” Qin Xiaozhi immediately calmed Mu Yu who had a wrong expression on her. He stopped being persistent and let Mu Yu carry him back upstairs.

Qin Xiaozhi sent a sharp glare toward Qin Jinhuan when he passed beside him; the warning in his gaze was self-evident.

Mu Yu sent Qin Xiaozhi back to his room and chatted with him for a while. She then went back to her own room.

She was not surprised to see that Qin Jinhuan was also inside the room. She ignored him and went straight inside, she then sat on the sofa and started playing with her phone.

She thought he would come over to thank her soon but he did not say anything after moments of her playing with her phone. She could not stand it anymore, so she stood up and acted as if she wanted to get a glass of drink. She glanced toward him and he was sitting in front of the desk, not budging, without any thought or sign of wanting to thank her. She immediately became irritated.

She was forced to back Yin Anran since she did not want to make the matters between him and Grandpa even worse and to not provoke Grandpa’s condition. Little did she know how ungrateful Qin Jinhuan would be.

Did he really think he had done nothing wrong, that it was natural for her to do all this?

Just so she could have the cold shoulder from him?

She became more and more angry and could not live up to it anymore. She stormed in front of his desk and slammed the laptop shut as she exclaimed, “You would rather anger Grandpa to the point of him getting sick just to protect Yin Anran. Is that how much you cared for her?”

Qin Jinhuan did not expect that so he was quite shocked. He glanced at her as he lay back against the chair and said calmly, “This had nothing to do with whether I cared about her or not. You said it yourself, that everything must be based on evidence and facts, you can’t just make assumptions and speculate on your own. There was no evidence that Anran was the one who did it, so there is no reason for her to be fired.”

He was definitely ungrateful.

Mu Yu was absolutely filled with wrath when she heard him saying the name “Anran” from his mouth. She angrily exclaimed, “Would you still calmly say she was innocent even when someday you saw her destroy me with your own eyes? Since you care about her so much, then I will fulfill both of you and get a divorce now!”

Qin Jinhuan glanced at her, he then suddenly stood up and left.

Mu Yu was surprised and stood there not being able to move.

She ran toward the room door and silently poked her head out. There were none outside and this made her more suspicious.

Mu Yu’s heart that was filled with anger finally felt a lot better thinking about this, but she was still upset. She was still feeling unhappy when she went back to her room.

She changed the phone back to normal mode as it was silent before. She suddenly saw a message from an unknown number before she put the phone down.
