My Lovely Wife is a Forensic Doctor - Chapter 126
Chapter 126 A Person Who Cares for you Silently
Ten years ago, Luo Mingan was an ordinary worker at a construction site. Back then, his wife cheated on him with another man. Out of anger, he stabbed his rival in love and also killed his wife. Then, he fled and became a fugitive. However, three months later, police found a suicide note along with some things he left behind by the beach. The police hunted him down for the coming years but they had no trace of him. Thus, they eventually concluded that he had jumped into the sea and committed suicide three months after the murder.
Mu Yu who tried to overcome the fear in her heart stared at Luo Mingan’s information on her phone while being deep in thought.
Ten years ago, Luo Mingan was thirty years old. If he had faked his death back then, he would be forty years old now. Generally speaking, he should look a lot older than his actual age. That was because he was escaping from the authorities and living as a fugitive all these while. Therefore, life must have been extremely difficult for him.
Wang Linhua’s face flashed through her mind as he really looked very similar to Luo Mingan. The main reason Mu Yu mistook him as Luo Mingan was because he really looked very similar to how Luo Mingan looked ten years ago, especially his eyes.
Luo Mingan’s eyes were rather elongated like a crescent moon. Despite the ferocious look back then, it did not cover up the exquisite characteristics of his eyes.
The characteristics of his eyes were still fresh in Mu Yu’s mind.
She clutched her arms around her chest and shut her eyes. For the first time, she tried to recall the incident that occurred back then.
Back then, she passed by the couple that was arguing in order to dump her rubbish. Just as she was turning around, she heard a shrill scream from the woman. Then, a ball-like object rolled over to her feet. She had no idea what the object was so she subconsciously glanced over at it. She was spooked when she saw that it was the head of the woman.
At the same time, the man rushed over to her and lifted up the machete that still had fresh blood dripping down from it. Just then, there was a flash of lightning and she managed to catch a clear look on the man’s face splattered with blood. She became even more terrified and she subconsciously waved her arms as she shouted, “Don’t kill me.” Then, she blacked out and fell unconscious.
The next thing she knew, she woke up in the hospital. She looked at her parents that were extremely worried as she endured the pain and cried in their arms. However, once she was done crying, she realized that she was completely unharmed. Thus, her pain was merely an imagination as she thought she was severely wounded.
She slowly opened her eyes and stared bravely at Luo Mingan’s face on the screen. She stared into his eyes and eventually she realized he was not as terrifying as she thought.
Perhaps my fear towards him all these years were not because of him? Maybe it was the bloody machete he held in his arms? Or was I spooked by the head of the woman that rolled over to my feet?
She bitterly smiled as she shook her head because she had no idea as well. Nonetheless at the end of the day, it was all related to Luo Mingan.
The only thing she was certain about was that Wang Linhua was not Luo Mingan. That was because Wang Linhua merely looked like he was in his thirties and Luo Mingan would not be so young.
Since they look so alike, perhaps they had some blood ties with each other?
Out of curiosity, she looked into all of the information online that was related to Luo Mingan. However, she was soon disappointed as she realized that all the subsequent news were similar to the first piece of news she saw. There was no further news on Luo Mingan.
After some thought, she gave Rong Jian a call. In order to avoid any unnecessary trouble, she informed him that her friend was writing her thesis and needed some analysis on certain unique cases. As such, she wanted to get more information on this case that occurred ten years ago. She knew that he had a lot of connections thus she requested for his help to collect more information with regards to Luo Mingan.
Rong Jian did not ask any further questions and immediately agreed to help.
Mu Yu placed her phone down and turned her computer off. She returned to her cosy corner on the couch and stared at the ceiling while being deep in thought. While she was trying her best to conquer the fear in her heart and face the horrifying murder that occurred ten years ago, she had no idea that Qin Jinhuan had also begun to pay attention to this case. That was because he had managed to deduce that her unorthodox behavior during rainy days had to be related to the case.
Early next morning, Qin Jinhuan listened to the information discovered by Bian Zijun in his study room. “Ten years ago, Young Mistress and her family lived in a residential area within Ping City. On a rainy evening, Young Mistress who was only eleven years old went downstairs to dump the rubbish. She happened to witness a homicide and she was traumatized. As such, she had a phobia of strangers. She dared not step out of the house nor did she dare to interact with strangers. She would also become extremely anxious and restless during thunderstorms. At the same time, she would experience nightmares due to the fear within her heart. Her symptoms were alleviated when their family moved over to An City. Then, she registered for the higher education examination and she successfully got into An University.
“The murderer was Luo Mingan. He was from the Luo Village that lived in Donghe Town within Tian City. His parents passed away when he was twelve. Then, he was introduced by his relative to work in a butcher farm. His wife was the same age as him and they met when he was eighteen. His wife brushed her family’s objection aside and insisted on marrying Luo Mingan who was poor. She delivered their daughter the following year. Their relationship was pretty good throughout the first few years. However, she slowly realized that their life was not getting better and she became dissatisfied with him. Eventually, she brought their daughter along with her and eloped with another rich man. After many setbacks, Luo Mingan found them and he pleaded for his wife to return back to his side. However, his wife turned him down and out of anger, he stabbed his rival in love and murdered his wife. Then, he fled the scene. Three months later, the police found his suicide note along with a few objects he left behind by the beach. Two years later, police concluded that he had jumped into the sea and committed suicide thus closing the case. That’s all of the information I have for now.” Bian Zijun stayed up late the whole night to gather the information and his eyes were reddish because of that. However, he was still extremely nervous as his boss was frowning throughout the entire time.
After some time, Qin Jinhuan waved his arm and said, “Go back home and take a rest.”
“Alright.” Bian Zijun left in a hurry as he could not be more relieved to hear that.
Soon after, Qin Jinhuan also stood up and returned back to his room. He looked at Mu Yu who was still sound asleep on the couch and saw that she grasped tightly onto a notebook. He could vividly make out the name, Luo Mingan that was written on the notebook. Upon that sight, he became rather emotional.
I am his legally married husband and we have been living under the same roof for quite some time. I thought I knew her well but only now did I realize that I barely knew her. I didn’t show enough care for her that’s why she didn’t open up and share her thoughts with me.
That was when Qin Jinhuan realized the importance of the calls last night from Xin Yihan as well as Mu Yu’s parents. They called her because they were extremely concerned and worried about her. On the other hand, not only did I not do anything for her, I even annoyed her. No wonder her towards me got worse last night.
Qin Jinhuan felt a little guilty. He saw that Mu Yu’s hair was in a mess and just as he was about to reach out and tidy up her hair, she talked. “Brother Yihan, don’t worry. I will no longer choose to escape from my fears. I will bravely confront them.”
His arm froze in mid-air as he realized that she was talking in her sleep. His eyes twitched and he felt rather sad.
She’s still dreaming about Xin Yihan!
He retracted his arms as he got up and left.
As Mu Yu’s mind was occupied with Luo Mingan’s incident, she did not sleep well that night. When she was woken up by her alarm, she rubbed her eyes that were still fatigue and got out of bed while yawning.
“Yu, has your fever gone down? Does your head still hurt?”
When she got downstairs and heard what her grandfather said, she was rather shocked. “I had a fever last night?”
“Yes, you had a high fever of thirty eight degree celsius. Young Master rushed back to take care of you and he even personally fed you the medication,” Yu Zhongguang said as he passed a cup of milk over to Mu Yu.
“Where’s he?” Mu Yu subconsciously looked around.
“Young Master went to the office first thing in the morning.”
“Oh,” Mu Yu said as she recalled the situation of how she hugged Qin Jinhuan to sleep last night.
So he was taking care of me. Yet, I pushed him away and ignored him because I was too focused on Luo Mingan’s case.
She thought about how she reprimanded him and chased him away last night. At the thought of that, she could not help but felt rather touched.
Looks like no matter what he does care about me.
Wait a minute, as his wife, isn’t it normal for him to care for me? His care for Yi Anran is the abnormal one.
Upon the thought of Yi Anran as well as Qin Jinhuan’s intimate moments with her, her emotional moment vanished and in return, she was annoyed. She subconsciously bit down harder onto the bread that was in her hand.
Whatever! I have so many things to do, why should I care about him!
She rolled her eyes at her cup of milk as if that was Qin Jinhuan.
After breakfast, she said goodbye to Qin Xiaozhi and left for work in Weng Yun’s car.
Once she left, Qin Xiaozhi summoned Qi Hao to come into the kitchen.
“Is Huan still pretending to care for Yu?” Qin Xiaozhi was unhappy as he saw the change in expression on Mu Yu’s face just now.
“I don’t think so. Young Master treats Young Mistress rather well.” Qi Hao was shocked.
Qin Xiaozhi snorted and said, “If he actually treated Yu well, Yu wouldn’t have called out Brother Yihan when she was down with fever last night.”
“You suspect Young Mistress has feelings for Xin Yihan…”
“I have never doubted Yu’s feelings for Huan. He is the brat that makes me worried. Pay close attention to Yi Anran’s movements. Don’t allow her to have the opportunity to cause any problems.”
Qi Hao was puzzled and he asked, “Boss, since you are concerned about Yi Anran’s presence, why don’t you chase her out of the company?”
“Forcing her out would only make things worse. We have to go with the flow.” Furthermore, Qin Xiaozhi knew that it was Mu Yu’s intention.
In fact, he knew why Mu Yu wanted to leave Yi Anran in the office but he did not bring it up. He knew that Qin Jinhuan and Mu Yu needed to get over Yi Anran as well as Yi Anjing in order to have a strong relationship together in the future.
On the other hand, Mu Yu rushed over to look for Rong Jian once she arrived at Qing Tian Group. She wanted to get an update on the information she requested.
“Here you go. That’s all the details you wanted.” Rong Jian did not ask any further questions and merely passed her all the information that he had prepared.
“Thank you Captain Rong.” Mu Yu received the information and went to a corner to look into it.
As she looked at Luo Mingan’s details, she realized that a majority of the fear in her heart had already vanished. She was delighted and immediately texted Xin Yihan to inform him about it.
Shortly after, she received a reply from him. “Yu, you are amazing! Keep up the good work!”
“Thank you Brother Yihan. I will!” She replied to his text message while feeling elated. Then, she noticed that Wen Zeyu was walking over while grinning. She immediately sent the message and put her phone back into her pocket.
“Oh, you are smiling so happily. Looks like you have already found out about the surprise breakfast that Huan got for you.” Wen Zeyu giggled as he passed her a lunch box.
Wen Zeyu thought that she was interacting with Qin Jinhuan.
Mu Yu kept quiet as she was too lazy to provide an explanation.
“Sister-in-law, Wang Linhua refused to come over to Qing Tian group to work,” Wen Zeyu said as he put the lunch box down. He thought that she was merely embarrassed and did not suspect anything was amiss.
“Oh? Why did he turn down the offer? Were the benefits offered to him lower than his previous company?”
“He said it was not about the employment benefits. Instead, he felt that his superior treated him very well. Thus, he had a nostalgic feeling about the company so he was reluctant to leave.”
“Oh.” Mu Yu realized that Wang Linhua was a person with that sort of personality so she did not force the issue. Just as she was about to ask about the breakfast prepared for her, she heard Liu Xiaofan calling her. “Doctor Mu, we have a mission to carry out now. Hurry up and gather.” Mu ditched Wen Zeyu behind and ran over to the lobby.
Half an hour later, Mu Yu and her colleagues arrived at a huge sauna in Chengdong, Camphor Forest.
According to the latest news, Zhao Yongli was in Camphor Forest the night before he died. He also had an argument with a waitress here called Kiki. They were here to question Kiki and gain a further understanding of the situation. Due to the fact that Kiki was a woman, her male colleagues were worried that it would be inconvenient for them so they asked her to come along.
When they entered Camphor Forest, Mu Yu was rather surprised as she saw a familiar silhouette.
