But Mu Yu thought she heard wrong. Since Qin Jinhuan hadn’t gently called out to her like this for a while.
Even though she was being doubtful, she still turned her head unconsciously.

“I’m alright.”
Mu Yu ignored the pain on her forehead as she hurriedly collected, arranged and clipped the reports into a file. She then informed Qin Jinhuan, “This is a laboratory, you can’t just come in.”
“Have you had breakfast?”
“Yes.” She never would have thought that he would worry about this; she started to become wary of why he came over to look for her.
“You didn’t have the steamed dumplings and milk on your desk?”
“Umm… I’ve eaten something else. My colleague bought too much. Are you here for Chief Rong?” She did not want to beat around the bush with him.
“He’s out for a meeting.”
As expected.
Mu Yu lowered her eyes as she cleared her table; she was hiding the sorrow on her face.
“You’re busy in the laboratory…”
At that moment, Liu Xiaofan—Rong Jian’s assistant—suddenly barged in the laboratory and saw Mu Yu and Qin Jinhuan. He immediately apologized, “I’m sorry for interrupting President Qin, Doctor Mu. Chief Rong ordered me to pick up the evaluation report.”
“It’s okay.” Mu Yu hurriedly passed over the documents that she had already prepared to him.
“The director suddenly arranged an emergency meeting and Chief Rong and Doctor Feng are already attending it. They said that you may send any new report to the meeting room before they finish their meeting.”
“I understand, I will hurry and arrange them.”
“Thank you for your hard work, Doctor Mu.” Liu Xiaofan said as he received the documents. He immediately ran out without even sneaking a glance at Qin Jinhuan.
Mu Yu continued to ignore Qin Jinhuan after Liu Xiaofan left and continued her work.
“How is the evaluation?” Qin Jinhuan did not mind her giving him the cold shoulder. He walked to her side and stared at the computer monitor.
Mu Yu bluntly showed him to the door, “Can you please leave? You can ask Chief Rong if you have any questions.”
“He’s in a meeting.”
“It will end soon since it’s a sudden meeting.”
“What’s the reason for Zhao Yongli’s death? Was it connected with Sun Meilan’s case?”
She never would have thought that not only did he not leave, but also started asking things regarding the case. Mu Yu was livid and decided to tell him formally, “I’m sorry CEO Qin. I am only a forensic doctor and my job is to take evidence; I can’t answer your questions.”

The reason why he came over to look for her was because he just wanted to know more about the murder case in Qing Tian Building; if not, he would have been together with Yin Anran.

She was lowering her head and ignoring him. Qin Jinhuan felt put out, but had no intentions of leaving just yet. He decided to just sit beside her and look at the report that she wrote halfway.

Mu Yu ignored him and snatched away the documents, she then retorted, “You still have to wait until the director has given me instructions to let you read this; I am just a mere forensic doctor, so I don’t have any authority to do that.”
“Are you throwing a fit at me right now?”
“Throwing a fit?” Mu Yu puckered her lips, “Excuse me CEO Qin, I am currently doing my job. I don’t have spare time to throw fits at irrelevant people.”
Qin Jinhuan lifted his brow, “I’m irrelevant?”
Mu Yu went silent.
“We’re not divorced yet, are we?”
His words pierced through Mu Yu’s pain. She suddenly lifted her gaze and coldly replied, “We will be soon, won’t we?”
“You have no saying whether it will be soon; I have the final say. I advise you to give back the two million to Yihan; his company is having a major problem right now. Two million won’t make a difference to me, but it would help his company have a breather. Of course, if I were to let him go just like that.”

Mu Yu slammed the documents on the table and glared, “What do you mean by that, Qin Jinhuan?!”
“I didn’t mean anything, I’m just giving you a reminder. Xin Yihan still spared two millions for you even when he is currently in a pinch means that he really cares about you. So you should know better and help him while you still can.” Qin Jinhuan grabbed on the report and slowly brushed her hands off it and took away the documents.
“Are you threatening me?!” She was irate.
He ignored her and repeated, “What was the reason for Zhao Yongli’s death? Is it connected to Sun Meilan’s case?”
Mu Yu had no idea if Xin Yihan was really having trouble with his company, but she believed that Qin Jinhuan would really go his way to knock Xin Yihan down as it would only take him a matter of minutes. She decided to calm her feelings down and patiently explained, “Grandpa gave me the two million; it wasn’t Yihan.”
“If I think he gave it to you, then it means that he gave it to you. But I am not interested in that right now; I’m more interested in this.” Qin Jinhuan pointed toward the evaluation report, “Later when Rong Jian is finished with his meeting, then I won’t be needing your explanation.”
His unreasonable and dominance made Mu Yu extremely irritated, but she had no choice, for the sake of Xin Yihan. She scolded him in her heart as she patiently explained the monitoring results that Feng Rubing and she did in the crack of dawn.
Qin Jinhuan’s brows started to frown as he listened to Mu Yu, “So does that mean it could be a serial murder?”
“Yes. And it could be because the murderer wanted to take revenge on Qing Tian Group. I advise you to not go out at night too much, because nobody knows who the next target of the murderer would be.” Mu Yu reminded angrily.
“Are you reminding me to be by your side at night?”

Mu Yu was exasperated but nonchalantly replied, “I’m just reminding you to keep on your guard. From what I could see from the two cases, the suspect did not leave any trace of evidence. This means that he had prepared everything and chosen who his target was. Sun Meilan was just a cleaner in Qing Tian Group, but Zhao Yongli was the department manager. He saw that Mu Yu was glancing at him with a disdainful look in her eyes, so he walked closer to her and playfully tugged her messy ponytail as he said in a low voice, “Keep this in mind, I don’t like you calling me CEO Qin.”
Mu Yu irritatedly slapped away his hand and retorted, “And I don’t like you having an affair with somebody else!”
Mu Yu herself was surprised with what she had said; she realized that she had been influenced by Jiang Wenwen.
Of course, Qin Jinhuan was stunned too.
But he quickly composed himself and did not explain anything to her. He merely said, “I’m not getting a divorce!” By the time Mu Yu realized what was going on, he had already left the laboratory.
“Suit yourself!” Mu Yu angrily exclaimed and sat on a chair feeling irritated.
She was extremely upset as Qin Jinhuan had treated him coldly for the past few days; she felt it since yesterday and it made her feelings sink—she hated this kind of feelings. She kept telling herself to ignore him and his feelings, but she could not help but feel upset and helpless.
After finally getting used to his indifference and just when she found something to do to divert her attention, he then suddenly came over and teased her just so he could know more about the progress of the case.
What did he take her for?
The cloud in the sky that would come over when called and leave when not needed anymore?
Did he think of her to be simple-minded and easily swayed? He even used Yihan to threaten her!

Fine. Since he did not want divorce, then he better not be upset if she retaliated with Yin Anran.

Mu Yu tightly gripped on the pen in her hand with an irritated face.
“How is it? Are the remaining datas sorted out?”
Mu Yu finally got back to her senses when she heard Feng Rubing’s voice. She replied, “Almost. Will you be okay, Madam Feng?”
“Yes.”
“Ah, just leave it to me. You can go and rest.”
“It’s okay.” Feng Rubing took over the tasks at Mu Yu’s hand and said as she was rushing with the tasks, “The Municipal Bureau set up a special team for these two cases, but I am not able to participate because of my personal matter so I recommended you instead. You will need to cooperate with Chief Rong to investigate and collect evidence.”
Mu Yu was worried, “You will not be joining?! Is it because of your condition…”
“Something happened back at home recently, so I won’t have any energy to join. Thank you for your hard work.”
“No, not at all.” Mu Yu was nervous, “I’m just afraid that I might not do well.”
“It’s okay. Just call me whenever you have anything that you’re not familiar with.”
“Okay.” Mu Yu responded and she wondered if something had really happened at Feng Rubing’s home, or maybe she just wanted to minimize the chances of her being with Rong Jian.
Mu Yu thought it was most likely to be the latter; she suddenly felt a bit pitiful toward Rong Jian.
Mu Yu did not want to slack off since Feng Rubing came to work with a sickness. She collected her mind and started to assist Feng Rubing on the jobs at hand.
Mu Yu had her lunch in the evening at the dining hall and went straight back to the laboratory. She was called by Rong Jian for a meeting for the special case team and learned about her responsibilities. She was more anxious in doing her job and worked until it was 6 o’clock in the evening—Rong Jian had always let her take her leave early because of Qin Jinhuan—this had been the latest she had gone home ever since.
After Feng Rubing left, she took out her notebook to write details regarding Zhao Yongli’s case; she then blinked her tired eyes and stretched out her body as she prepared to get home.
She finally realized the sky had turned dark when she stepped out of the workplace. She was contemplating whether to get a cab or have Grandpa send a car to pick her up when suddenly, someone came from behind and hugged her tightly…
