Muchuan and Xiang Wan - Chapter 615
Chapter 615: Crazy About You
Bai Muchuan squinted his eyes slightly but didn’t say anything.
On the other hand, Tang Yuanchu turned his head slowly and gave Xie Wanwan a glance before looking away.
“I only knew about her time of death much later. At that time, I was at a loss with regards to what happened to ‘The Grey List’… Ye Lun called and asked me to go for a drink, which I agreed to. Ye Lun told me that he knew of a veteran in the industry and he could introduce him to me. So, we arranged to meet up with this client during noon today…”
As she said so, she looked towards Tang Yuanchu.
“When Detective Tang called me earlier during the day, I was waiting for that client with Ye Lun…”
Bai Muchuan interrupted coldly, “Who is this person?”
Xie Wanwan gritted her teeth. “Is this a must?”
Bai Muchuan replied, “You must.”
“…”
It seemed that Xie Wanwan was very reluctant to talk about this person, or maybe she was worried about something. Even after Bai Muchuan repeated twice that she had to answer, she still didn’t reply straight away. She lowered her eyelids and stayed quiet for a long time before she suddenly looked up.
“It’s CEO Song from Cultural Creations.”
Bai Muchuan was expressionless. “What did both of you talk about?”
Xie Wanwan placed her arms on the table and leaned forward. “Captain Bai, this involves a trade secret between two companies.”
“The police are only concerned with solving cases, not about trade secrets.”
“…”
He doesn’t understand, Xie Wanwan thought.
This person is always like that.
“Fine! I’ll talk. But, I request for all of them to leave this room…”
Eh? Everyone was slightly taken aback by her request.
Xie Wanwan seemed as though there was nothing special about her sudden request. “For the sake of my company’s trade secret, I’m not willing to talk about it with so many people around.”
“When we are questioning a witness, there must be at least two detectives present…”
“Then keep only two!”
This request was still within reasonable boundaries.
Bai Muchuan looked at her for a while and waved a hand. “Laowu, you may go out first…”
Quan Shaoteng just got up from his seat when Xie Wanwan suddenly pointed at Tang Yuanchu.
“Let him go out.”
Tang Yuanchu: “…”
The atmosphere fell suddenly silent.
Tang Yuanchu went stiff and a while later, he started to get out slowly.
“Boss, I’ll go out!”
…
Xie Wanwan didn’t specify for Xiang Wan to leave. But when she said to only leave two people in the room, Xiang Wan couldn’t be thick-skinned and stay behind since she was not a detective.
She left the room with Tang Yuanchu and sat down outside, in the waiting area.
“Aye!” Tang Yuanchu puffed a sigh heavily and leaned against the chair as he went into a daze staring at the ceiling.
Xiang Wan took a peek at him then read news with her mobile phone.
Tang Yuanchu suddenly sat back up. “Teacher Xiang, are you okay with me smoking for a while?”
Xiang Wan: “Go ahead!”
“Thank you!”
His mood wasn’t exactly good.
It seemed that he had no desire to communicate.
Xiang Wan focused on what she did and didn’t look at him.
The two of them waited quietly and when Tang Yuanchu almost finished smoking a cigarette, the door of the interrogation room opened.
Bai Muchuan, Quan Shaoteng, and Xie Wanwan came out of the interrogation room. Their expressions were calm, and nobody could tell what had transpired in the room.
In order to prevent more awkwardness, Xiang Wan got up and asked with a smile. “You’re leaving now?”
“Yeah!” Xie Wanwan smiled at her and turned to look at Bai Muchuan. “If there’s nothing else, I’ll go back first.”
“Mm!” Bai Muchuan didn’t stop her.
When Xie Wanwan turned to leave, he reminded her. “Don’t leave the Capital for now!”
“Alright!”
Xie Wanwan walked away without turning around.
Tang Yuanchu, who had been keeping quiet all this while, suddenly snuffed out his cigarette and left his seat. “Let me send you out.”
Xie Wanwan’s back went stiff and she froze at her spot.
The rest of them looked at Tang Yuanchu in disbelief.
“Let’s go, I’ll escort you to your car. If the paparazzi are still there, you won’t be able to get away.” Tang Yuanchu took his coat, put it on his shoulder and took the lead. His expression and movements were so natural. He wasn’t bothered by how the rest would think; he behaved as if Xie Wanwan was the closest person to him.
Silence ensued for a moment before Xie Wanwan started walking.
…
At the steps, the sun was shining.
The pale golden light rays were beautiful to see.
Tang Yuanchu slowed down his pace, took a look at the sky and spoke in a casual tone.
“I’m honored that I’m different from others in your heart.”
Xie Wanwan pursed her lips slightly. “I don’t get what you mean.”
“Do you need me to explain?” Tang Yuanchu turned and stared at her side profile, wearing a smile on his face. “It took me a cigarette’s time to figure out why you wanted me out of the interrogation room. You’re smarter than me, you would surely get it…”
“…”
Xie Wanwan seemed startled and she walked faster.
She didn’t talk and seemed as if she had no plans to communicate with him.
Thud! Thud! Thud! Tang Yuanchu quickly chased after her.
“Don’t deny it! I know I’m different in your heart. No matter what you told Captain Bai, why is it alright for you to talk before him but not me… Why? This is because you’re not bothered with how Captain Bai and Captain Quan sees you. But if I’m around, you don’t have the courage to say anything—”
Immediately, he grabbed Xie Wanwan’s wrist and pulled her to face him, smiling away.
“Is it so difficult for you to admit that you like me?”
“…”
“I know that I’m not good enough for you. But I can protect you, I can.”
“…”
“Xie Wanwan, tell me. What did that person do to you?”
Xie Wanwan turned pale when she faced Tang Yuanchu’s burning gaze. She felt terribly uneasy facing this pure and innocent man at the entrance of Serious Crime Division One.
She struggled to pull out her wrist away from him.
“Let me go, what if someone took a picture—”
“What’s there to be afraid of? Let them take as much as they want!” Tang Yuanchu’s arms were strong and the young fellow refused to listen to her advice. Not only did he refused to let go of her, he even pulled her to him—
Xie Wanwan was wearing high-heel shoes that day. That pull directly made her fall into his arms and she let out a scream!
“Are you out of your mind!?”
“Yes! I’m out of my mind.” Tang Yuanchu looked at her seriously, pronouncing every single word clearly. “I’m crazy about you.”
“…”
“I only like you, what should I do?”
“Let me go!” Xie Wanwan’s face was red.
“You tell me. How do I stop liking you… then I’ll let you go.”
“You—” Xie Wanwan gritted her teeth. “Rogue!”
“You’re right!”
Tang Yuanchu showed a grin, revealing his pearly white, neat row of teeth.
“That’s exactly what I’m doing so you can’t shake me off.”
As the saying goes, ‘one who has not been headstrong and impulsive has wasted their youth!’ After he made that bold remark, Tang Yuanchu seemed to have broken through some kind of self-boundary. He seemed relaxed and was no longer bashful before Xie Wanwan. It was like he had transformed into someone aggressive, expressing his feelings openly and eager to receive her reciprocation.
“Say something!”
Xie Wanwan was panting away.
His sudden assertive and bold behavior made her flustered.
“I don’t know what to say to you… Just let go. Or else, I…”
