Muchuan and Xiang Wan - Chapter 322
Chapter 322: Tough Nut to Crack
Huang He paused and looked at Brother Steel. “You might not like what I’m going to say, but I’m someone who likes to speak the truth. If I’m not compelled by the circumstances, even if your nest has been flipped by Bai Muchuan, I won’t get myself involved—it’s simply too dangerous! I don’t have to take such risk, right?”
“…” Too honest.
That would surely make Brother Steel feel a loss of face?
He did not look good, but Huang He continued his earnest speech.
“I have money, no way I couldn’t get the goods, right? If there’s no Brother Steel, there will be other sellers. Even if Dark Clan ceased to exist anymore, there will always be other alternatives. There’s nothing that money can’t buy, right? So… I really have no choice but to get involved in this mess…”
Brother Steel nodded his head.
“Sounds reasonable.”
He started to get curious about why Huang He had to get involved.
“What exactly happened that you have no choice but to come personally?”
Brother Steel’s expression clearly showed—that he was very interested to know about Huang He’s plight so he could gloat over it.
Huang He smiled coldly. “Someone forced me to do so!”
Brother Steel: “Forced?”
Huang He nodded his head and looked at Brother Steel. “They held a girl that I liked in captive…”
Brother Steel was a little taken aback. “A girl? I thought you and Sister Danyue?”
Huang He gave him a meaningful look as his mouth formed a smile.
“Hahahahaha!”
Brother Steel had figured out what was going on even though Huang He only showed a smile and did not give an explanation.
They were men after all, how could they not understand?
After exchanging glances with Huang He, Brother Steel let out a cackle.
“You’re willing to do anything for your woman! Brother Crown Prince, I didn’t expect that you’re actually a passionate lover as well. This brother salutes you…”
“It’s not passionate!” Huang He refused to accept such a label. He snorted and looked at Brother Steel casually. “They’re the ones who broke the rules, so they can’t blame me, right? The path we are taking now is not easy. If I got slapped in the face and don’t retaliate, how am I going to continue to make a living in the underworld?”
“Correct! Isn’t our purpose for being alive is to fight for ourselves?”
Brother Steel nodded his head in agreement before he suddenly laughed. “Who have such guts to mess with you? Who are they?”
Huang He sneered but did not reply to Brother Steel’s question.
Brother Steel thought it might not be convenient for Huang He to reveal and nodded his head in understanding. “What you’ve said is right.” He puffed a sigh. “Life is getting tougher being in this line… Brother Six had left, and as for me, the police is hot on my heels—”
The more he thought about it, the more frustrated he became that he ruffled his hair restlessly.
“Some of my men are dead, and I don’t know how my boss will deal with me afterward! If this base is not exposed, maybe it will be fine. But the moment this base got found out…”
Brother Steel’s eyes actually revealed signs of fear as he looked at Huang He. “Brother Crown Prince, when that time comes, I’m going to die a horrible death, worse than Brother Six!”
Huang He gave him a sidelong glance. “You can always choose to surrender without putting up a fight?”
Brother Steel’s eyes opened big and wide, bewildered. “Surrender without putting up a fight?”
Huang He: “If you’re caught by Bai Muchuan, I can guarantee that at least you won’t die a horrible death!”
What a humorous consolation!
Brother Steel couldn’t utter a word for a while.
Lots of possible decisions surfaced in his mind, and that made him restless.
“Just my luck to have run into Bai Muchuan, this mad dog! I’m already hiding in Vulture’s Mouth, yet he refuses to let me off! It’s just the bleeping five of them, right? And he dared to mess with me! D*mn, this is really…”
He slammed his fist on the table, unable to complete his sentence.
… That was because even though there were only five detectives including Bai Muchuan, Brother Steel was unable to do anything to them.
Yu Bo didn’t know the truth behind all these events.
He had thought that Bai Muchuan and the few of them were being forced to enter Vulture’s Mouth by Brother Steel.
But in fact, it was Brother Steel who got played by Bai Muchuan.
When Bai Muchuan and his men retreated from the villa, Brother Steel thought he had gained the upper hand. He left his bullet-proof jeep and led his men into the forest… In the end, when Bai Muchuan launched a counter-attack, he not only lost a few of his men, he also lost the protection from his bullet-proof jeep.
Due to that, Brother Steel had no choice but to lead his men deeper into the forest of Vulture’s Mouth.
He had absolute confidence in that infamous forest after all.
He had thought that he could make use of Bai Muchuan’s unfamiliarity of the forest and trap them in there. While doing so, he could even eliminate them in the process, or at least they could get away from them.
However…
In the end, it turned out to be like this.
“That man is a police dog! He’s a dog!”
As he felt enraged, the words he said were unpleasant.
Huang He acted like he didn’t hear anything as he continued to sip his tea slowly.
“Just calm down! Things are already like this, if you have the strength to scold him, why not use that to come up with a plan to deal with them instead!”
Brother Steel took a look at the window out of reflex.
It seemed like he had thought of something when he suddenly turned his head and looked earnestly at Huang He.
“Brother Crown Prince, do you think… they’ll really find this place?”
Huang He paused for a moment and spread out his hands. “How will I know?” He smiled. “I’m not him after all.”
Brother Steel gritted his teeth. “D*rn. Let’s go! We’ll interrogate that detective and see what kind of plans do they have!”
…
At this moment, Tu Liang was imprisoned in Brother Steel’s base.
He got exposed while he was tailing Brother Steel by the lake and was captured by them.
Brother Steel had lost a subordinate during the process of capturing Tu Liang. Thus, he hated this man to the core. At this moment, as he was also frustrated and had nursed the hatred for Bai Muchuan, by the time he arrived at the backyard, he was raging in anger!
At the backyard, there was a wooden shed which Brother Steel used to imprison people.
The structure in this base was rather rundown. It was in no way comparable to Brother Steel’s villa.
As for the wooden shed, it looked rather dilapidated.
Outside the shed, there were a few men who were guarding it.
They all greeted Brother Steel when they saw him approaching…
Brother Steel walked closer to the shed without saying a word. He exchanged glances with his men and they opened the door to the shed immediately.
…
The interior of the shed did not look like a room but more of a makeshift shelter for keeping animals.
Around the center of the woodshed, there was a huge wooden pillar from ground up. Apparently, it was made directly from a tree and Tu Liang was tied right on the pillar…
Toward the corner of the woodshed, there was a small makeshift room where a few people were imprisoned inside it.
They were Captain Zhang and his men who got lured into the forest by Brother Steel.
They were not as lucky as Bai Muchuan.
They lost their way after they entered the forest of Vulture’s Mouth. They were so tired and hungry that within half a day, they got captured by the Dark Clan.
Hence, before Tu Liang got locked up in here, Captain Zhang and his men were already there.
Nonetheless, Brother Steel did not do much to them. His hatred for Bai Muchuan was way deeper than them, and therefore, Tu Liang was in a worse state than Captain Zhang and his men.
Tu Liang was the only prisoner in this open area of the shed.
He looked like he had just suffered from a beating. His hair was in a mess, his clothes were torn. His face, neck, chest… there were injuries everywhere.
The wound on his face was still bleeding.
He did not move, his head hangs aside loosely. There was not a sound—it was as though he was already dead.
Brother Steel entered the shed and took a look at Tu Liang. “Lift up his head for me! I want to see if he’s already dead!”
One of his men replied softly, “Brother Steel! He has passed out!”
“Wake him up!” Brother Steel was like an agitated wild beast who was filled with rage.
The two subordinates did not dare to go against his command. They walked over to Tu Liang and lifted his head.
Tu Liang woke up but did not have any strength as he allowed the subordinates to lift his head. He just looked at Brother Steel with his swollen eyes, and then took a look at the one beside—Huang He. He only pursed his lips and kept quiet.
“Tell me, how do you want to die under my hands?” Brother Steel placed a leg on a stool. His pose looked like a bandit boss as he looked at Tu Liang.
“…” Tu Liang kept quiet.
Seeing how calm Tu Liang was, Brother Steel was gnashing his teeth in anger.
“Weren’t you awesome when you were with Bai Muchuan yesterday? What happened to you? Gone weak? Can’t you just f*cking open your mouth?”
Tu Liang did not have the energy to speak.
Furthermore, he was now in their hands. Talking or not would make no difference.
Brother Steel then continued to verbally abuse him but was still unable to relieve his anger. “D*mn. Are you mute? Beat him up—”
Once he gave that order, it seemed to have aroused the mad beast within.
The subordinate who got the order took the whip which was hanging at the corner of the wall and started to whip him.
As Tu Liang was suffering from the whips, Brother Steel continued to vent by dissing at him. “Now that you’re in my hands, where’s your arrogance? Show me your bleeping arrogance!”
Tu Liang only groaned in pain but refused to say a word as he took the whips. His head hung even lower than before.
“Aiyo! You sure have tough bones!”
Brother Steel was anxious inside as he couldn’t find any way to release his anger. At the spur of the moment, he thought of something.
“Come! Make the stove burn fiercely that it becomes red!”
This place was very cold and they had no heater. Hence, they burnt charcoal to keep warm.
A burning stove was right next to the door.
With that shout of his, although the warm air was all around, there was actually an eerie chilly feeling…
Tu Liang’s pupils contracted slightly at his words, his body was now tense.
The instant show of nervousness in Tu Liang made Brother Steel very pleased as he started to cackle in satisfaction.
“So you do know what fear is? I thought detectives are made of steel!”
He walked closer as he spoke, revealing a curious smile as he looked at Tu Liang’s face.
“How about this? You beg for mercy, call me ‘Good Grandpa’, and scold Bai Muchuan and the police a few sentences. I bleeping will not only not beat you up today, but I’ll also serve you good food and liquor. How does that sound? It’s a good deal, right?”
