MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter - Chapter 334
Chapter 334: Chapter 334: Rules
“Hey, hey, you’re just leaving like this, what about my task?” Sang Yinye said with frustration.
Li Yao was taken aback, “What does your task have to do with me?”
“You, I swear, you’re destined to be alone forever.” Sang Yinye said, at a loss of words.
Li Yao shrugged and said, “Yes, but I already have a girlfriend.”
Sang Yinye gave a silent sigh, then went into stealth mode and left.
Li Yao shook his head, activated his passive skill, and quickly left as well.
“It’s so hard to detect a Hunter in stealth mode, is there any justice in the world.” Sang Yinye lost the trace of Li Yao and had to give up on tracking him. She’s still very curious about what kind of mission Li Yao is on. Why does he need the Water of Blue Moon Lake, and how on earth did he manage to become a member of the Light Faction convincingly?
She was extremely curious. If she knew these secret methods, she wouldn’t have to be so passive. However, Li Yao seemed indifferent to her, and was as elusive as ever. After chatting for a long time, she discovered that Li Yao knows her profession extremely well, but she still knows nothing about him, except for what she’s seen in his online videos.
“What an interesting guy, I wonder how he’s going to get the ultimate achievement tomorrow.” Sang Yinye continued to hide. Now that the temple was sealed, she had no way to leave.
The so-called ultimate achievement was actually the ultimate challenge.
For example, the initial challenge was to defeat a monster bird, and this ultimate challenge was similar—it was about earning the Platinum Medal.
This time there was no title reward, but because it was paired with the arena, the reward became a part of the arena event.
The rules of the open arena were already completely set. As long as players participated in ranked mode, they would receive reward packs, win or lose.
Uniquely, the ranked mode gives players points and rank by accumulation, and there was a leaderboard for overall and three separate listings for each faction.
Most of the game had already implemented this leaderboard format. For example, the level board too had an overall ranking and three separate faction rankings.
The arena reward pack came in several grades–Bronze, Iron, Silver, Gold, Dark Gold, Colorful, and so on.
The official explanation was that these packs contained various materials, appropriate level gear of different qualities, ores, junk items, various types of food buffs, skill books for all professions, blueprints for secondary professions, pets, and experience points.
Any pack could contain valuable rewards, but higher-level packs increased the chances.
Participating in a ranked match and losing awarded a Bronze pack.
Winning a ranked match awarded an Iron pack.
Winning three consecutive matches gave a Silver pack.
Winning thirty consecutive matches earned a Gold pack.
Being in the top hundred daily ranked players awarded a Dark Gold pack.
Winning a hundred consecutive matches in the main arena gave a Colorful pack.
Iron was essentially a participation award–everyone got it.
In the first ten days of the arena opening, participating in a ranked match rewarded experience points, opening reward packs also gave a fixed amount of experience points, and during the event, the probability of various items in reward packs was doubled.
So when Li Yao returned to his treehouse and opened the world channel, he was startled. The world channel was bustling with chatter and players showing off their loot.
Some got purple gear, some got valuable materials or gemstones, some got a significant amount of experience points, and others got extraordinary foods like dragon roast. Li Yao was dazzled. Just by looking at the bustling scene and endless stream of rewards, Li Yao felt a surge of excitement to participate.
Li Yao didn’t know that while he was doing this mission, the towns were in an uproar. Only the quiet temple was unaffected.
“Big brother, what are you doing? You’re missing out on the grand opening of the arena.” Dumeng Tongtong excitedly said.
Li Yao chuckled and said, “I’m doing a task. If all goes well, I’ll be able to play with you guys tomorrow.”
“That’s great. I’m glad you’re finally free.” Dumeng Tongtong happily said.
“By the way, Tongtong, how’s the arena treating you?” Li Yao asked curiously.
“Haha, I’m awesome. I’ve won thirty games in a row thrice and earned three Gold Boxes. If my sister-in-law wasn’t watching over me, I could have breached the top hundred of the ladder.” Tongtong proudly said.
“Yeah, I know how strong you are, Tongtong. It doesn’t matter whether you’re on the leaderboard. Just make sure you’re getting enough rest.” Li Yao said comfortingly.
“Mm-hmm,” Dumeng Tongtong nodded, “I got a purple pet, a little Night Blade Leopard. It’s so cute. Big brother, how do I take care of it?”
“Night Blade Leopard, that’s great. It’s a top-tier pet.” Li Yao said after a pause, “If you just want it as a pet, feed it well. If you want to train it as a battle pet or a mount, you’ll need to learn a secondary profession, Beast trainer.”
“I see. I’ll become a Beast trainer then. I want to train the Night Blade Leopard into a battle pet or the best possible mount.” Dumeng Tongtong’s eyes lit up, “Big brother, I won’t bother you any longer. I’m going to find a Beast Trainer instructor.”
Li Yao shook his head, this fickle little thing.
“We did as you asked and encouraged the guild members to participate in the arena.” Sister Li sent him a message a while later.
“How did it go?” Li Yao asked. After all, he made everyone participate in the arena based on his past life’s experience. Not every guild would make such a move.
“The results were quite fruitful. You can rest assured. By the way, we’ve found a few players with secondary professions. When you have time, get the contracts done.” This was the real reason she contacted Li Yao.
“Got it. I estimate I’ll be back in a bit.”
After ending the call, Li Yao let out a sigh of relief. The guild’s logistics team was finally starting to take shape. His pressure was increasing as well since he was officially starting to pay salaries to so many people. He had to work hard to earn credit points.
“Young tribal member, the Moon God has felt your devotion. This blueprint has been blessed by the Moon God.” The high priest handed the blueprint to Li Yao kindly.
“Thank you, priest.” Li Yao, with gratitude and devotion on his face, took the blueprint.
“You do not have your own territory yet. When your territory becomes strong enough to need a temple, you can come to me. I will arrange some priests and moon guardians to help you manage the temple.”
“That’s great.” Li Yao, joyous and excited on the outside, was disappointed on the inside.
If he were a true Ancient Elf and needed to build a temple, he could have some priests of the moon and moon guardians working under him. But the harsh reality was, he wasn’t.
Filled with regret, Li Yao used the Hearthstone outside of the temple…
PS: For my friends who play League of Legends, I recommend a terrific LOL novel called “League Throne”. The author is a well-experienced LOL author, and the book performs best among recent LOL novels. Those who are interested can take a look.
