MMORPG: Divine Mech Hunter - Chapter 322
Chapter 322: Chapter 322: Emergence
“Wait a moment, what does the gentleman you mentioned look like?” The leader stopped Li Yao.
He didn’t doubt Li Yao, knowing well that given Colin Firefeather’s strength, Li Yao couldn’t possibly steal or snatch the Flame Emblem, it must have been given to him by Colin, as proof.
Li Yao’s eyes sparkled with excitement, he quickly described; “He’s very tall, with dark red hair, and his eyes are sharp but filled with a hint of sadness. He appears a bit disheveled and neglected.”
The guards glanced at each other continued to question, “Anything else?”
Li Yao pretended to think for a bit, then said, “Oh right, when he left, he turned into a giant thunder eagle shimmering with electricity.”
“That’s not a thunder eagle, but a storm raven. How could a thunder eagle compare?” The leader affirmed the identity of the man Li Yao had described, waving his hand as he said, “Since that man vouched for you, you can go in. Just register and proceed.”
“Thank you, thank you.” Li Yao carefully wrote his name in the ancient elf language.
You have to understand, this is not an easy thing to do.
Upon entering the game, players naturally become fluent in two languages – their race’s native language, and the common language. For example, since Li Yao chose the High Elf race, he automatically learnt the High Elf language and the common language, which were implanted into his mind by the Ancient God System, making it natural for him to write in them.
The languages of other races are a different matter though. To learn them, one must go to a library to study or receive a blessing from an altar, like Li Yao did.
In his previous life, Li Yao learned the languages of many races. Even though it’s not recognized by the system now, he still can write in the ancient elf language.
“System: The quill pen in your hand smoothly glides over the parchment, and a line of ancient characters appears. They look like beautiful, flowing runes from ancient times.”
“System: You have a basic grasp of the ancient elf language. To completely master it, please study in a library.”
“Your writing is not bad, much better than the scribbles of these rookies. Young lad, work hard. I look forward to seeing you grow. Go ahead, with the Flame Emblem, you are free to go anywhere except the temple and the lord’s mansion.” The leader patted Li Yao’s shoulder affectionately.
Obviously, he believed that his lord had high hopes for this young lad. Otherwise, why would he give his personal Flame Emblem to a novice, instead of just sending a simple letter.
“Thank you, sir.”
Li Yao performed a solemn ancient elf courtesy, then turned around and walked towards the teleportation portal.
Li Yao finally let out a sigh of relief. As long as Colin didn’t expose him, he would have a legitimate identity in the Light Faction. His journeys and character records (reputation, honor, rank) can also be accessed by other races within the Light Faction.
Amrant, like its name, was filled with dreamy colors. Looking up, the entire city was lush with trees, filled with temple-style buildings, quaint cottages, tall trees, and colorful flowers all perfectly blended together.
Even though it was gradually warming into daylight, two moons could still be seen hanging in the sky. The city looked tranquil and harmonious, with robust male ancient elves and beautiful female elves filled the city.
Li Yao walking amongst them was very unassuming. It was bright outside now and the exits were bustling. Most of those around were players forming teams or seeking to join ones.
Li Yao didn’t rush to collect the water from Blue Moon Lake. It wasn’t often that he made it so deep into the Light Faction territory. He couldn’t leave empty-handed.
Li Yao went straight to the auction house, he was no longer considering equipment, the Dark Camp was already rich in that.
Instead, Li Yao was mainly looking for blueprints, skill books, and other things that were scarcer in the Dark Camp.
“Zhao Lei, in a bit, I will send some things to you. Please go to the Neutral Faction and send them to Li Jie for me,” Li Yao communicated directly with Zhao Lei.
“What, you’re in Amrant? Wow, you actually made it to a city of the Light Faction,” Zhao Lei noticed Li Yao’s location when he got the message.
“Yes, used a little trick, and doing a little shopping while I’m here,” Li Yao did not explain in detail.
“Alright, I’m currently power leveling a team right now. Just send the stuff to my mailbox and I will pass it all to Li Jie tonight,” Zhao Lei said.
“Okay, continue on then, I’m going shopping.”
Li Yao closed off the communication. The auction house in the Light Faction had many things that were either unavailable or rare in the Dark Camp.
Li Yao crazily started raiding. By noon, he had spent hundreds of gold coins like water.
After sweeping a massive number of blueprints and skill books, Li Yao made a rough estimate. If these items were placed in the Dark Camp auction house, it would cost at least 500 to 600 gold coins.
He managed to save the guild a lot of gold consumption. Although he had tinged half a day, Li Yao thought it was worth it.
“I hope this identity won’t be exposed, this way I can come every once in a while and save quite a bit.” Li Yao wasn’t thinking of reselling, since with the game as it is now, unscrupulous merchants abound. But having this identity truly saved him some cost.
Of course, if he is really short of money at some point, Li Yao wouldn’t mind playing the unscrupulous merchant a few times.
Just as Li Yao was about to leave the auction house, Li Jie connected to Li Yao telling him, “You asked me to look out for equipment this morning, and I just remembered something you might be interested in.”
Puzzled, Li Yao asked, “What is it?”
“I heard a rumor. From the day before yesterday, a golden dress bow appeared in the auction house of the Light Faction,” Li Jie said.
“Golden Dress?” Li Yao was taken aback. Who got the Golden Dress and even managed to put it in the auction house?
“Yes, the Golden Dress. And the one who sold it at first made a fortune off of it, as players went crazy for it. But less than an hour later, the player who bought the Golden Dress relisted it at the auction. It then changed hands over a dozen times, with each new owner relisting it. It’s been hanging for a day now, and nobody wants it anymore,” Li Jie said in a peculiar fashion.
“What…” Li Yao was puzzled. He had a deep understanding of the power of Golden Dress, so why did it change hands a dozen times only to end up unwanted? “Why?”
Li Jie chuckled and said, “You’ll know when you see it. It’s actually the weapon you use. It is utterly useless for others, but for you, it should be like a semi-divine artifact.”
Seeing Li Jie’s description, Li Yao was eager to know what kind of weapon would elicit such a strange evaluation. Hastily, he began searching for Hunter weapons.
Upon seeing the Golden Dress, his eyes widened. Indeed, it was a level 15 gold longbow. And just as Li Jie described, this weapon was like a death curse to other hunters but a powerful semi-divine artifact to him…
