Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 78
Chapter 78 You again?
Chu Yunshen turned to look at Mu Bai after Xiaowu left and asked, “I heard Xiaowu say you were drying chicken shit vine in the backyard.”
“Yes, Your Highness!” Mu Bai nodded as he bowed and replied, “I recently read in some ancient medical text that chicken shit vine is very effective for a particular condition. However, most people don’t know about it.’
“What’s it good for?”
Chu Yunshen narrowed his eyes and stroked the cat in his arms as he looked at Mu Bai every now and then.
“Your Highness, it will be summer in less than a month.” Mu Bai glanced at the cat in Chu Yunshen’s arms as he continued, “Since Chu is located in the Southeast, we experience harshly hot summers. Sometimes people even die from the heat. Hence, I came up with a prescription to help ease the summer heat.”
Mu Bai raised his head and said with his eyes smiley, “After I finish sunning the chicken shit vine, I can use it in my prescription. You just need to take one bowl a day when summer comes to help alleviate the discomfort.”
“Okay.”
Chu Yunshen nodded before he continued playing with the cat.
“Why did you ask to see me, Your Highness?”
The moment Mu Bai finished his sentence, footsteps came from outside. Xiaowu had just returned after being disciplined by the punishment officer.
Chu Yunshen looked at Mu Bai profoundly. Mu Bai instantly realized Xiaowu had kicked a fuss to Prince Jing.
He instantly raised his hand and explained to Chu Yunshen, “Your Highness, I didn’t bully Xiaowu.”
Mu Bai told Chu Yunshen about the events that transpired at the pavilion.
Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t help glancing at Mu Bai.
PFFTT!
How could Mu Bai say Xiaowu had kidney problems?
Here he was saying so self-righteously that he had no intention of bulling Xiaowu.
Xiaowu was oversensitive.
In reality, such kidney problems consisted of either Yin or Yang deficiencies.
Xiaowu was mistaken.
Mu Bai merely checked on Xiaowu since feeling hot was a symptom of kidneys suffering from Yin deficiency.
He noticed Xiaowu dipping his face in a bucket of cold water despite the cool weather.
Hence, he asked Xiaowu if his kidneys were okay and offered to prescribe him medicine.
Although there was no problem with the way he worded it, was Mu Bai so sure he had no intention of teasing Xiaowu?
Cheng Xiaoxiao caught the cunning look in Mu Bai’s eyes. There was no way she would believe he wasn’t making fun of Xiaowu.
Someone knocked on the door.
“Come in,” answered Chu Yunshen calmly.
Xiaowu hobbled into the room.
Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t help looking at Xiaowu’s buttocks pitifully as she curled up in Chu Yunshen’s arms.
Xiaowu sensed all three of them staring at him. However, he kept his eyes glued on Mu Bai as he sneered.
“Master.” Xiaowu stepped forward, bowed to Chu Yunshen, and said, “I have received my punishment. Do you have any other orders for me?”
“Prepare water,” ordered Chu Yunshen calmly as usual.
“Yes, Master!” Xiaowu hobbled out and seemed a little upset.
Mu Bai sensed his joke had gone too far, and Xiaowu seemed furious with him.
Hence, he hurriedly took his medical kit before he bowed and said shrewdly, “Your
Highness, allow me to take my leave.”
“Go on,” replied Chu Yunshen calmly as he glanced at Mu Bai.
Mu Bai was a great physician. His only flaw was that it could be very blood boiling when he cracked jokes.
After Xiaowu and the servants came back with the water, Chu Yunshen told him to call it a day and rest.
Forget it. Mu Bai and Xiaowu should settle their scores themselves.
That way, Mu Bai could learn a lesson.
Chu Yunshen noticed the cat sleeping very far away at night, so he reached his hands out to scoop her up and placed her before him.
“Meow!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao moved away from him once more.
He scooped her back again.
After doing this repeatedly, both of them were exhausted. They ended up falling into a deep sleep with their heads leaning against each other.
Before Chu Yunshen fell asleep, he was still wondering why the cat was so mad at him.
Cheng Xiaoxiao lay in bed thinking there was no way she would forgive the stupid Chu Yunshen so easily.
But her lips curved up into a slight smile as she slept.
The first thing the next morning, Chu Yunshen headed to the justice department as usual. However, the moment he left, Cheng Xiaoxiao jumped off the bed.
She wasn’t going to wait for the maid to send breakfast this time.
After all, she was going to have a sumptuous feast after she left the residence.
She jumped down the window ledge to make her way to the dog hole, only to realize that the residence’s security had improved.
Hence, she had a hard time avoiding guards who kept patrolling vigilantly.
When she could finally heave a sigh of relief and run out of a corner, bright laughter came from overhead.
“Little fellow.”
Chu Hongyi sat on the wall and looked down at Cheng Xiaoxiao.
“Meow!”
Why was he here again?
Was Chu Hongyi about done with sneaking into the residence?
The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao caught sight of him, she was so angry she could feel her head explode!
She ended up coming out too late. If she left earlier, she wouldn’t have bumped into Chu Hongyi climbing over the residence walls.
She wished she had wings and could fly away this instant!
“Little fellow, did you come all the way here to wait for me?” asked Chu Hongyi as he swiftly leaped down the wall.
Just as Cheng Xiaoxiao was about to shake him off, a rough voice suddenly came from behind.
“Your Highness!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned to see Butler Liu suddenly turning up with some guards.
She was surrounded on all fronts!
She forgot to check the Chinese almanac to see if it was a good day to leave the residence!
It was all Chu Hongyi’s fault.
How could the guards fail to notice when a huge bloke like him suddenly climbed over the residence walls?
He wasn’t as small as her!
Even if she ran all over the residence, it was hard for these people to detect her!
It was all Chu Hongyi’s fault.
“Your Highness, Prince Jing isn’t home today.”
Butler Liu stepped forward and bowed reverently to Chu Hongyi.
He glanced at the white cat on the ground and turned to glance at the guards. “Keep a close eye on His Highness’ cat.”
“Yes, Sir!” The guards instantly surrounded Cheng Xiaoxiao.
“Meow!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao’s fur instantly exploded when the guards surrounded her tightly.
“How dare you!” Chu Hongyi immediately pushed the guards aside and pulled Cheng Xiaoxiao into his arms.
“Why are you surrounding her? You are scaring her!” shouted Chu Hongyi as he held Cheng Xiaoxiao.
The guards glanced at Butler Liu. After all, Chu Hongyi was royalty.
“Meow!”
Let her go!
Cheng Xiaoxiao glared at Chu Hongyi and instantly attempted to free herself from his grasp.
She would rather get taken by the guards than let Chu Hongyi carry her.
But regardless of her resistance, she couldn’t wrest herself free of Chu Hongyi’s large hands.
However, she didn’t dare to scratch him!
Cheng Xiaoxiao knew she couldn’t scratch anyone as she pleased!
Chu Hongyi was imperial consort Su’s son, so even if he didn’t mind, his mother would certainly send someone to skin her alive if she found out!
“Your Highness, His Highness left instruction to send you back to the palace if you visited the residence today.”
Butler Liu raised his hand as he spoke. The guards instantly surrounded Chu Hongyi before Butler Liu gestured for Prince Xuan to leave. “Your Highness, this way, please.”
“Oh, really?” A light flashed in Chu Hongyi’s eyes as he beamed brightly. “Is that what Brother Yunshen said?”
“It’s true. Before His Highness left, he gave me clear instructions to personally escort you back to the palace.” Butler Liu bowed as he smiled courteously.
Cheng Xiaoxiao clawed Chu Hongyi’s robes and attempted to escape his clutches as she raised her head at Butler Liu.
“Meow!”
Quit talking about sending him back to the palace. He ought to get the guards to save Cheng Xiaoxiao first!
The moment Butler Liu heard Cheng Xiaoxiao’s meowing, he glanced at the cat in Chu Hongyi’s arms and said, “Your Highness, please return the cat to me. It’s time for her to eat.”
“Hasn’t she had breakfast yet?” Chu Hongyi lowered his head and glanced at the cat in his arms. He patted her head gently as he said, “I haven’t eaten either, so no harm taking a bite before heading back to the palace.”
“Oh no!” Butler Liu raised his hand to stop Chu Hongyi as he headed to Chu Yunshen’s room. “Your Highness, you…”
“What? I know Brother Yunshen told you to send me back to the palace, but I’m hungry now. Can’t I even have a bite?”
Chu Hongyi raised his brow as he spoke. He looked down at Butler Liu and went close to his ear to say, “If you send me back to the palace on an empty stomach, aren’t you scared people might gossip and say Brother Yunshen is…”
Chu Hongyi left Butler Liu dumbstruck. He wiped the sweat off his brow as he raised his head to look at this 12-year-old young man.
Despite his tender age, he left the middle-aged Butler Liu breaking out in cold sweat by uttering just a few words!
“Prepare some breakfast for His Highness,” said Butler Liu calmly to the servants behind him.
“Yes, Sir!’ replied a servant as he bowed before he hurried to send word to the kitchen.
“Let’s go! Time for some food, little fellow.”
Chu Hongyi carried Cheng Xiaoxiao and headed to Chu Yunshen’s bedroom.
Butler Liu was startled. He anxiously stepped forward and said, “Your Highness, this way, please.”
Chu Hongyi noticed that he was pointing at the living room, so he said unhappily, “I am Brother Yunshen’s 14th little brother. Can’t I even dine in his room?”
“That won’t do.” Butler Liu stood before Chu Hongyi firmly and seemed determined to stop him from eating in Chu Yunshen’s bedroom at all costs. “Your Highness, this way, please.”
Chu Hongyi burst out laughing. “Interesting.”
On account of Butler Liu’s loyalty to his brother, he decided not to put Butler Liu in a spot.
“Let’s have a change of scenery today and eat elsewhere, okay?”
Chu Hongyi stroked Cheng Xiaoxiao’s back as he said to Butler Liu, “Hurry up and lead the way.”
Butler Liu was stunned. He hurriedly reached his hand out as he bowed and guided Chu Hongyi, “This way, please.”
Chu Hongyi held Cheng Xiaoxiao as he sat in the living room with disinterest. Before long, a few maids dressed in pink came in with exquisite dishes of food.
The maid in charge of sending Cheng Xiaoxiao’s milk paste in the morning came in with a bowl of carp soup.
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked at the carp soup before her. She swiftly recalled how Xiaowu suggested for Chu Yunshen to change her breakfast to fish soup. She didn’t expect Chu Yunshen to take those words to heart.
He surprisingly changed her usual milk paste to carp soup.
Chu Hongyi glanced at the carp soup and said, “Is this her breakfast?”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
