Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 73
Chapter 73 Dharma bell
The formation could be removed if they destroyed the dharma bell inside the temple!
Just as they were about to destroy the dharma bell, a tragedy occurred!
The moment Priest Zhao touched the dharma bell, he suffered a personality change and instantly attacked them.
The sacrificial vessels summoned even more ghosts, but he managed to escape.
The dharma bell was hidden behind this brick.
Cheng Xiaoxiao instantly raised her paw and pulled the brick out when she heard the dharma bell was the key to destroying the formation.
The brick fell onto the ground with a thud!
Cheng Xiaoxiao saw a dazzling gold bell behind the wall. It had three prongs on top of it and appeared like the shape of the word “mountain” in Chinese.
She immediately reached her paw in and pulled it out.
DING DING DANG DANG!
The sacrificial vessels placed on all four corners of the temple suddenly slowed down when she shook the bell with her paw!
The monk’s chanting slowed down as well!
Cheng Xiaoxiao quickly shook it vigorously when she realized how effective it was!
“What are you trying to do?” shouted the middle-aged man in gray angrily as he attempted to stop Cheng Xiaoxiao!
Cheng Xiaoxiao ran all over the abandoned temple with the bell in her mouth!
Before long, the sacrificial vessels came to a complete stop.
Cheng Xiaoxiao reached her paw out and pushed the sacrificial vessels again with a clang!
They fell straight to the ground!
A dense gold net appeared over the abandoned temple.
Before Cheng Xiaoxiao managed to even get a close look, the net broke with a snap!
The monk’s chanting stopped completely!
Cheng Xiaoxiao went to all four corners of the temple and pushed each sacrificial vessel down.
When she stopped to rest, the men in gray said in shock, “What on earth did I do?”
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned her head to see the man looking at the bloody corpses in agony. “Big Mao and Little Mao.”
“Priest Zhao!”
The ghost suddenly floated next to Priest Zhao and said excitedly, “You are finally awake!”
“I-I-I ate Big Mao and Little Mao…” Priest Zhao’s hands shook as he gazed at the ghost in disbelief.
“It wasn’t your fault! You were under the control of the sacrificial vessels…” comforted the ghost anxiously.
“Priest Zhao, hurry up and release them.” Cheng Xiaoxiao looked out the temple at the sky. She had already spent too much time here and had to hurry back to Prince Jing’s residence, so she had to capture these spirits as quickly as she could.
“Sure sure.” Priest Zhao swiftly waved his hand, and all the ghosts instantly fell from the roof.
Priest Zhao paused and looked at his palm. This formation was intended for raising a malicious spirit by devouring other ghosts. Since he happened to be the most powerful ghost, he was selected by the formation by mistake.
He had shockingly eaten so many spirits and extinguished their souls for good!
Priest Zhao had committed such a heinous crime!
Priest Zhao was in a daze as Cheng Xiaoxiao used the jade pendant to catch all the wandering spirits and send them to the Netherworld for reincarnation.
Only Priest Zhao and the other middle-aged ghost who had both died for centuries remained in the temple.
“Do you two want to go for reincarnation? I’m in a bit of a hurry.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned to ask after checking the sky outside.
“Priest Zhao, I…”
The ghost looked at Priest Zhao somewhat awkwardly.
Priest Zhao nodded. “I get it. Go on.”
“Priest Zhao, I think it’s a good idea to get reincarnated.” Then the ghost transformed into dark smoke and floated into Cheng Xiaoxiao’s jade pendant.
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked at Priest Zhao and asked, “Are you going to persist in your ways?”
In any case, she had already captured enough spirits today!
A yellow glow was already radiating from the jade pendant. Although it would be a boon to capture Priest Zhao, it wasn’t an entire loss if she didn’t.
Priest Zhao shook his head and walked over to the chair and suddenly sat down.
Just as Cheng Xiaoxiao was about to leave the abandoned temple, he suddenly shouted for her with his hands covering his face and tears brimming from his eyes as he asked, “Will Meng Po’s soup really make me forget everything in my past life?”
“Yes.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned to nod her head.
“Very well.” At the drop of his voice, the middle-aged man transformed into black smoke and flew into Cheng Xiaoxiao’s jade pendant.
His last words echoed in the atmosphere, “I want to forget about everything.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao instantly realized what the man in gray meant.
Although he devoured the spirits because he was under the formation’s control, he did it after all!
No matter how he attempted to justify his actions, the truth was the truth.
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked around the abandoned temple and checked to see that no spirits were left behind.
She saw how dark it was outside through the corner of her eyes through the dilapidated temple roof as she stretched upwards.
Oh no!
It was dreadfully late!
Cheng Xiaoxiao ran towards Prince Jing’s residence swiftly.
Just as she was about to wriggle into the dog hole, she noticed that the stray dogs’ buns were gone from the corner of her eyes.
Also, the stray dogs reached their heads towards her when they sensed her. However, they slumped their heads when they realized it was her.
Were they ignoring her because they didn’t like the bun?
Cheng Xiaoxiao’s lips curved into a smile. She made quite an accomplishment today, so she had gathered enough spiritual energy to sustain human form for ten minutes!
When she came out tomorrow, she would certainly buy those dogs some real meat and visit the bun shop at the corner of the street!
She darted in as she thought.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was about to head to Chu Yunshen’s room when she heard a woman’s cry.
“I saw His Highness’ cat! She’s over there!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao spotted a maid dressed in pink standing at a pavilion nearby, pointing at Cheng Xiaoxiao as she shouted to the servants who were combing the flower bed looking for the cat.
“Where!”
“Hey! Stop right there!”
“Hurry up and go after it!”
The servants ran toward her at top speed in unison.
“Meow!”
Had they learned nothing after all this time?
She wasn’t really a cat, so she didn’t like playing in the flower bed!
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned her head as she ran and glanced at the maids and servants running after her. Then she ran and jumped onto a high wall by the side.
She curled up on the wall lazily and looked down at the servants trying to reach her by standing on each other at the bottom of the wall.
“Be…be careful!”
“Don’t startle it!”
“Meow.”
Just as they were about to reach Cheng Xiaoxiao, she instantly stood up and walked over to Chu Yunshen’s room on the wall.
“She’s gone! The cat ran off!”
“Meow.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned her head and spat her tongue at them. Just as she was about to continue walking, she caught sight of a black outfit from the corner of her eye.
“Meow!”
She was so startled that she slipped and kept struggling to hold onto the wall. Fortunately, she was quick-witted enough and used her paws to cling onto the edge of the wall with her dear life and pulled herself back up.
“Your Highness!”
By the time Cheng Xiaoxiao steadied herself and looked down, all the servants and maids were already kneeling on the ground.
Chu Yunshen looked at her coldly with his face dark.
“Bring her over.”
At his order, Xiaowu flew out from behind Chu Yunshen and jumped gently on the wall before reaching his hand to scoop the white cat into his arms.
“Master.”
The moment Xiaowu landed on the ground, he immediately brought Cheng Xiaoxiao over to Chu Yunshen and handed the cat in his arms to him.
However, the cat kept holding on tightly to his robe.
He lowered his head and looked at the white cat perplexedly.
The white cat looked at him imploringly.
“Master?” Xiaowu shrugged with his palms upwards as he looked at Chu Yunshen.
Chu Yunshen was even angrier when he witnessed the scene. He yanked Cheng Xiaoxiao from Xiaowu’s arms and headed to the room without turning back.
Cheng Xiaoxiao could hear his heartbeat as she curled up in Chu Yunshen’s arms. She was so startled by how hard his heart was beating.
Chu Yunshen looked furious with her.
She raised her paw and rubbed Chu Yunshen chest.
“Meow.”
Don’t be angry.
Chu Yunshen lowered his eyes and glanced at her with an angry look in his eyes.
Cheng Xiaoxiao instantly shrunk her head into his chest and meowed softly.
Chu Yunshen touched her head and squeezed her face as he said, “You are going to get it from me,”
“Meow!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao shouted in horror and wanted to leave his embrace.
PAH!
A large hand smacked her head. Cheng Xiaoxiao turned to glare at Chu Yunshen indignantly.
Did cats have no rights?
He kept her locked in the room and didn’t let her go anywhere while he stayed out all day.
What gave him the right to punish him because she snuck out?
Shortly after they entered the room, Chu Yunshen said to Xiaowu behind him, “Bring the cord.”
“Yes, Master! I’m on it.”
Xiaowu glanced at Cheng Xiaoxiao as she lay in Chu Yunshen’s arms and bowed before he turned to leave.
The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao heard that Chu Yunshen had gotten Xiaowu to fetch the cord, she was furious.
She instantly waved her claws and wanted to escape Chu Yunshen.
Chu Yunshen narrowed his eyes and held her tightly by her waist and said coldly, “Do you admit your mistake?”
“Meow!”
She did nothing wrong!
Cheng Xiaoxiao meowed Chu Yunshen!
“So you think you did a good job sneaking out?” Chu Yunshen looked at Cheng Xiaoxiao and sneered.
“Meow!”
She was not in the wrong!
Cheng Xiaoxiao raised her paw and pulled Chu Yunshen’s robe hard as she stared dead straight at him.
“Meow meow!”
Let her go!
Chu Yunshen looked at Cheng Xiaoxiao.
They kept staring at each other and refused to give in.
“Master, I have the cord!”
Xiaowu knocked outside the door.
“Come in!” replied Chu Yunshen calmly with his eyes on Cheng Xiaoxiao.
Now Cheng Xiaoxiao turned to stare hard at the cord in Xiaowu’s hands.
“Meow!”
All her fur exploded. She arched her back in Chu Yunshen’s arms and prepared to attack as she hissed at Xiaowu.
“Meow!”
Go away!
“Tie her!”
Chu Yunshen’s icy cold voice rang by her ears completely bereft of any emotion!
Cheng Xiaoxiao had never heard Chu Yunshen talking so coldly to her before, so she felt mad.
When Xiaowu walked over with the cord, she brandished her claws and meowed nonstop as she stared at Chu Yunshen angrily.
“Meow!”
Why?
Why was he doing this to her?
She couldn’t take it!
Chu Yunshen’s heart couldn’t help going soft when he saw the stubbornness in the cat’s eyes as she lay in his arms.
He raised his hand and wanted to touch her head. Instead, the cat pushed it away with her paw!
“Meow!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao hid her head under her paws somewhat sadly.
Sure enough, princes were a fickle lot!
Hadn’t she always been this way?
Why the sudden drastic change? Did he have to punish her so severely?
“Master?”
Xiaowu stood at the side and was at a loss about the cord.
Chu Yunshen waved his hand at him.
Xiaowu instantly left with the cord.
After Xiaowu went out, Chu Yunshen let Cheng Xiaoxiao go.
The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao regained her freedom, she instantly ran inside the room. She shrank under the blanket and pulled it over her head.
