Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 66
Chapter 66 Mu Bai help!
Qin looked worriedly at the woman who the other concubines surrounded and said with her eyes red, “Miss! Are you okay?”
“Why are you shouting? It’s not like my mistress will eat her alive, right?”
A maid pushed Qin hard. Qin was caught off guard, and her head crashed right onto the pillar nearby.
“AHHH!”
The maids instantly screamed in shock when they saw Qin’s head covered in blood.
Their mistresses turned when they heard the noise and got shocked by what they saw. “I only told you to scare her! I didn’t say you could touch her! You really got us into trouble now! Hurry up and go before anyone else finds out!”
“Yes, Miss!”
The concubines were terrified of offending Prince Jing, so they instantly scattered.
“Meow!”
How could they run after hitting Qin?
They were such awful people!
She wanted to scratch their faces!
How dare they bully her savior!
“AHHH! My face! Where did this cat come from?” shouted a concubine in pain as she glared at the white cat by her feet in shock while she covered her face.
“Where did this wild cat come from? Go beat it to death, all of you!” said the concubine as she reached her slender hands out and pointed at Cheng Xiaoxiao angrily.
“Wait!” said one of the concubines as she raised her hand and stopped her, “Why do I find this cat familiar?”
“I find it familiar too.”
“Oh god! Look at the material her garments are made of. It’s made of the fine celestial silk the I had my eye on not long ago!” said a concubine as she pointed at Cheng Xiaoxiao’s garment.
She looked at Cheng Xiaoxiao with envy.
“That fabric is worth its weight in gold. How can the cat get to wear it like it was nothing?”
The concubines kept talking about Cheng Xiaoxiao.
“So…” said a concubine as she looked at another before they said in unison, “Don’t tell me she is… THAT CAT?”
“What cat?” asked another concubine who had yet to realize what was going on as she stared at the fabric the cat was dressed in.
“The cat that His Highness chased all the women out of the residence for.”
At the drop of her voice, all the concubines instantly retreated by a step as though Cheng Xiaoxiao was a virus.
“Go go! Leave now!”
“Ever since she came to the residence, we have been hiding here without going out at all! How did she manage to find us?”
“Quit talking! Go back to your rooms! Do you want His Highness to chase you out of the residence?”
Cheng Xiaoxiao watched as the courtyard instantly went quiet. Was she that scary?
Why were these women talking about her like she was some monster?
It sounded as though they would die if they encountered her.
“Qin!”
The moment Wan Xia regained freedom, she went over to Qin, who had passed out.
Qin came to and brightly smiled as she looked at Wan Xia. “I’m so glad you’re okay, Miss!” Then she fainted again.
“Qin!” shouted Wan Xia as she shook her, “Men! Send the doctor! Send the doctor now!”
Wan Xia shouted for a long time, but not a single one of the servants reacted.
Cheng Xiaoxiao discovered that this courtyard was on the most eastern side of the residence. However, she didn’t see a single servant on her way here.
Forget it!
She had to help since Wan Xia saved her before!
Cheng Xiaoxiao jumped up the wall and darted up before she jumped up the tree outside the courtyard. Then she ran all the way to Mu Bai’s room.
Mu Bai was preparing medicine when he saw the lion cat suddenly barge in. He couldn’t help saying in surprise, “Little fellow, did you sneak out again?”
“Meow!”
Come with her!
A life was at stake!
Cheng Xiaoxiao jumped up onto the table where Mu Bai’s medical kit was placed and pulled its strap with her paw.
“Meow!”
Hurry up!
“Did something happen to His Highness?”
The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao pounced on the medical kit, Mu Bai thought something had happened to Chu Yunshen.
He instantly picked up the medical kit and followed Cheng Xiaoxiao. After walking a long way, he realized the cat was leading her to Prince Jing’s rear court.
It was where Prince Jing’s women resided!
How could he go there?
At the thought, he took his medical kit and left.
After walking a little more, Cheng Xiaoxiao realized she could no longer hear Mu Bai’s footsteps, so she turned to see him leaving.
“Meow!”
Where are you going?
She needed him to save Qin!
Cheng Xiaoxiao instantly pounced onto Mu Bai and pulled the corner of his white robes towards Wan Xia’s quarters.
“Let me off, will you? That courtyard is filled with His Highness’ women!” said Mu Bai to Cheng Xiaoxiao as he yanked his robes out of her teeth, “I can’t enter without his approval.”
“Meow!”
But he was the only physician in the residence!
Cheng Xiaoxiao let go of him and raised her head, and kept meowing.
“What happened there? Why do you keep asking me to go?”
Mu Bai squatted down and rubbed Cheng Xiaoxiao’s head gently.
“Meow!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao spotted a pillar nearby and instantly ran into it.
“What are you doing, little fellow?”
Mu Bai instantly went over but realized the cat didn’t run into the pillar. She was only pretending to do it.
Mu Bai walked up to Cheng Xiaoxiao and tapped her head gently, and said as he observed, “Are you saying someone knocked into a pillar?”
“Meow!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao nodded. Congrats for getting it right!
She felt Mu Bai was rather smart.
Mu Bai glanced at Prince Jing’s rear court. The women have been living there carefully out of fear that Prince Jing would drive them away.
They have been staying out of trouble for so long without causing any rivalry.
Why did someone knock into a pillar today?
However, he couldn’t just walk in since Prince Jing wasn’t around.
But…
He lowered his head to look at the white cat by his feet. How could he talk to the cat for so long?
Perhaps he was exhausted from researching medicine.
He ought to go back to his room for a good rest.
“Meow!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao ran towards him and hissed when she saw Mu Bai leaving.
Mu Bai consoled Cheng Xiaoxiao without turning back, “Little fellow, mind your own business. Although those women in there aren’t favored, they are His Highness’ women after all. If they are really hurt, they can send their maids to ask the housekeeper to help.”
“Meow!”
Come back!
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned to look at Wan Xia’s compound before she turned to look at Mu Bai.
She kept clawing the earth with her claws.
“Meow.”
Don’t go!
After taking a few steps, Mu Bai suddenly recalled something Xiaowu said this morning.
“Dr Mu, can you give me a few pieces of dressing?”
“Are you hurt?”
“Nope.” Xiaowu shook his head as he showed Mu Bai the piece of cord in his hand. “His Highness wants to tie the little fellow up and keep her in the room with this. But he’s worried it’s too rough and might hurt her, so he sent me to take some dressing from you to wrap it.”
At the thought, Mu Bai turned to look at the lion cat and noticed she wasn’t wearing anything on her paw.
He turned back and lowered his head to say to the white cat, “Little fellow, you snuck out, right? I heard Xiaowu say His Highness is punishing you.”
“Meow!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao shivered and instantly ran off.
Something grabbed her by the waist, and all her four paws left the ground.
“It’s so odd.” Mu Bai held Cheng Xiaoxiao in front of him and smiled. “You are clearly this soft little bundle. Where did you find the courage to sneak into the palace?”
“Meow!”
None of your business!
Let her go!
Cheng Xiaoxiao brandished her claws as she hissed at Mu Bai.
Then the housekeeper happened to walk in with someone who looked like a physician.
“Dr Mu,” said the housekeeper as he bowed. Then he looked at the cat in his hands and said happily, “Oh god, we finally found her! We’ve been searching high and low in the residence!”
Mu Bai glanced at the physician behind and asked, “Where are you going?”
The housekeeper slapped his head. “Oh dear me, I forgot! The maid belonging to the new concubine, Wan Xia, knocked into a pillar! Please hold onto the cat first. I will bring the physician in now.”
Then he bowed to Mu Bai and led the physician into the Yulan compound.
“Meow!”
Wait for her!
Cheng Xiaoxiao instantly turned and jumped out of Mu Bai’s hands.
The moment the housekeeper heard a cat’s meow, a red silhouette whizzed past him before he could turn to look.
“Hey!” he instantly shouted in shock as he hurriedly followed behind Cheng Xiaoxiao with the physician, “Oh god, be careful!”
Mu Bai gripped his medical kit tightly as he glanced at Yulan quarters. Did the lion cat know Wan Xia?
He had never seen the lion cat so concerned with anyone.
However, it was Prince Jing’s rear court after all. He shook his head and turned to walk into the room. He ought to explain himself when Prince Jing got here.
He had to be careful of this woman, Wan Xia.
Cheng Xiaoxiao ran all the way into the courtyard and bumped right into a soft pillar.
“AHHH!”
A soft voice came from overhead. Cheng Xiaoxiao looked up to see Wan Xia with her eyes bloodshot from crying with a lot of blood on her chest.
“It’s you, little fellow!”
Wan Xia was shocked to see she had bumped into the white cat. Then she bent over and carried Cheng Xiaoxiao up.
“What are you doing here?” said Wan Xia to Cheng Xiaoxiao as she hurriedly carried her before walking out of the door in surprise.
Wan Xia instantly ran over when she saw the housekeeper with a man who looked like a physician walking over.
“You’re finally here.”
Wan Xia pulled out her handkerchief and wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes before giving way.
“Please examine my maid!”
The housekeeper spoke to physician before turning to look at the lion cat in Wan Xia’s arms as he walked over and said in surprise, “I can’t believe she would let you carry her.”
The cat was famous for being aloof.
Other than Prince Jing, if anyone else tried to carry her, she would scratch them!
Shortly after they made it to the door, the physician hurried out and bowed to the housekeeper as he said worriedly, “This young lady’s wound is too deep. She lost too much blood and might die!”
“What?”
The housekeeper immediately went into the room to see the 13 to 14-year-old maid lying on the bed with her eyes closed tightly.
Her little face was covered with blood with a blood-soaked handkerchief on her forehead.
Next to the bed was a pile of blood-drenched handkerchiefs along with a basin of water used for rinsing out the blood.
Dr Li removed the handkerchief.
