Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 62
Chapter 62 Save me, Chu Yunshen!
What did she just do?
This was the emperor’s favorite son, Prince Qing, Chu Jinshuo!
In his eyes, she was just a palace maid who was at everyone’s mercy!
What was he going to do to her?
Cheng Xiaoxiao raised her head and looked at Chu Jinshuo hopelessly at the thought.
Chu Jinshuo’s thin lips curved into an evil smile. His long index finger grazed the side of his lips as he stared at her profoundly and said, “You have quite the temper! I am very surprised.”
Then Chu Jinshuo reached his hand for Cheng Xiaoxiao’s waist.
It might be a pleasant surprise for Chu Jinshuo, but she was terrified!
Get out of the way!
She was running out of time!
Cheng Xiaoxiao saw claws growing out of her almost translucent fingertips. She didn’t know how much longer she could sustain human form. She quickly avoided the pervert’s hands as she moved backward.
After leaving through the hall entrance by a few steps, Chu Jinshuo’s guards surrounded her quickly.
“Are you trying to run?” asked Chu Jinshuo coldly before he stepped forward and continued, “The entire palace is my home. Where do you think you can run?”
“Your Highness, my supervisor is still waiting for me in the kitchen. If I don’t get back in time, she will start feeling anxious. Also, if His Majesty caught wind of this…”
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked left and right and quickly realized there was no escape for her.
She could only bow at Chu Jinshuo helplessly and talk about the nanny in the hope that Prince Qing would stop.
After all, the emperor was still at the banquet. If matters escalated, Prince Qing probably wouldn’t dare do anything for the sake of his image.
“Heh!” Chu Jinshuo laughed coldly. This palace maid was certainly cunning. He took a step forward and grabbed Cheng Xiaoxiao’s arm. Then he pulled her sleeve open and shook it. “You have quite the guts. How dare you threaten me?”
A few pieces of snacks fell out of Cheng Xiaoxiao’s sleeves immediately.
Chu Jinshuo glanced at the snacks scattered on the ground, and a wicked smile bloomed from his face again.
He went closer to Cheng Xiaoxiao and said with his lips close to Cheng Xiaoxiao’s ear, “I saw everything you did earlier! You better leave obediently with me, or else you’re done for!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked sadly at the delicacies she had painstakingly stolen lying on the ground. She clenched her fists tightly as fury filled her eyes.
Everyone in the palace had the same problem. Why did everyone keep wasting food?
“Are you scared now?”
Prince Qing’s loathsome voice came from overhead again.
“I’m a reasonable man! If you behave, I’ll reward you!”
“You!” Cheng Xiaoxiao raised her head and was about to scold Prince Qing when invisible energy came sweeping towards her.
The jade pendant on her neck felt a little warm while her heart thudded nonstop like it was about to leap from her heart.
No way!
She furtively glanced at her hands and saw that her fingertips were slowly turning translucent. She didn’t know how much longer she could stay human!
This stupid eighth prince!
Of all times, did he have to turn up and make trouble for her now?
She glared at Chu Jinshuo before turning to run immediately.
“Stop!”
A hand reached out for her, so she scratched it with her claw without looking. “Get out of my way!”
“OWWW!”
Chu Jinshuo’s angry voice came from above Cheng Xiaoxiao’s head. In an instant, Cheng Xiaoxiao got shoved hard.
“What are you doing?”
Cheng Xiaoxiao glared angrily at Chu Jinshuo.
“Stupid slave!”
Chu Jinshuo lowered his head to look at the scratches on his hand. He hastily grabbed Cheng Xiaoxiao’s chin and looked at her bloodthirstily. “I was trying to be nice!”
“Ouch! That hurts!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao grabbed Chu Jinshuo’s arm hard and struggled to pull it off as she shouted, “Let go…”
She felt as though Chu Jinshuo was about to snap her chin off, and it was burning in pain.
“If not for your beauty, do you think you are…” Chu Jinshuo glared at Cheng Xiaoxiao viciously as he spoke. He pinched Cheng Xiaoxiao’s chin as he pushed and made her topple to the side!
“You stupid slave, how dare you disrespect me. I am taking you back to Xuanhua Palace for punishment!” yelled Chu Jinshuo furiously.
“Yes, Your Highness!”
His guards immediately headed towards Cheng Xiaoxiao while she lay prone on the ground.
Cheng Xiaoxiao stood up shakily as an energy suppressed her so hard that she couldn’t breathe.
No!
Please!
Cheng Xiaoxiao didn’t want to transform into a cat now!
She had to hang in there!
“Brother Jinshuo, why are you so angry with a little servant?”
A familiar voice suddenly rang from in front of Cheng Xiaoxiao. It was music to her ears.
Cheng Xiaoxiao hastily looked up towards the voice.
Chu Yunshen was half leaning on a pillar outside the hall entrance with his arms crossed as he looked at her languidly.
“She broke the rules, so I’m going to get the palace maid supervisor to punish her!” explained Chu Jinshuo coldly with his hands behind him as he looked at Prince Jing.
Teach her a lesson? As if!
He clearly wanted to…
Chu Yunshen, save her!
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked at Chu Yunshen imploringly as she struggled.
The guard immediately held onto Cheng Xiaoxiao’s arm as he ordered softly, “Don’t move!”
“Let me go!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao struggled with all her might and finally wrenched the guard’s hand free. She quickly scratched him hard just as he was about to reach over for her again.
“AHHH!”
The guard behind him screamed loudly as Cheng Xiaoxiao darted behind Chu Yunshen.
Chu Jinshuo watched as Cheng Xiaoxiao hid behind Chu Yunshen. Then he glanced at the guard threateningly for being so useless that he couldn’t apprehend a woman.
“Forgive me, Your Highness!” begged the guard as he knelt instantly.
Chu Jinshuo sneered coldly. He turned to Chu Yunshen and pointed at the food on the ground and said, “Brother Yunshen, I can let her off for being rude, but she even stole food. That is a serious offense!”
“Since she is a palace maid, then her supervisor will take care of her. Even if she committed a mistake, there is a way of going about punishing her. Why get yourself involved for nothing?” Chu Yunshen glanced at the palace maid behind him with his eyes narrowed as she held on tightly to his robe. She resembled his cat when she came running towards him.
He rubbed his temple as he was having a headache. His father treated him to some 100-year-old osmanthus wine earlier. Despite its sweet flavor, it was very strong.
After a few drinks, his face was starting to feel warm, and his head felt giddy.
So he left Xiaowu in the hall while he went for a walk.
The moment he came out of the hall, he caught sight of Chu Jinshuo pulling the palace maid.
He couldn’t help speaking up when he saw the helpless look in her eyes as she got held down by the guards.
The woman unexpectedly ran behind him, hoping that he would save her even though they were unacquainted.
Did he look like a kind, charitable person to her?
“Let go!” Chu Yunshen pulled his robe.
Cheng Xiaoxiao shook her head. The moment she caught sight of Chu Yunshen, all the indignance in her heart instantly exploded. She couldn’t help whining as she held on tightly to Chu Yunshen’s robe and muttered, “No way!”
A cold sweet scent of the wine in the atmosphere wafted into his nose. Was he drunk?
There was a faint osmanthus scent in the wine. Was it the 100-year-old osmanthus wine which the emperor had just given him?
“Let go,” said Chu Yunshen sternly again.
“No way!” said Cheng Xiaoxiao with her eyes slightly red as she held on tightly. She shrank her hands into her sleeves before she raised her head and looked at Chu Yunshen with tears welling in her eyes.
Chu Yunshen felt an itch in his heart when he looked straight into her eyes, which were on the brink of tears. The way she was looking at him resembled the cat he had at home.
Each time the little fellow wanted to beg him to do something, she would earnestly look at him like this.
While Cheng Xiaoxiao and Chu Yunshen looked at each other, Chu Jinshuo’s evil laughter suddenly came. “Brother Yunshen, don’t tell me you have your eyes on the palace maid?”
Chu Yunshen coldly laughed as he looked at Cheng Xiaoxiao with contempt and said, “She has neither figure nor status. She can’t compare to Wan Xia at all. Why would I fancy her?”
Cheng Xiaoxiao suddenly let go of Chu Yunshen and glared at him furiously. What did he just say?
Chu Yunshen was caught by surprise. However, he continued, “There are rules in the palace. You ought to know that Her Majesty is the one who has the final say about palace maids. If you want to interfere, she might catch wind, and it won’t turn out good for you either.”
Chu Jinshuo’s expression swiftly altered as he glanced at Chu Yunshen coldly.
Everyone in the palace knew Chu Jinshuo and his mother were the emperor’s favorites, but the empress had the final say.
If the empress found out about the palace maid, it might end up hurting his mother.
Chu Jinshuo mulled before he gritted his teeth and said, ‘Fine! I was careless. I will handle the palace maid just as you suggested!”
Then he walked out with his guards.
Chu Jinshuo was the emperor’s favorite child.
Who did Chu Yunshen think he was?
He was just an unloved prince!
A lowly servant and a lowly prince sure made a perfect match!
He wanted to play with this palace maid!
However, she wasn’t good enough for him to sully his hands!
“Thank you for saving me, Your Highness.”
The moment Prince Qing left, Cheng Xiaoxiao let go of Chu Yunshen’s robes before she bowed and ran off.
Chu Yunshen caught sight of a corner of the jade pendant hanging from Cheng Xiaoxiao’s neck as she turned.
Chu Yunshen narrowed his dark eyes as fury emerged in his eyes. How could a palace maid wear a jade pendant?
He thought this palace maid was only caught for stealing food.
The palace maid had unexpectedly flouted more rules…
He saved the wrong person!
Cheng Xiaoxiao ran madly, wanting to find somewhere safe to hide!
She was running out of time!
Cheng Xiaoxiao noticed white cat fur already growing from the hand she was holding Chu Yunshen with.
She was going to transform into a cat in no time!
“AHHH! What’s that?” screamed a woman sharply all of a sudden.
Cheng Xiaoxiao felt her eyes go dark as the energy racked her body. She looked at the gleaming lake water as she toppled.
In a second, there was a loud plop.
Lots of salty water surged into her lungs. A bright light shot out of her jade pendant as her mind went blank. She had already changed back into a cat by the time she regained consciousness.
“Meow!”
Save her!
She was drowning!
Cheng Xiaoxiao struggled nonstop in the water.
