Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 30
Chapter 30 Eight-trigram formation
Gu Bixuan stood at the Gu residence’s gateway as she watched Prince Jing get onto his black horse outside the residence.
She lamented as she gazed at Prince Jing, disappearing into the distance.
Once upon a time, she had a crush on Prince Jing but knew she wasn’t good enough for him.
Now that Prince Jing was right before her, they were forever separated by death.
“Laifu, let’s go in.”
Gu Bixuan watched as Laifu helped Gu Ruoshan up. Then she floated to the other side to help support him by the arm.
Gu Ruoshan sensed a cold wind sweeping past him. Then he couldn’t help shuddering as he said, “Laifu, burn more joss paper for Xuan’er later.”
“Yes, Master,” said Laifu as he nodded.
The moment Gu Bixuan got up the steps in front of the doorway, a conversation emerged in her mind.
“Sir, I promise that the moment Prince Jing comes in, he’ll die without a doubt! Sir, tell your higher-ups there is nothing to worry about. I have cleaned all my tracks, so no one will learn that Prince Jing has died here.”
“Good.”
Gu Bixuan went into a daze. Then she recalled seeing an important scene before she died.
She vaguely heard someone talking in the house. When she looked around through the corner of her eye, she spotted an older man dressed in a strange outfit kneeling to someone with her back facing her.
And the man wore a mask.
Gu Bixuan trembled. Prince Jing couldn’t go to the Luohun Forest!
She hastily let go of Gu Ruoshan and floated out of the residence.
BAM!
A horse carriage suddenly stopped.
The cage which was wound with fabric fell suddenly and knocked against the table by the side.
Cheng Xiaoxiao hit her head on the cage ceiling and passed out.
“56789067!”
A cold voice suddenly penetrated through a black fog. Cheng Xiaoxiao suddenly sensed herself falling after staying caged in this space for some time.
“AH!”
She suddenly opened her eyes. Then a cold gust of wind swept towards her before she wrapped her mind around where she was.
“Number 56789067, you committed 289 good deeds in your past life. The Ma family from the 21st century is now giving birth to a daughter with an excellent life who will live to the ripe age of 99. I order you to follow Hei Wuchang and Bai Wuchang to the Meng Po pavilion to get reincarnated immediately.”
When did Cheng Xiaoxiao commit so many good deeds?
Cheng Xiaoxiao stared dumbstruck as the ox-headed and horse-faced demons made the announcement.
She looked around to see Bai Wuchang and Hei Wuchang standing beside her. Then she instantly realized what was going on.
Bai Wuchang gently smiled as he nodded at Cheng Xiaoxiao.
Hei Wuchang grinned and said, “Miss Xiaoxiao, congratulations!”
Was she dreaming?
“Be good and wait for me at home.”
Chu Yunshen’s deep voice suddenly swept by her ears. Cheng Xiaoxiao turned back to see that there was nothing but pitch-black darkness behind her and a few yellowed white lanterns hanging in the air.
Farewell, Chu Yunshen.
Hei Wuchang and Bai Wuchang stood guard on Cheng Xiaoxiao’s left and right as they walked by the river and headed to the Meng Po pavilion.
Red and white flowers were blooming on the river. They were either snow-white or blood red, and each flower was of a pure color and gave off a faint glow.
A gust of wind swept by and left a faint floral scent wafting in the air.
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked at the brightly colored flowers on the river. Were they the legendary hell flowers?
Using their faint glow, she could vaguely see a black river flowing beneath them. It flowed at an unhurried and steady pace and gently washed over the hell flowers’ roots as it moved without a single ripple.
A woman’s head suddenly craned out from the river.
Cheng Xiaoxiao got a shock. Hei Wuchang shouted. Then the woman’s head slowly sunk back into the river with a look of indignance on her face.
This time, Cheng Xiaoxiao kept some distance from the river.
When Cheng Xiaoxiao went past the Meng Po bridge, she stopped to look at the Meng Po pavilion nearby. There was a huge pot sitting inside the pavilion.
She heard that after drinking Meng Po’s soup, she would forget everything about this lifetime.
“Miss, you’re here,” said a kindly old lady standing in the pavilion as she welcomed Cheng Xiaoxiao warmly. She was dressed in a simple outfit with a bowl of soup in her hand.
“Mhm,” replied Cheng Xiaoxiao as she nodded. Then she quickly walked over to Meng Po. She was going to become human soon!
She was thrilled!
She suddenly heard someone calling from behind just as her left foot went up the steps.
“Wait!”
Who was that?
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned her head quizzically to see Hei Wuchang and Bai Wuchang holding Gu Bixuan on each side as they pressed her into a kneeling position.
Gu Bixuan struggled to raise her head, and hair fell onto her pale face. Then she said, “Please save Prince Jing. Someone laid an ambush in Luohun Forest to take his life!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao got a shock from hearing the news.
Meng Po’s voice came from the pavilion, “Hell flowers bloom brightly as spirits lament over the Naihe bridge. Our lives are nothing but dreams. From youth to old age, all it takes is a second for it to be over. After drinking my soup, you will relinquish your past.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned to look at the bowl of soup in Meng Po’s hand. Then she placed her right foot forward.
Chu Yunshen was surrounded by talented fighters. Why would he need a cat to save him?
She took another step with that thought in her mind.
Chu Yunshen was a highly skilled martial artist who had survived all kinds of ambushes before. How could he die so easily?
Then she moved up one more step.
“Miss, everyone has their own destinies,” came Meng Po’s kind voice from overhead, “It is time for you to reincarnate.
Meng Po looked at Cheng Xiaoxiao, who was a mere step away from her. Then she handed the soup in her hand to Cheng Xiaoxiao.
Before she uttered a word, Cheng Xiaoxiao had already disappeared!
“Miss?” asked Meng Po as she glanced at the empty steps. Then she turned to pour the bowl of soup back into the pot as she sighed helplessly.
After Cheng Xiaoxiao came out of the Netherworld, she headed for the Luohun Forest.
Chu Yunshen, I gave up my chance to reincarnate for your sake. You must wait for me!
The forest was filled with corpses of men dressed in black. There was blood everywhere on the leaves. Pools of blood converged and seeped
“Hear my order, jade pendant, and open my eyes.”
When she opened her eyes, she could see balls of black fog intertwining together, giving off an entrancing magical aura.
Luohun Forest was covered by a purple barrier. Somewhere in the forest was a cliff covered with dark purple seals.
Cheng Xiaoxiao scoured the place for Chu Yunshen. Then she suddenly found an abandoned house. Red thread separated the house into many rooms while a deathly aura radiated from the red thread.
Cheng Xiaoxiao hastily ran towards the room.
……
Chu Yunshen tightened his grip on the sword as he stared hard at the corner of the room. He saw several trembling black silhouettes cringing in the corner.
Chu Yunshen glanced behind him. Where had Xiaowu gone?
Then Xiaowu suddenly ran anxiously towards him from a room beside him.
“Master!”
Chu Yunshen was just about to ask where he had gone when a sword glow swept towards him. Chu Yunshen swiftly raised his sword to block the attack.
“I’m going to kill you!” Xiaowu stood before him with his eyes red. A strange glow emanated from his eyes.
“Xiaowu!” shouted Chu Yunshen coldly as he raised his foot and kicked him again.
Chu Yunshen kicked hard with a thud aiming squarely at Xiaowu’s belly.
But Xiaowu seemed unhurt and continued hacking towards Chu Yunshen.
Just as Xiaowu’s sword was about to cut off Chu Yunshen’s head, Chu Yunshen hastily pierced his sword into Xiaowu’s heart.
PAH!
The image before him splintered into pieces.
Chu Yunshen stared in surprise as several doors appeared before him.
A hallucination?
Chu Yunshen glanced at the corner of the room. Then the dark silhouettes huddled even more tightly together in terror.
When Chu Yunshen walked towards them, they instantly ran elsewhere in the room.
Chu Yunshen was never a superstitious man.
He raised his sword to hack the door, and it broke into pieces!
Then Chu Yunshen strode in briskly.
A familiar floral scent floated in the air. Chu Yunshen tightened his grip on his sword. He found the scent awfully familiar.
He clenched his fists tightly as he stared at the room where the scent was coming from.
This room…
Chu Yunshen’s eyes turned a little red as his sword hand trembled.
“Shen’er!”
Chu Yunshen instantly got a shock. His sword fell to the ground with a thud.
Then a human silhouette came out from the room.
She… She…
Chu Yunshen trembled hard. His heart palpitated nervously while his breathing became uneven. It was all exceptionally clear in this strange quiet atmosphere.
“Shen’er. Come over.”
Chu Yunshen clearly knew it was impossible for her to turn up here, but he stepped forward uncontrollably towards her.
“My son, Shen’er. Come to your mother.”
An elegant woman dressed in a purple palace dress came out from a luxurious room.
There was a plate of food in her hand.
And she waved at Chu Yunshen lovingly.
“Shen’er, mother made you your favorite osmanthus cake. Come try it!” The woman smiled kindly
Chu Yunshen raised his hand and outlined the woman’s face through the air as he said, “Mother.”
‘Shen’er, come!” The woman waved at Chu Yunshen nonstop. He kept going forward as her red lips called for him almost entrancingly.
“Mother, Father praised me for being a bright boy today.”
“Mhm, I know Shen’er is the best.”
“Mother! 8th Little Brother purposely shoved me into the water! Why did you defend him in front of Father?”
“Shen’er, you don’t understand. Not arguing about it will allow us to win.”
“I don’t get it.”
“You’ll know in time.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao charged into the house to see Chu Yunshen looking lovingly at a ball of black fog. His hand was holding the black fog as though he was about to leave with it.
“Meow!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao suddenly meowed hysterically.
The woman before him suddenly trembled like a sheet of paper. Then Chu Yunshen suddenly woke up. His mother was long dead!
She wasn’t fit to be his mother!
“Shen’er!”
The woman reached her hand out to him, “Come to me.”
Chu Yunshen’s sword hand trembled. As he gazed at the face which visited him in his dreams countless times, a sad feeling rose in his heart.
“Meow!” Cheng Xiaoxiao darted towards the black fog, which wanted to harass Chu Yunshen again, and hissed at it.
Chu Yunshen lowered his head to see the lion cat by his feet. How did the little fellow find her way here?
“Shen’er!” rang the woman’s voice again.
Chu Yunshen hastily raised his sword. Then he closed his eyes as he hacked the woman dressed in a palace costume while he asked, “Who are you?”
The woman dodged. Then she looked at him tearfully and said pitifully, “Shen’er, how can you hack your mother?”
“Shut up!” yelled Chu Yunshen as he hacked the woman into half without hesitation!
PAH!
There was a crisp snap.
When Chu Yunshen opened his eyes, he found himself in a room with many doors.
Chu Yunshen tightened his grip on his sword while hot air suddenly gushed towards him from behind.
He suddenly turned to see the house burn up.
“Help me, Shen’er! Help me!”
Chu Yunshen looked at the woman as she stood in the fire. He furrowed his brows tightly. Not again!
Something small tugged the corner of his robe just as he was about to hack the woman once more.
