Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 190
Chapter 190 See her
Cheng Xiaoxiao seemed a little excited when she went to the prison even though she did not notice it. Instead, she kept complaining about Xiao Qin.
“I don’t know what came over you. You want to see her one last time, so why send me to do it? I really don’t know what you are thinking…”
Cheng Xiaoxiao’s muttering came to an abrupt halt when she arrived at the jail cell with Wan Xia inside. It suddenly felt as though her legs were filled with lead and it was impossible for her to take a single step.
She swallowed her saliva with great difficulty as she kept cursing Xiao Qin inside her heart.
What was Xiao Qin trying to do? Why did she send a lion cat into the prison? It wasn’t like she could talk, so it was impossible for her to pass any messages.
Should she write it on the ground? Probably not…
Cheng Xiaoxiao walked around the damaged wooden table a few times but refused to come close to Wan Xia. She even looked at Chu Yunshen’s handiwork intriguingly.
Judging from the remnants of the table, it was clearly Chu Yunshen’s handiwork.
Why did Chu Yunshen suddenly decide to break the table? Was he trying to show off in front of Wan Xia?
Cheng Xiaoxiao speculated mischievously with no intention of continuing to walk.
“Go on!”
Xiao Qin’s frail voice came from the prison entrance. Since the lion cat refused to budge, Xiao Qin shouted once more even more loudly, “Hurry up will you?”
“Fine, fine,! I heard you the first time! I’m on it!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao spoke patronizingly without even turning her head as she muttered to herself, “Why the hurry? Can’t you even give me some time to prepare myself mentally?”
Hang on what was with her tone?
What was with her tone of voice? They were hardly friends anymore.
Cheng Xiaoxiao felt absolutely disgusted by her unexpected tone. Now, she was able to meet Wan Xia calmly.
Also, she was afraid Xiao Qin would keep reminding her. She could already envision Xiao Qin hiding behind the prison’s main entrance craning in only her head spookily.
She wondered from whom Xiao Qin learned to scare people so effectively.
A lot of thoughts ran through Cheng Xiaoxiao’s mind as she walked up to Wan Xia’s prison cell. Now, the only thing dividing them was the wooden bars.
Wan Xia was sitting with her back leaning against the wooden bars. When Cheng Xiaoxiao finally got to Wan Xia’s cell, Cheng Xiaoxiao deliberately made some noise, making Wan Xia turn and check.
“You’re here.”
Wan Xia didn’t seem surprised to see Cheng Xiaoxiao, but she sounded faintly excited.
Cheng Xiaoxiao started to feel awkward. She really wanted to turn and leave, but she promptly gave in when she recalled the miserable look on Xiao Qin’s face.
Fine! What had to come, had to come!
Cheng Xiaoxiao pretended to be composed as she jumped in through the wooden bars. Unfortunately, only her head and upper torso made it through the wooden bars while her behind and hind legs dangled in the air.
Things got morbidly awkward.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was stuck in between the bars incapable of budging. No matter how she attempted to move, it was futile.
The instant the lion cat got stuck, Wan Xia made eye contact with the lion cat and froze briefly.
After the lion cat struggled a couple of times, the tense atmosphere finally dissipated.
Wan Xia burst out laughing at the sight of the lion cat. The lion cat ended up wriggling her body even more violently when she caught Wan Xia laughing.
Wan Xia laugh more loudly as she pointed at the lion cat. The dimples on her face could be seen for some time until she finally said, “Let me help!”
Even though she was still laughing as she spoke, she reached her hands out to carry the lion cat.
The lion cat stopped moving when Wan Xia’s cool hands touched her fur. She froze while she was stuck in between the bars.
Wan Xia seemed unaccustomed to the lion cat’s warmth. The moment she touched her soft fur, she froze briefly before she cautiously saved the lion cat.
Her actions were gentle and natural. It felt as though they were back to the good old days when Wan Xia would come to the lion cat’s rescue whenever she was in trouble.
“Don’t move, okay? These wooden bars have a lot of splinters.”
Wan Xia protected the lion cat with her hands. Initially, she was laughing out loud, but she ended up softly reminding the lion cat to be careful with a smile on her face.
This familiar voice promptly struck a chord in Cheng Xiaoxiao deeply making her emotional.
In an instant, she felt as though someone had secretly released tear gas inside the prison. Otherwise, why would her eyes feel teary for no reason?
“All done.”
Wan Xia’s voice echoed throughout the relatively small jail cell. The lion cat was already carried in through the wooden bars unscathed. Wan Xia’s hands were injured by the rough wooden bars covered with splinters once more.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was still in a daze, so she did not react when Wan Xia suddenly removed her cool hands from Cheng Xiaoxiao’s body.
By the time Cheng Xiaoxiao snapped out of her daze, she had been standing on the cool damp ground for some time. Wan Xia was smiling at Cheng Xiaoxiao as she squatted in front of her.
Wan Xia didn’t interrupt the lion cat when she went into a daze. She simply kept looking at the lion cat as though she couldn’t get enough of looking at the lion cat.
Wan Xia looked at the lion cat tenderly with her big beautiful eyes. It felt as though she wanted to touch the lion cat’s fur badly. For some reason, she did not do it.
It was impossible to ignore Wan Xia’s staring, but Cheng Xiaoxiao didn’t feel like making eye contact with Wan Xia. Also, she felt very awkward from Wan Xia’s staring.
Could she please stop staring? Why did Wan Xia keep staring at Cheng Xiaoxiao?
Cheng Xiaoxiao was already aware of her recent weight gain. She had already made up her mind to go on a diet. Did Wan Xia have to keep staring?
The lion cat waved its tail uneasily. She pretended to casually tilt her head sideways as she looked at the mold-covered walls in the jail cell.
She seemed particularly interested in the jail cell and had started to elegantly walk around it.
Please stop looking at her…
Cheng Xiaoxiao kept saying to herself inside. Wasn’t it obvious now that she was walking around the jail cell?
Did the evil Wan Xia have to keep doing this? Wan Xia kept looking at the lion cat while the lion cat walked around the jail cell.
After the lion cat had walked around the jail cell five times, she finally stopped impatiently and looked up at Wan Xia, and stopped huffily.
She kept staring at Wan Xia with her contrasting eyes as Wan Xia smiled. The lion cat seemed to be telling her, “Yes! I am what I am. If you can’t handle it that is too bad!”
“Are you finally going to stop ignoring me?”
A sneaky smile emerged on Wan Xia’s face. She was squatting with her legs together and her arms crossed on her knees with her chin leaning against one arm.
In this position, it was easier for Wan Xia to lower her head and look at the lion cat. Also, the lion cat could see Wan Xia the moment she raised her head slightly.
The lion cat detected the teasing tone in Wan Xia’s voice, so she waved her claw at Wan Xia threateningly without hesitation.
When the paw was in midair, she had already retracted her claws. The moment she hit Wan Xia’s arm with her paw, her paw felt cool to the touch.
Wan Xia naturally didn’t dodge Cheng Xiaoxiao. Instead, Wan Xia pulled her hand out and held it in front of the lion cat after the lion cat was done hitting her.
The lion cat looked at Wan Xia quizzically with her head tilted. She seemed puzzled by Wan Xia’s reaction.
Was she a masochist? What was going on with everyone lately?
Chu Yunshen did something similar as well and let Cheng Xiaoxiao throw things at him. Now, Wan Xia was voluntarily letting Cheng Xiaoxiao hit her.
Sure enough, something must have happened between them. They must be behaving this way because of the guilt.
The moment the lion cat recalled the moaning she heard from them, her eyes turned solemn. She instantly gave Wan Xia a cold look.
Wan Xia had already reached her hands out to squeeze the lion cat’s chubby face, but she instantly halted when she detected the coldness radiating from the lion cat out of the blue.
The bright smile on her face instantly froze and the dimples on her face gradually disappeared and got sucked away by the cold atmosphere in the jail cell.
Wan Xia sheepishly pulled her hands back and rubbed them unhurriedly as she pretended to say nonchalantly, “I think it is starting to get a little cold.”
The lion cat knew Wan Xia was simply trying to make small talk but she kept scratching the ground with her paws and refused to look up at Wan Xia.
Wan Xia did not insist. She simply went back to her previous position and leaned with her back against the wooden bars.
A thin crescent moon was hanging outside the skylight.
The crescent moon was hanging in the sky solitarily without a single star or even a cloud in sight.
Perhaps because it was the only thing in the sky, the moon seemed a little lonely and was only giving off a faint glow. It was so faint that it was almost indiscernible to the human eye.
“I really don’t like Chu Yunshen. I mean it this time.”
Wan Xia broke the silence and awkward atmosphere inside the jail cell. Her soft voice echoed through the air. Even though she spoke softly, it sounded particularly clear to Cheng Xiaoxiao.
Even though Cheng Xiaoxiao had heard every word she said, Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t understand what she was trying to say.
Did Wan Xia think she was stupid because she was a cat?
Cheng Xiaoxiao certainly didn’t feel she could be so easily fooled.
Cheng Xiaoxiao walked to the other end of the jail cell impatiently and deliberately veered her eyes.
She purposely walked off particularly loudly in an exaggerated and unrestrained manner.
Wan Xia did not feel upset when she saw the lion cat’s poor attitude. Instead, she glanced at the lion cat as she smiled.
In comparison to how lonely she looked when she gazed at the moon, her skinny face looked slightly more alive in the dim light.
“I know there is no reason for you to trust me anymore, but I really want to tell you the truth while I can.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao continued to act disinterested as she sat with her back facing Wan Xia far away. However, Cheng Xiaoxiao’s ears had given her away as they stood erect and trembled slightly.
“I always knew you were extraordinary. You can understand human language and our emotions. Sometimes, I even wonder if you are in fact a supernatural being of some sort.”
Wan Xia seemed a little tired, so she leaned her head against her arm. Every word she uttered sounded like a faint sigh.
“If none of those things happened to me, I would have treated you like a real friend. Maybe not Chu Yunshen. I genuinely can’t bring myself to like him.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao’s back went stiff. She wanted to turn back and check out Wan Xia’s expression, but she didn’t dare to do it. For a moment, she simply froze and didn’t know what to do.
