Chapter 187 Made sure the truth came out
Xiao Yue spoke very softly, but Cheng Xiaoxiao heard everything since she was a lion cat. Xiaowu and Chu Yunshen were highly skilled martial artists, so the three of them heard every word they said.
Xiaowu sighed as he shook his head while he stood behind Wan Xia. A light glinted in Chu Yunshen’s eyes briefly. He seemed puzzled by Xiao Yue’s loyalty towards Wan Xia.
Cheng Xiaoxiao did not turn back and simply scoffed.
In her eyes, Wan Xia was a cold-blooded animal. Even though Xiao Yue was willing to die for her, Cheng Xiaoxiao knew Wan Xia probably didn’t care and would even use Xiao Yue because she was loyal.
Sadly, Cheng Xiaoxiao did not turn back, so she failed to see the look of surprise on Wan Xia’s face. Also, she did not see her voluntarily reaching her hand out to pat Xiao Yue on the back of her hand to comfort her.
“Silly lass. Everything will be fine.”
Everyone heard what Wan Xia said.
Cheng Xiaoxiao felt very annoyed when she heard how happy and calm Wan Xia was. Now that things had come to this, did this woman still think she could get away with it unscathed?
Very well then!
Cheng Xiaoxiao wanted to personally make sure the truth would get exposed!
Cheng Xiaoxiao was particularly determined to find the fragrance and check out Wan Xia’s terrified expression when she did.
The small dark room was very tiny, so Chu Yunshen made it to the altar in just a few steps.
“Master, allow me!”
Xiaowu finally caught up with Chu Yunshen in the front. He was terrified Chu Yunshen would go first again.
Chu Yunshen noticed the lion cat’s nonchalance. He contemplated before letting Xiaowu do the honor.
He thought the lion cat would come over and stop him out of concern, but she surprisingly didn’t react this time.
Sure enough, the trick only worked the first time around and was useless on the second try.
If she knew the truth about the things Chu Yunshen was thinking, she would come over and pummel him now.
She was genuinely worried about Chu Yunshen, but here he was plotting against her! He was completely inhuman and heartless!
Cheng Xiaoxiao had already destroyed the formation and she did not notice anything wrong with her third eye.
This meant the box on the altar must be an ordinary box now. The fragrance in the box possessed incredible powers previously, but now that the formation was destroyed, it had probably gone back to normal.
In that case, it didn’t matter who opened the box. Cheng Xiaoxiao simply wanted them to find the fragrance as soon as possible. The pretentious Wan Xia would have nothing to say by then except to kneel and beg for mercy.
Cheng Xiaoxiao wanted to see if Wan Xia would still be capable of acting in this repulsively pretentious manner when the truth was out.
CLICK!
Xiaowu opened the box gently.
Cheng Xiaoxiao held her breath and didn’t dare to make a sound. She was afraid something other than the fragrance was lying inside the box.
Fortunately, things did not end up too dramatic. After Xiaowu opened the heavy wooden box, Cheng Xiaoxiao saw an exquisitely made porcelain bottle quietly lying inside.
The porcelain bottle was very small and roughly half the size of a woman’s palm. It was pure white and there was a drawing of a pair of phoenixes and lotuses with flowers surrounding both the phoenixes.
The paint did not resemble a product of this era since it was particularly bright and vivid. It seemed like watercolor which could only be found in modern times.
The color genuinely seemed overly saturated and gave off a strange white glow even though there was no light in the dark small room.
Sadly, the vivid color on the white bottle lost its strange glow and turned grey and dim the moment Xiaowu took it out of the box.
Now, it seemed as though the porcelain bottle was covered with a layer of dust. However, it was impossible to wipe the dust off.
Xiaowu tried his luck and kept exhaling on the porcelain bottle before wiping it with a corner of his sleeve carefully. Unfortunately, the porcelain bottle remained in the same dim state and its colors had reverted to the gray paint which was available in this era.
That was more like it.
Cheng Xiaoxiao felt unsurprised. Now that the formation was broken, the fragrance naturally went back to normal after the yang energies that were feeding it was gone.
Xiaowu carefully opened the porcelain bottle. Just as he was about to take a whiff, Chu Yunshen stopped him.
“Don’t smell it!”
Xiaowu looked at Chu Yunshen at a loss. Sometime later, he finally realized it was dangerous to do it.
Cheng Xiaoxiao went speechless when she heard what Xiaowu said. Hadn’t he heard what Xiao Qin said? Was he openly daydreaming?
Xiaowu scratched his head sheepishly before he said to Chu Yunshen with the fragrance in hand, “I was possessed by the fragrance, so I got careless.”
That was not true!
He was not controlled by the fragrance at all!
Wake up, Xiaowu! It was pure stupidity at work here! He was born stupid, and there was no hiding it.
The lion cat was clearly looking at Xiaowu in contempt. Xiaowu waved his fist at her threateningly, but he turned and caught Chu Yunshen staring at him coldly.
Xiaowu smiled sheepishly and hurriedly hid his fist behind himself.
The lion cat rolled her eyes once more.
He shouldn’t smell the fragrance directly, but it was safe to fan it gently and take a quick whiff.
Xiaowu fanned the fragrance in this direction and checked a few times before he nodded to Chu Yunshen.
“Master, this is the same scent Miss Wan Xia is wearing.”
Perfect!
This felt great!
Cheng Xiaoxiao was just waiting for this. The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao heard what Xiaowu said, she almost wanted to sing and dance!
Wan Xia raised her head unhurriedly and looked at Xiaowu fixedly. “In that case, are you attracted to me?”
Even though her voice continued to sound a little hypnotic, everyone felt the chills just listening to her.
“Miss Wan Xia, please watch your tongue.”
Xiaowu almost gnashed his teeth as he squeezed the words from behind his teeth.
No one expected Wan Xia to suddenly change. Even though Xiao Qin had already told them the back story, it could not compare to seeing Wan Xia’s attitude now.
Was she finally showing her true self?
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked at Wan Xia in disdain. Cheng Xiaoxiao almost wanted to throw up the food she had eaten today when she saw the disgusting seductive look on Wan Xia’s face.
Wan Xia hastily stopped smiling seductively. She probably reverted and looked like an elegant innocent fairy. She changed her tune so quickly that Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t believe it.
“Since it did not happen, it goes to show there is nothing wrong with the fragrance. As for what Xiao Qin has just said, it was pure speculation.”
Despite Wan Xia’s soft tone, her resounding voice echoed throughout the small dark room.
The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao heard what Wan Xia said, she looked at Wan Xia in shock. She seemed blown away by how far Wan Xia could go with this bullshit.
Cheng Xiaoxiao had never seen anyone as shameless as her. A few hours ago, Wan Xia was like family to her.
However, she was poles apart now.
“Take her away.”
Chu Yunshen was always a decisive man. Now that he had Xiao Qin as a witness and there was physical evidence, he naturally would not give Wan Xia the chance to deny it.
“Yes, Master.”
Xiaowu closed the porcelain bottle and placed it in his sleeve. He didn’t even feel like touching Wan Xia and simply told her to get out.
Wan Xia laughed coldly without retorting. She simply glanced at Chu Yunshen condescendingly before she elegantly straightened her garments and walked past Xiaowu to leave the small dark room.
After Wan Xia left the room on her own, Xiaowu followed up behind her.
After Wan Xia got to the door, she even stopped and turned her head sideways to say something to Xiaowu, but he did not acknowledge Wan Xia.
Her voice was simply too soft. Despite being a lion cat with excellent hearing, Cheng Xiaoxiao could only vaguely hear a few words and it was about Xiao Yue.
Was she finally going to do something to Xiao Yue now?
It was only natural for Cheng Xiaoxiao to be worried since Wan Xia was very cruel to Xiao Qin. Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t help being suspicious about Wan Xia’s every action.
Chu Yunshen wanted to walk up to the lion cat, but she had already dashed up to the entrance of the small dark room like a bolt of white lightning.
Was she going to continue doing evil and seducing others?
Don’t even think about it!
Cheng Xiaoxiao simply wanted to stop Wan Xia from doing anything funny. Although Cheng Xiaoxiao knew Xiaowu wouldn’t fall for it, and the fragrance probably wouldn’t work, she could not help feeling worried.
“Kitty, what’s wrong? Do you not want me to leave?”
Wan Xia saw the lion cat standing in front of Xiaowu and staring at her with her head raised, so she bent over and stroked the lion cat’s snow-white fur.
When she reached her hand in front of the lion cat, the lion cat meowed deeply in a threatening tone.
Don’t even try!
Cheng Xiaoxiao glared at Wan Xia’s fair hands as though they were an atomic weapon.
Wan Xia couldn’t help feeling tickled when she saw how defensive the lion cat had become.
The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao saw Wan Xia’s dimples, she went into a daze but she quickly snapped out of it and waved her paw at Wan Xia angrily.
“Let’s go.”
Wan Xia slowly pulled her hand back and stood up before she spoke to Xiaowu without looking at him.
Even though Wan Xia sounded particularly calm, Cheng Xiaoxiao thought she could hear Wan Xia as Wan Xia straightened her back.
It must have been a figment of her imagination, right?
Before Cheng Xiaoxiao had the opportunity to give it any further thought, someone stumbled out of the small dark room.
It was Xiao Yue.
For some reason, Xiao Yue found the strength to push Xiaowu aside. Now, She was pulling Wan Xia’s arm and crying as she told her to stand up, “Miss Wan Xia, no! Don’t go!”
Xiao Yue was crying loudly and Xiao Qin happened to be standing at Wan Xia’s bedroom entrance watching Chu Yunshen and the others’ every movement. By now, she had already followed them over and could see Xiao Yue wailing desperately.
“It is all your fault! It’s all your fault!”
Xiao Yue reached her hand out to point at Xiao Qin as she scolded Xiao Qin loudly. She was no longer afraid even though Xiao Qin was now a ghost.
“If not for you, would Miss Wan Xia get into trouble? You are already dead. Why did you come back? Leave already!”
Tears and snot covered Xiao Yue’s face as she pointed at Xiao Qin angrily and wanted to hit Xiao Qin.
“It’s fine. I am going. Xiao Yue, take care.”
Wan Xia reached her hand out to rub Xiao Yue’s hair gently and told Xiao Yue to let her go.
Xiao Yue naturally refused to do as Wan Xia said. Tears cascaded from her face as she attempted to beg Chu Yunshen when he came out of the small dark room last.
Before she could even come close to Chu Yunshen, Xiaowu had stopped her with his scabbard.
“I suggest you do not try anything funny. Even if Miss Wan Xia said you were not involved, I can throw you into jail anytime.
