Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 184
Chapter 184 Xiao Qin appears
Just as Wan Xia had mentioned, it was a mess inside the compound and there were remnants of food everywhere. Also, the lion cat’s garments and Wan Xia’s clothes were strewn on the table as well.
Chu Yunshen promptly frowned as he was finding a clean spot to walk. The lion cat was already standing in the living room and hurrying him along.
“Meow!”
Did he have to be so slow? Why couldn’t he hurry up?
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked at Chu Yunshen impatiently and felt very annoyed by his OCD for cleanliness.
At a time like this, how could Chu Yunshen be bothered by the mess? He clearly didn’t have a problem when he took the jade box when it was covered by her saliva.
Chu Yunshen looked at the lion cat who was growing increasingly annoyed. He lowered his head and looked at the ground where there wasn’t a single clean spot for him to walk. Then he gritted his teeth and walked in.
Wan Xia was briefly stunned before she followed behind him. After Xiao Yue had entered the room, Xiaowu also followed behind them.
Chu Yunshen didn’t look at the ground. It seemed as though he was trying not to let his OCD act up by not looking at it.
The lion cat had already walked over to the corner. She glared at Chu Yunshen with her big bright contrasting eyes urging him to hurry up.
Chu Yunshen didn’t know what she meant by this at all. He simply knew she was a very intelligent lion cat and was probably trying to tell him something.
Give it to her!
The lion cat reached her paw out at Chu Yunshen. When she realized she had reached up an injured paw, she change paws and reached it out again.
Since everything happens so quickly, Chu Yunshen failed to notice she was injured.
Chu Yunshen watched as the lion cat reached her paw out at him with her palm facing up and shook it a few times. He went into a daze for a few seconds before he took out the jade box from his chest.
Well done!
Cheng Xiaoxiao was clearly pleased by Chu Yunshen’s performance. She did not mind that the jade box had previously rolled onto the ground. Instead, she walked up to him and wanted to take it with her mouth.
Chu Yunshen was clearly stunned by her actions. He held the jade box and refused to give it to the lion cat.
What was wrong with him? Hand it over!
Cheng Xiaoxiao was trying to take the jade box, but there was nothing there, so she couldn’t help feeling annoyed.
The lion cat tilted her head sideways and stared at Chu Yunshen. For some reason, Chu Yunshen seemed to react strongly whenever the lion cat lost her patience, so he hurriedly explained, “Let me help you clean it first.”
That was more like it.
The lion cat finally looked at Chu Yunshen proudly.
Chu Yunshen reached his hand out to Xiaowu who was standing behind and looked just as adorable as the lion cat.
Xiaowu instantly didn’t know what to say. He could only quietly retrieve a white silk handkerchief and handed it to Chu Yunshen reverently.
Chu Yunshen took the handkerchief and wiped the jade box as he observed the lion cat’s expression from the corner of his eye.
When the lion cat nudged Chu Yunshen with her paw once more, he finally handed the gleaming jade box to her.
Cheng Xiaoxiao took the opportunity to activate her third eye while Chu Yunshen was cleaning the jade box. Now, she was staring at Xiao Qin as she hovered in the corner.
Xiao Qin still looked crazy as her silhouette remained gray and dim.
Cheng Xiaoxiao knew that once she managed to make Xiao Qin’s spirit whole, the truth would be out.
However, would Cheng Xiaoxiao be able to face the truth calmly? She was not sure either.
Never mind! She just had to do it!
It was simply a matter of time before she learned the truth!
If she kept delaying things and didn’t figure out Wan Xia’s secret, Cheng Xiaoxiao might die from her repeated hesitance before she managed to find out what it was.
Then again, she didn’t know how to use the jade box.
After repeatedly holding things up, Cheng Xiaoxiao finally realized she didn’t know how to use the jade box.
She did her utmost to remember the contents of the book and realized there were no instructions about how to use the jade box in the ancient prose.
In that case, how could she gather Yang energy and convert it to Yin energy so that she could make Xiao Qin’s spirit whole?
Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t help feeling demoralized.
She quickly told herself to calm down and think carefully!
Cheng Xiaoxiao recalled seeing some ancient prose in the book. After reading the ancient prose, she started to understand what the jade box could do.
However, those were not the instructions she needed either.
Cheng Xiaoxiao thought about the ancient prose in the book. The first part was “The auspicious bird takes to the heavens. Combine the jade disc with the jade box”. The second half was something along the lines of “It is capable of controlling nature and reversing day and night”. The last line went something like “Fill it with spirits to reverse time.”
The lion cat looked at Xiao Qin with the jade box in her mouth and went into a daze. In reality, she was swiftly thinking about the ancient prose.
However, she failed to notice a faint green light radiating from the jade box the moment she chanted the prose in her head.
“Master?”
Everyone witnessed a faint green light radiating from the jade box. Xiaowu wanted to point it out to Chu Yunshen, but Chu Yunshen raised his hand and stopped him from talking.
Chu Yunshen didn’t want to interrupt the lion cat. Sadly, the lion cat had already heard Xiaowu and twitched her ears slightly.
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned back to look at Xiaowu at a loss. This time, she finally detected the change in the jade box.
Cheng Xiaoxiao saw the jade box gleaming brightly, so she put it back on the ground. Chu Yunshen didn’t attempt to stop her this time. Instead, he held his breath and looked at the jade box as he observed its changes.
Green light was radiating from inside the jade box. Although the light was bright, it was particularly gentle as the jade box bathed in a soft glow.
The creepers engraved on the jade box seemed to come alive as it grew and flowers bloomed on it.
Cheng Xiaoxiao had her eyes glued on the jade box as she looked at it in disbelief. She exclaimed in shock as she thought about what she had done to activate it.
She didn’t recall doing anything special.
No matter how Cheng Xiaoxiao pondered, she was unable to remember what she had done to activate it. She simply read the ancient prose in her mind earlier.
Hang on!
It must be the description of the jade box in the book!
Cheng Xiaoxiao was promptly enlightened. The contents of the book weren’t simply an introduction to the jade box. It also contained the chant to activate it.
Then again, which line was it?
Cheng Xiaoxiao was instantly at a loss. She turned to look at Chu Yunshen out of habit, so Chu Yunshen veered his eyes and looked at the lion cat solemnly.
……
He was of no use at all!
The moment Chu Yunshen turned to look at her, Cheng Xiaoxiao almost wanted to give herself a slap.
What was she doing? If she didn’t know the correct line to activate the jade box, she simply had to try every line. What was the point of looking at Chu Yunshen?
The lion cat swiftly veered her eyes the moment she made eye contact with Chu Yunshen so that all he could see was the back of her head.
Chu Yunshen quickly concealed the disappointment in his eyes and went back to looking nonchalant.
Sadly, Wan Xia saw everything as she stood behind them. She smiled ambiguously before focusing on the jade box on the ground once more.
Cheng Xiaoxiao concentrated on thinking about the ancient prose in the book. Each time she chanted a line, she looked at the jade box before looking at Xiao Qin who was still hovering in the corner.
“The auspicious bird takes to the heavens. Combine the jade disc with the jade box?”
It wasn’t that line.
The jade box continued glowing as it lay on the ground. However, the engraving of buds on the box remained half-closed and lifeless. Also, Xiao Qin remained exactly the same and still looked dim.
“The jade disc summons good fortune when it is placed inside the jade box.”
Again, there was no change in the jade box. From the looks of it, this line did not work either.
“It is capable of controlling nature and reversing day and night?”
Why didn’t this line work either?
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked at Xiao Qin and the jade box disappointedly. Unfortunately, there was no change in them whatsoever.
Those were all the lines she knew in the ancient prose.
Perhaps it was impossible to activate the jade box to begin with and it was all a fluke. Perhaps Cheng Xiaoxiao was mistaken.
She lowered her head dejectedly. Just when she thought there was hope, she ended up disappointed. Complicated emotions surged through her heart.
Chu Yunshen watched as the lion cat looked at the dark empty corner before lowering her head to look at the jade box on the ground. Cheng Xiaoxiao proceeded to lower her head entirely and stopped looking around. She seemed particularly demoralized.
Although he had no idea what she was trying to do, he couldn’t resist wanting to comfort the lion cat.
Just as he was about to pat her head, the jade box unexpectedly beamed so brightly that it was piercing to his eyes.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was standing the closest to the jade box, so she almost instantly sensed the change in it. She narrowed her eyes hard as she looked at it while light radiated from it. However, the light was so strong that she had to close her eyes.
Everyone else did the same thing. Xiao Yue closed her eyes and held her hands up to cover Wan Xia’s eyes.
As the light weakened, Cheng Xiaoxiao grew accustomed to its light.
The engraving of buds and creepers on the jade box had bloomed entirely. The flowers looked particularly beautiful and unique. Cheng Xiaoxiao had her eyes briefly glued on them before she anxiously turned to look at Xiao Qin hovering in the corner.
Xiao Qin was no longer shrinking into the corner. There seemed to be something different about her as she scrutinized herself.
“Ah!” screamed Xiao Yue. She pointed at Xiao Qin for a long time but was incapable of uttering a word.
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned to look at Xiao Yue when she screamed. The moment she saw Xiao Yue pointing in Xiao Qin’s direction, a bold notion emerged in her mind and she felt Xiao Yue was able to see Xiao Qin.
Wasn’t Xiao Qin already a ghost? Xiao Yue was just a mere mortal. How could she see ghosts the same way Cheng Xiaoxiao did?
Cheng Xiaoxiao felt puzzled. She studied everyone’s expressions including Chu Yunshen and Xiaowu.
Naturally, she started by studying Wan Xia’s reaction.
Wan Xia said nothing, but her face was pale as she bit her lip and clearly seemed shocked. Wan Xia was scared and also seemed to resent Xiao Qin
She turned to look at Chu Yunshen next. Shock swept across his eyes when he suddenly saw Xiao Qin’s spirit.
As for Xiaowu, he unsheathed his sword and promptly shouted at Xiao Qin, “Who goes there?”
All of them could surprisingly see a ghost.
From the looks of it, the jade box was capable of helping spirits to recover. Also, it allowed mere mortals to see the spirits.
She wasn’t sure if they could also hear Xiao Qin speak. Whatever it was, she had to give it a shot.
Cheng Xiaoxiao acted quickly since no one else could hear her conversations with ghosts.
“Xiao Qin, listen to me. Stop looking around. Look at me and listen to me first.”
The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao spoke, Xiao Qin heard her voice.
