Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 179
Chapter 179 Catching an adulterer
In a split second, Chu Yunshen recalled a pair of cunning contrasting eyes and hurriedly lowered his head to look at the woman in his arms.
The contrasting cat eyes emerged in his mind and overlapped with the pair of bright beautiful eyes he had been thinking of. The only problem was, this woman in front of him didn’t resemble the woman he was thinking about.
In that case, who was she?
Chu Yunshen felt as though his mind was about to explode as he kept his eyes on the woman wrapped in the blanket. It felt as though he was about to stare a hole right through the woman.
The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao saw Chu Yunshen looking at Wan Xia lovingly, she could not bear staying here.
Just when she was about to leave, Chu Yunshen finally reacted.
Chu Yunshen lifted his foot and kicked Wan Xia off the bed altogether before covering himself with a blanket with only his head showing.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was stunned by the sight. She didn’t know what Chu Yunshen was thinking. Judging from the situation, there was more to this story.
Sure enough, Chu Yunshen’s face was completely glacial now. It felt as though fire was about to spew from his long narrow eyes and set Wan Xia ablaze.
“What are you doing here?”
The moment Chu Yunshen said this, Cheng Xiaoxiao wanted to laugh.
Now that they were dressed, was he going to cast Wan Xia aside?
No, correction. Technically, he was throwing Wan Xia aside without even giving her the time to get dressed. He was simply an irresponsible scumbag!
Wan Xia’s reaction was different. Instead, she looked at Chu Yunshen quizzically. She seemed to be at a complete loss and didn’t know what she was doing here.
“Tell me! What are you doing here?”
Chu Yunshen surprisingly repeated himself.
He was not the type to stress on his words and Cheng Xiaoxiao used to secretly scold him for being such a poser.
However, Cheng Xiaoxiao found his reaction hilarious.
It seemed as though Chu Yunshen was the girl and Wan Xia had forced herself on him.
For the first time, Wan Xia didn’t answer Chu Yunshen. She ignored Prince Jing and trembled as she gathered her clothing from the pile of garments on the ground and put them on one by one.
Chu Yunshen finally woke up and realized now was not the time to talk. He said to Wan Xia coldly, “Go out and get dressed.”
Wan Xia’s hair covered her face even more when she lowered her head.
She quietly put on her undergarments before taking her clothes to walk out without raising her head or uttering a word.
However, Cheng Xiaoxiao could see Wan Xia slumping her shoulders. From the looks of it, Wan Xia was already crying behind her hair.
Cheng Xiaoxiao tilted her head as she looked at Chu Yunshen.
The scumbag didn’t even glance at Wan Xia. He was so disgusted that he turned his head to look elsewhere angrily.
When he saw the lion cat from the corner of his eyes, he seemed stunned. He contemplated before looking inside the bed.
Wan Xia covered her buxom chest with her clothes. The moment she walked past the lion cat at the door, she was also briefly surprised.
In that instant, Cheng Xiaoxiao noticed Wan Xia stopped trembling. She even raised her head to look at Cheng Xiaoxiao briefly. Sadly, Wan Xia was so fast that it was impossible for Cheng Xiaoxiao to know what Wan Xia was thinking.
After Wan Xia left the room, Chu Yunshen swiftly put on his clothes as the lion cat sat on the ground staring at him angrily. Just as he was about to carry the lion cat, he surprisingly heard Xiaowu before hearing Xiao Yue wail miserably.
The lion cat quickly darted to the outer room. Chu Yunshen did not have the time to comfort her either.
“Master…” Xiaowu’s voice came from outside.
The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao came out of the inner room, she saw Xiaowu striding over through the door covering his mouth and nose with Xiao Yue following behind him as she trembled.
Xiao Yue was probably startled when she saw Wan Xia half-dressed and screamed right away with her face ghastly pale.
If not for the stern look on Xiaowu’s face, Xiao Yue would have probably burst into tears right in front of Wan Xia altogether.
The moment Xiaowu saw Wan Xia in the room, he turned around. He looked at Chu Yunshen desperately as Chu Yunshen walked out of the inner room.
“What are you doing here?” Chu Yunshen frowned as he looked at Xiaowu coldly.
Xiaowu noticed that Chu Yunshen was half-dressed as well. The cold look radiating from his face made the atmosphere freezing cold. It was abundantly clear what was going on inside the room.
He cautiously answered, “Xiao Yue told me the lion cat was missing, so I came to report it to you…”
Cheng Xiaoxiao stopped looking at Chu Yunshen when she heard this. She instantly turned to look at Xiaowu and Xiao Yue with her contrasting eyes and hissed.
Xiao Yue must be insane, right?
Wasn’t there enough trouble today? How could Xiao Yue have told Xiaowu that she went missing after she left?
Cheng Xiaoxiao knew it was rude of her to leave when Xiao Yue tried to keep her, but she was certainly glad she did. Otherwise, Chu Yunshen and Wan Xia would have ended up sleeping together…
If she didn’t come over, it would be too late to regret it.
Then again, Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t believe how stupid Xiao Yue was.
Xiao Yue knew she had made plans to rendezvous with Wan Xia. Even if she did not get along with Xiao Yue, there was no reason for Xiao Yue to say she had gone missing. Xiao Yue ought to have known she had gone back to her room.
Moreover, telling Xiaowu about this was as good as reporting it to Chu Yunshen. This meant Chu Yunshen would come to know that Wan Xia had secretly cooked for her.
It didn’t make sense for Xiao Yue to do this at all.
Cheng Xiaoxiao felt bewildered.
Chu Yunshen frowned even harder. His glacial face instantly looked so annoyed he was about to blow anytime.
“Did you call people over so that everyone would know about this?”
The moment Chu Yunshen said this, everyone including Cheng Xiaoxiao instantly turned to look at him in shock.
It was clear what Chu Yunshen was trying to say. Tears trickled from Wan Xia’s eyes when she heard what he said.
Wan Xia wept as she looked at Chu Yunshen and shook her head while she bit her lower lip and refused to say a word. She looked absolutely pitiful.
Chu Yunshen was unmoved and didn’t bother being nice to the girl. Instead, he became increasingly annoyed and said more loudly, “Didn’t you hear my question?”
Cheng Xiaoxiao trembled when she heard Chu Yunshen suddenly shouting. She turned to look at Chu Yunshen angrily but saw him clenching his fist so tightly that his fingers had turned white.
Was he suppressing his temper?
He must be even angrier than he looked then…
Was he not partially responsible for the situation? No, correction. He should be mainly responsible.
Why was he acting as though Wan Xia had plotted against him? Why was he behaving as though Wan Xia had thrown herself at him?
Wan Xia shook her head as tears burst from her eyes and cascaded down her face. Xiao Yue stood beside Wan Xia and felt heartbroken as she handed Wan Xia her handkerchief.
Chu Yunshen didn’t care about Wan Xia’s act. From the moment he had kicked Wan Xia off the bed, he didn’t even give her a glance. Now, he was looking at Xiao Yue coldly.
“Since you refuse to fess up, then you do it.”
Xiao Yue was still at a loss. Shouldn’t Wan Xia be happily chatting with Chu Yunshen now? Why was Chu Yunshen angry?
Cheng Xiaoxiao knew Xiao Yue was a candid girl and everything was written on Xiao Yue’s face all the time. Also, she hadn’t harbored any ill intentions all this time.
Cheng Xiaoxiao believed Xiao Yue, who looked puzzled, as well as Wan Xia.
Cheng Xiaoxiao had obtained shocking information from Xiao Qin and was feeling wary towards Wan Xia. However, the moment Cheng Xiaoxiao saw Wan Xia’s small fragile face with tears in her eyes, she instantly felt bad for her.
If Wan Xia explained things to Cheng Xiaoxiao, she was willing to believe whatever Wan Xia said. Since Chu Yunshen and Wan Xia were both reacting so strangely towards the situation, Cheng Xiaoxiao felt it made sense to investigate the matter before coming to a decision.
As for her decision…
Was there anything Cheng Xiaoxiao could do about this?
She was living off Chu Yunshen now. Where could she go after leaving Chu Yunshen?
Leave Chu Yunshen?
Cheng Xiaoxiao could sense tears welling up in her eyes just thinking about this. She hurriedly lowered her head so that no one could detect the change in her mood.
Fortunately, everyone else in the room was focused on Xiao Yue. Cheng Xiaoxiao quickly managed to contain her tears and prevent herself from crying.
She sniffled before she hid behind the baby bird’s cage so that no one would notice her.
Xiao Yue seemed to be out to get Cheng Xiaoxiao today. The moment Cheng Xiaoxiao hid behind the cage, Xiao Yue knelt and explained on behalf of Wan Xia as she pointed at the lion cat, “Your Highness, this has nothing to do with Miss Wan Xia. I was worried about the lion cat, so I asked Xiaowu to help search for her.”
Xiaowu also detected something amiss. Without waiting for any instruction from Chu Yunshen, he disregarded the disheveled Wan Xia and turned to look at Xiao Yue sternly and said, “Miss Wan Xia has always been in charge of taking care of the lion cat. Why would she need your help?”
“Well… since Miss Wan Xia isn’t around, I decided to help out…”
Xiao Yue’s mind went blank. Wan Xia had only told her to come over and inform Xiaowu about it. Wan Xia didn’t go into detail about the reason or tell her what to say to Xiaowu.
Since the lion cat happened to run off, Xiao Yue used this as an excuse. She was incapable of detecting what was genuinely going on and simply knelt on the ground so anxiously that sweat was breaking out on her forehead.
“Why wasn’t she around? Shouldn’t the lion cat be with Miss Wan Xia? What did she say to you?”
In comparison, Xiaowu quickly analyzed the situation and felt suspicious the moment he heard what Xiao Yue said. He proceeded to point out the loopholes in her argument.
“Miss Wan Xia was… she was busy! Miss Wan Xia went to help His Highness clean up the room!”
This was true, so Xiao Yue started to sound slightly more confident than before.
Cheng Xiaoxiao sighed in her heart. Xiaowu had successfully led Xiao Yue on. Considering his interrogation skills, it was just a matter of time before Xiaowu squeezed the truth out of Xiao Yue and figured out how Xiao Yue knew about this. Also, he would ask why Wan Xia wasn’t taking care of Cheng Xiaoxiao as usual.
