Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 176
Chapter 176 A ghost was here
Cheng Xiaoxiao didn’t go for the chicken since she had plenty of other food to eat. Also, she had promised Wan Xia she would be quick, so she couldn’t make Wan Xia wait.
Thanks to Xiao Yue’s minor interruption, Cheng Xiaoxiao finally noticed something amiss with her jade pendant.
Since Cheng Xiaoxiao’s movement was large, the jade pendant hidden under her fur inadvertently showed up.
The jade pendant vibrated slightly as it hung from Cheng Xiaoxiao’s neck. Since the vibration was minor and Cheng Xiaoxiao was focused on food, she only noticed it now.
Was there a ghost?
Also, was it right here?
Cheng Xiaoxiao was eating the osmanthus cake, but she promptly slowed down. She kept her eye on Xiao Yue as she chanted to activate her third eye.
“Hear my order, jade pendant, and open my eyes!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao lowered her head and pretended to pick food as she narrowed her eyes and looked in the direction the jade pendant was guiding her.
The jade pendant was guiding her towards a corner in the hall. Since there was no light, there was no vase in the spot. Also, it was giving off a dark aura and felt cold.
Cheng Xiaoxiao had always known that Wan Xia’s room was colder than normal, but she always thought it was simply located in a cold area in the residence.
If she did not activate her third eye today, she would never have learned that there was a ghost in the room.
Cheng Xiaoxiao narrowed her eyes as she stared at the blurry silhouette in the corner. She swallowed the food in her mouth unhurriedly as she thought about how she could investigate the unidentified ghost without Xiao Yue knowing.
The ghost kept huddling up in the corner muttering nonstop. Cheng Xiaoxiao was unable to make out what the ghost was saying since she was in cat form.
Xiao Yue noticed Cheng Xiaoxiao slowing down, but she did not try to find out the reason. She simply assumed Cheng Xiaoxiao was having a food coma and needed a break. Xiao Yue specially placed the fish soup in front of the lion cat so that Cheng Xiaoxiao could reach it.
Sadly, Cheng Xiaoxiao didn’t do as Xiao Yue wanted. She seemed exceptionally hostile towards Xiao Yue and took a piece of fish cake before rushing to the corner.
Xiao Yue thought Cheng Xiaoxiao was trying to leave again, so she bolted over to the door to stop her.
She didn’t expect Cheng Xiaoxiao to quietly hide in the corner of the hall.
Did the lion cat want to hide from her and eat? She didn’t give a hoot about what the lion cat did as long as it stayed in the room.
Xiao Yue thought it was safer to stand guard at the door. She stopped bothering with Cheng Xiaoxiao altogether and simply leaned against the door hard.
The moment the ghost saw Cheng Xiaoxiao approaching dressed in a red coat, she instantly screamed and muttered, “No… Don’t… Don’t hit me, Miss Wan Xia…”
It was Xiao Qin’s voice.
Cheng Xiaoxiao could tell it was Xiao Qin’s voice coming from the corner. She had been searching high and low for Xiao Qin.
Most of the ghosts Cheng Xiaoxiao had encountered in the past were arrogant. They liked to do things they never dared to do when they were alive.
Then again, despite their unrestrained nature, they were purer than insidious humans.
In hindsight, Xiao Qin looked dim and gray and her features were unclear. All Cheng Xiaoxiao could see on Xiao Qin’s face was a blur.
Xiao Qin had curled up in the corner hugging her knees and looked depressed and sick. She didn’t possess an ounce of ghost-like energies.
Hadn’t Xiao Qin gone for reincarnation? What was she doing here in this state?
Cheng Xiaoxiao frowned. It was almost impossible to recognize Xiao Qin. Cheng Xiaoxiao looked at the ghost’s dark silhouette and couldn’t help feeling sad.
Xiao Qin kept rambling like a madwoman, “Don’t hit me, Miss Wan Xia. I am sorry…”
What did Xiao Qin mean by this?
Cheng Xiaoxiao swiftly thought about the past. The first time she witnessed Xiao Qin go mad at Wan Xia’s quarters, she also said the same things.
Back then, Xiao Qin was completely incoherent, so Cheng Xiaoxiao thought nothing of it.
However, Cheng Xiaoxiao heard it clearly this time. Xiao Qin was clearly asking Wan Xia not to hit her.
Was Xiao Qin afraid of Wan Xia’s beatings?
How could that be?
Cheng Xiaoxiao quickly wiped the notion out of her mind and felt it was totally ridiculous.
Wan Xia treated Xiao Qin like a sister, just like the way Wan Xia treated Cheng Xiaoxiao. Although Cheng Xiaoxiao didn’t like to admit it, Wan Xia was probably closer to Xiao Qin than she was to her.
Wan Xia was always good to Xiao Qin and couldn’t bring herself to say a harsh word to Xiao Yue, let alone Xiao Qin.
Why would Xiao Qin say this?
Cheng Xiaoxiao wanted to confirm if she had heard wrongly, so she took a step closer to Xiao Qin until Xiao Qin was only one meter from her.
Xiao Qin kept staring at Cheng Xiaoxiao as she continued screaming piercingly like a female soprano, “Miss Wan Xia, you are beautiful! Miss Wan Xia, you smell good!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao was so startled by Xiao Qin’s unexpected screams that she froze where she was and could not wrap her mind around it.
Xiao Qin didn’t dislike her when she was alive. Why would Xiao Qin get agitated when she saw her after she died?
Why was Xiao Qin strangely calling her Wan Xia? Was Xiao Qin really insane? Was this merely the ramblings of a madwoman?
It was impossible!
This time, Cheng Xiaoxiao threw the thought out of her mind decisively.
Despite being mad, there was very little variation with the things Xiao Qin said.
She kept saying the same things. Also, it seemed Xiao Qin was very specific and everything revolved around Wan Xia.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was no fool. No matter how she tried to convince herself otherwise, she had to face the facts here.
But she wanted to give it one last shot…
Cheng Xiaoxiao lowered her head and looked at the light red coat she was wearing. It was currently her favorite outfit.
It was the first outfit Wan Xia had made for Cheng Xiaoxiao and she had embroidered a lion cat on it.
The lion cat was absolutely lifelike and was a miniature version of her.
Cheng Xiaoxiao pulled the strap open with her mouth and wriggled as she pulled off her coat with her claws.
Cheng Xiaoxiao saw Xiao Qin staring at her outfit and screaming earlier. Cheng Xiaoxiao thought Xiao Qin was afraid of her at first, but she realized Xiao Qin kept her eyes on her garments.
Now was the time to test Cheng Xiaoxiao’s theory.
Cheng Xiaoxiao kicked the coat some distance while she slowly approached Xiao Qin without wearing anything.
Cheng Xiaoxiao kept praying in her heart as she walked and wished she had made a mistake.
Sadly, the gods didn’t hear Cheng Xiaoxiao’s prayers. Xiao Qin gradually went quiet as she looked at the white lion cat coming towards her.
However, Xiao Qin’s eyes remained in a daze and she was still crazy.
No way!
How could this happen?
This shouldn’t have happened at all!
Cheng Xiaoxiao wasn’t happy when she turned out right.
Cheng Xiaoxiao went into Wan Xia’s inner room and kept rummanging through her wardrobe.
Xiao Yue was leaning against the door in a daze. Cheng Xiaoxiao was so swift that all Xiao Yue could make out was a snow-white silhouette darting into the room.
By the time she realized what was going on, Cheng Xiaoxiao had already pulled out Wan Xia’s favorite light red outfit.
“What are you doing? What on earth are you trying to do?”
Xiao Yue hurriedly strode over and wanted to take the dress from Cheng Xiaoxiao. However, she was terribly afraid of ruining it if she pulled too hard, so she could only scold Cheng Xiaoxiao, “Are you crazy? Let it go, you animal! That is Miss Wan Xia’s favorite dress!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao naturally knew it was Wan Xia’s favorite outfit. After all, she had picked the dress for exactly this reason.
She couldn’t be bothered with Xiao Yue calling her names and focused on testing Xiao Qin.
Since Xiao Qin was reacting so strongly to the garments Wan Xia had made, then what about Wan Xia’s own clothing?
Cheng Xiaoxiao had a feeling she was inviting trouble, but she forced herself to investigate the truth.
She had an ominous feeling that she wouldn’t like what she saw, but she insisted.
This was what it meant to refuse to give up until she had the answer.
Cheng Xiaoxiao contemplated in self-ridicule as she held onto the dress even more tightly. She refused to give Xiao Yue any chances.
Xiao Yue noticed the lion cat’s determination as well. She wanted to stop the cat but was worried the cat would catch on if she was too obvious, so she waved some chicken in front of the lion cat.
“Here, kitty kitty! Do you want some of this?”
Did she look like she wanted to eat at a time like this?
Cheng Xiaoxiao rolled her eyes at Xiao Yue.
Stay away from her!
Xiao Yue had just called her an animal moments ago, but now Xiao Yue wanted her to eat. She could dream on.
Moreover, did Cheng Xiaoxiao look like a retarded cat? Considering her high IQ, would she trade the garments for merely a piece of chicken?
Xiao Yue lost her cool when the lion cat was unmoved by the chicken. She shoved the chicken towards the lion cat’s mouth and wanted to force the lion cat to open her mouth.
Xiao Yue attempted to take the garments from Cheng Xiaoxiao as she fed Cheng Xiaoxiao.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was appalled by her rudeness. She shook her head as she evaded Xiao Yue, but Xiao Yue ended up stabbing her on the face with the chicken several times.
Cheng Xiaoxiao realized this wasn’t working, so she could only take the garments and take Xiao Yue to the corner where Xiao Qin was.
Xiao Yue followed closely behind the lion cat and ran after her with the chicken. When the lion cat headed for the same corner, she was no longer as worried.
Since it was a dead-end, there was no way the lion cat could escape.
Cheng Xiaoxiao didn’t care what Xiao Yue felt. As she approached Xiao Qin with Wan Xia’s clothes, Xiao Qin started her female soprano performance.
“Miss Wan Xia, you look beautiful. You smell great…”
All that remained was Xiao Qin’s screaming the closer Cheng Xiaoxiao got. Her figure got a lot dimmer as she mumbled every now and then, “Miss Wan Xia, don’t hit me. I am sorry.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao threw the garments on the ground casually. Xiao Yue swiftly scooped it from the ground and checked it several times worriedly.
Xiao Qin simply looked at Cheng Xiaoxiao without uttering a word as she approached her. This time, her faint silhouette became a little clearer.
She was right…
Cheng Xiaoxiao finally remembered everything.
