Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 143
Chapter 143 Uncle Gen’s reappearance
A row of brawny men with ashen faces gradually walked out of the main hall with their eyes looking lifeless.
It seemed as though their eyes were nothing but creepy installations as they stayed completely motionless in their sockets.
They were unable to blink and simply looked dead straight.
Cheng Xiaoxiao quickly noticed that their chests were not rising and falling.
None of them were breathing at all!
Also, Uncle Gen’s voice was coming from behind these abominations of nature.
How could this be?
Xiaowu and the others had already searched the place thoroughly and it was clearly unoccupied!
Was there a hidden room somewhere?
Had Uncle Gen been secretly observing them all this time?
Cheng Xiaoxiao felt uncomfortable just thinking about someone secretly observing them.
After the creatures walked up to Xiaowu and the others, they stood on both sides and left a wide path in between.
There was a faint scent in the atmosphere. It smelled slightly bitter and pungent and resembled the smell of dried stems and leaves.
It seemed to be the scent of pine or cypress tree.
Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t recognize the smell, but Xiaowu and Ming Zi knew it well. It was the scent of the tobacco in Uncle Gen’s pipe.
They often smelled it at Uncle Gen’s place and Uncle Gen even blew the smoke on them previously.
Sure enough, a hunchbacked old man walked out slowly from the main hall.
The man’s leg seemed slightly lame. Since it was only slightly lame, it was almost undetectable unless people looked at it closely.
There was a strange scent in his garments that smelled as bad as Xiaowu the other night.
The people who gave way to Uncle Gen were giving off a rotten smell. Cheng Xiaoxiao realized it was the smell of decomposing corpses.
In an instant, the scent in the air felt unbearable.
The scent was so pungent that Cheng Xiaoxiao almost wanted to cry.
Cheng Xiaoxiao did her utmost to turn her head as she breathed cautiously.
Sadly, the fog in the room had a mind of its own and kept sending the odor in Cheng Xiaoxiao’s direction.
Uncle Gen sucked on his tobacco pipe loudly every now and then as he walked.
“Tsk.” Uncle Gen walked up in front of them nonchalantly with his eyes glued on Zhong Ming. Even though Zhong Ming tried to hide and avoid his gaze, there was no escape.
“How dare you bring people into my Seven Star Yin Formation? I can’t believe you had the guts to do it,” said Uncle Gen as he sucked on his pipe.
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked at Uncle Gen’s dark tobacco pipe and wondered what it was made of as it glowed coldly and sent chills down her spine.
“I would never have come if I knew it was your territory, Uncle Gen.” The moment Zhong Ming heard what Uncle Gen said, he was on the brink of tears. “If I had known it was your formation, I would never have barged into it.”
Zhong Ming looked so sorry that he almost wanted to kneel to Uncle Gen.
Uncle Gen said nothing as he continued smoking. It seemed as though the only thing he cared about was finishing his pipe.
“Cut the crap! Li Genfa, you are guilty of stealing from the dead and selling their property. Also, you are involved in multiple missing persons’ cases. However, you attempted to flee. Now I am going to take you to the justice department.” Xiaowu blinked hard as he attempted to regained consciousness.
“Hahaha! Then catch me if you can. I am just worried that you won’t be able to do it.”
It felt as though Xiaowu had just shared a joke. Uncle Gen was so tickled that he laughed out loud.
However, Uncle Gen quickly stopped laughing before he looked at Xiaowu coldly as he cursed him angrily, “Bah! Damn you! I have not yet picked a bone with you, but you want to arrest me. If it weren’t for you, my leg wouldn’t have ended up like this!”
The moment he finished his sentence, he lifted his robe angrily.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was startled when Uncle Gen suddenly wanted to flash. She swiftly closed her eyes and buried her head into Chu Yunshen’s chest without daring to look.
Everyone inhaled deeply when they saw his leg.
“Your leg…”
Cheng Xiaoxiao’s curiosity was piqued when she heard the shock in Xiaowu’s voice.
What on earth happened to his leg?
Should she sneak a peek?
Cheng Xiaoxiao slowly turned her head in Uncle Gen’s direction.
She wanted to take a quick glance before turning back, but the moment she saw his leg, she was incapable of composing herself.
Uncle Gen’s left leg didn’t seem normal at all.
Since Uncle Gen’s left pant leg was torn to shreds, Cheng Xiaoxiao could clearly see his leg inside.
How should she describe his leg?
There wasn’t an inch of healthy skin on his leg. Scabs were already forming in some places, but most of it was covered in pus.
Thick yellow pus trickled down Uncle Gen’s leg. His leg was bloody and covered with pus. The most terrifying part of his leg was a deep injury that cut to the bone.
The cut started at Uncle Gen’s inner thigh and went all the way down to his inner calf. Cheng Xiaoxiao could clearly see the flesh, blood, and light yellow layers of fat.
White-colored insects seemed to be climbing on the ghastly white bone showing through the injury.
Erm…
His leg was clearly badly injured.
How could he walk at all? He surprisingly only looked slightly lame.
Uncle Gen was happy with their reaction. He became even smugger when someone as powerful as Chu Yunshen frowned at the sight of his injury.
“Can’t believe I can walk normally with this leg, right?”
Uncle Gen looked around and studied their reaction before he turned to look at Xiaowu. “If you didn’t chase after me, I wouldn’t have fallen down the cliff. Now that you mention it, you were probably the one responsible for destroying the mountain path, right?”
Xiaowu recalled how he destroyed the path when Li Erfa accidentally tripped Wang Er that night.
In that case, Uncle Gen must have gotten injured there.
Cheng Xiaoxiao didn’t know all the details. She simply felt anyone who fell from the cliff would have died a long time ago.
Uncle Gen surprisingly survived. Also, he could still walk easily on his broken leg.
“Sadly, it was not my time to go and even the gods were on my side!”
Uncle Gen turned to look at Zhong Ming up and down.
“I found a method in your handwritten letter to save my leg using ghost Qi!”
“Are you the one who took my handwritten letter?”
Zhong Ming finally realized why he was unable to find the handwritten letter earlier. Uncle Gen had stolen the letter.
After he was done questioning Uncle Gen, he realized he was rude and quickly shrank his head back worriedly.
Uncle Gen couldn’t be bothered with Zhong Ming. Cheng Xiaoxiao could tell Uncle Gen felt Zhong Ming was completely useless and unimportant
Instead, he was after…
Chu Yunshen!
Cheng Xiaoxiao desperately wanted to tell Xiaowu to take Chu Yunshen out of this strange house. Sadly, Uncle Gen didn’t give them the chance.
“Since all of you are here, why don’t you help me with my Seven Star Yin Formation?”
Uncle Gen seemed to completely disregard Chu Yunshen and his men. What on earth was he capable of? He was just a lame old man who was capable of doing some magic. How could he act so arrogantly?
Before long, Cheng Xiaoxiao learned of the true reason Uncle Gen was capable of speaking so arrogantly.
“There is no escape for any of you! Prepare to die! Hahaha!”
Uncle Gen moved his fingers as he spoke. His actions looked organized and particularly complicated as though he was making deliberate gestures.
Before Cheng Xiaoxiao was able to figure out what Uncle Gen was trying to do, the creatures standing beside Uncle Gen had already made a move.
They moved so swiftly that it seemed as though ten bullets were heading straight for Chu Yunshen and the others.
Chu Yunshen and the others were incapable of even seeing clearly, let alone focus.
However, Chu Yunshen instinctively held the lion cat as he avoided the first attack.
Xiaowu and the others were doing their utmost to avoid getting attacked by these creatures as well. They wanted to hold their swords up, but they were incapable of doing it.
Cheng Xiaoxiao watched as Xiaowu frowned hard. She was unsure whether he was bleeding from biting his tongue or lip.
The blood oozed out of Xiaowu’s mouth down to his chin before trickling onto the earthen ground.
The blood on the ground quickly disappeared as though it was completely absorbed.
Sadly, everyone was so focused on dealing with Uncle Gen and his creatures that they failed to notice this.
Xiaowu’s head cleared up a lot after he bit himself. He was now able to hold his sword up and fight the enemy.
He finally plunged his sword into one of the creatures. Cheng Xiaoxiao closed her eyes as she was expecting blood to flow.
However, Xiaowu’s attack merely caused air to come out from the creature’s body after putting a huge hole in him.
Xiaowu had managed to cut right through the creature’s body. Strangely, only broken flesh and bone were visible, but there wasn’t a drop of blood in him.
The creature didn’t shout and remained expressionless after suffering Xiaowu’s attack. He simply fell onto the ground as though he was spent.
As Xiaowu pulled his sword from the creature’s body, a rotting smell wafted in the air.
The odor of decaying bodies was powerful and swiftly spread throughout the room.
It was simply suffocating…
Cheng Xiaoxiao almost passed out from the smell.
Xiaowu’s sword gleamed as he turned swiftly. He quickly used his sword to push the creature standing beside Chu Yunshen onto the ground.
A few moves later, Xiaowu started to slow down.
“Bros, bite your tongues!”
Since Xiaowu found this effective earlier, he bit his tongue once more after uttering these words.
Tingzhu and Nongying did as Xiaowu said. Almost instantly, blood trickled down their chins and fell onto the ground, and got absorbed.
Blood from the tongue happened to be filled with a lot of essence, so it was particularly effective against the supernatural.
Zhong Ming stopped hiding. He recalled something and shouted at Xiaowu, “Spit the blood from your tongue onto your sword!”
Although Xiaowu didn’t know what Zhong Ming was trying to do, he did not have the time to ask.
Desperate times called for desperate moves!
