Wan Xia tightened her grip on the embroidery frame. The fabric went a little out of shape from the tugging.

“Since you pay no attention to worldly affairs, you might not have noticed this. In my opinion, His Highness seems to treat the lion cat more like his lover.”

Xiao Yue analyzed things mysteriously. She failed to notice Wan Xia stabbing herself on the index finger when she accidentally pressed the needle too hard and blood instantly oozed from it.

Wan Xia held up the embroidery and wiped her bloody index finger onto the almost completed lion cat.

She carefully wiped the blood on her finger clean using the fabric before she casually tossed the embroidery onto the ground and placed the embroidery frame, needle, and thread on the stone table.

Wan Xia went back to her room when the sun started to set. Xiao Yue had already lit the candles in her quarters.

Xiao Yue could be heard talking angrily.

“Xiao Qin, you have only just recovered, so you should stay in bed…”

“Why are you pointing at Miss Wan Xia? Put the vase down! What if you hurt Miss Wan Xia?”

Only a single piece of fabric got blown around by the cold night wind while the needle on the stone table glinted menacingly from the moonlight.

It was a battle of wits and brawn in Chu Yunshen’s bedroom as Cheng Xiaoxiao tried to get Chu Yunshen to bathe her.

The baby bird was watching on when this transpired. The moment it witnessed Cheng Xiaoxiao thrown into the bathtub, it kept trying to get out of the cage.

“Chirp chirp!”

The baby bird kept chirping with all its might in the cage while the lion cat kept hissing from the bathtub.

Chu Yunshen was at a loss at what to do next.

The moment he recalled the way his cat spoke like a human in his dreams, he could not help feeling stifled in his heart and losing his breath.

With all this commotion going on in his room, he ended up feeling even more frustrated.

He was decisive when he fought in battle and when he worked at the justice department, but he could not help feeling a little embarrassed when he lowered his head to look at the lion cat in his arms.

Why had he never noticed how blunt the lion cat was previously?

Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t be bothered about being shy as she boldly looked at him to her heart’s content.

Why was he blocking his chest?

Could he get those pesky hands out of the way?

Cheng Xiaoxiao kept using her paws to pull aside the hand Chu Yunshen inadvertently raised to cover his chest.

She could hear Chu Yunshen sighing almost imperceptibly from overhead and didn’t know why he did that.

“Enough. Since your paws are wet, I will get Mu Bai to send the medicine.”

Chu Yunshen’s large hand landed on Cheng Xiaoxiao’s face and accurately covered her eyes.

Cheng Xiaoxiao sensed everything turned dark. By the time she was able to see once more, Chu Yunshen had already gotten changed.

Even Chu Yunshen himself did not know what came over him recently.

The next day, Xiaowu came in with a lunch box as well, when he came in with the medicine.

Chu Yunshen sat at his table wrapped in deep thought. Cheng Xiaoxiao wondered if there were any problems with the way she slept last night.

“Send her in.”

Cheng Xiaoxiao was starting to find it boring spending all her time with the baby bird.
