Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 108
Chapter 108 Absorbing yang energy
Zhao Yan didn’t give Chen Fu the chance to speak as he pierced his sword through Chen Fu’s chest.
Chen Fu opened his beady eyes wide as he got killed. It seemed as though he was asking the killer why he was slaying him.
Zhao Yan didn’t want to keep fighting now that Chen Fu was dead.
He glanced around to see that Tingzhu and Nongying had passed out from grave injuries and nodded in relief. He took the token from his chest and secretly placed it in Chen Fu’s hand before he studied the situation.
Chu Yunshen had done his utmost to protect the lion cat in his arms as he fell into the well.
He gently stroked the lion cat’s head affectionately.
“Did you have a sweet dream? You ended up drooling.”
How could he tease her at a time like this?
What drool? Stupid man!
THUD!
It was the sound of something landing on the ground heavily.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was so startled that she opened her eyes in shock. She could no longer hear Chu Yunshen’s voice.
“Meow? Meow?”
Hmm? Why had he stopped talking?
Cheng Xiaoxiao moved restlessly in Chu Yunshen’s arms.
She was somewhat puzzled why she could no longer sense his warmth.
She raised her head to see Chu Yunshen’s face as pale as a sheet of paper. Even the lips that he habitually pursed had lost all color.
Now that his eyes were closed, he didn’t seem as stern as usual.
Cheng Xiaoxiao finally realized that Chu Yunshen had passed out from losing too much blood. Also, they were at the bottom of a dried-up old well.
She was unable to have a close look since she was in Chu Yunshen’s arms earlier. Now that she had jumped off him, she managed to have a closer look at him.
Chu Yunshen lay sideways in the well. The blood oozing from the corner of his lips looked particularly jarring.
His left hand was particularly contorted and there was a deep wound on his hand.
There was a bad wound on his chest. The wound trailed down from his collar bone and blood kept flowing from it. It was an absolutely ghastly sight!
What happened to Chu Yunshen?
Stop scaring her!
Boohoo…
Cheng Xiaoxiao kept running around as she meowed, licked his hands hard, and yanked his robe. She wanted to see if Chu Yunshen had really passed out.
Cheng Xiaoxiao kept running around anxiously. Ideas kept popping up from her head before she dismissed them one after another.
If only Xiaowu were here! Should she look for Xiaowu?
But she didn’t know where Xiaowu was.
Just as Cheng Xiaoxiao desperately thought about how to save Chu Yunshen, she could faintly hear someone talking about the fourth prince outside.
The fourth prince? Wasn’t that Chu Yunshen?
What were they up to?
Cheng Xiaoxiao warily pricked her ears and did her utmost to listen to them.
Two of the assassins’ voices could be heard from outside the well.
“Where is Prince Jing?”
“He was struck by a sword on his back before he got kicked. I think he fell into this old well.”
“Boss, shall I go after Prince Jing…” continued the second assassin.
Light shone down as Cheng Xiaoxiao hid in the darkness at the bottom of the well, so she was unable to see them clearly.
Based on the conversation, she reckoned they wanted to kill Chu Yunshen.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was instantly so anxious that she could sense her heart palpitating thunderously.
What now?
They wanted to kill Chu Yunshen, but there was nothing she could do to help.
For the first time in her life, Cheng Xiaoxiao hated herself for being so useless. Tears started welling in her eyes again.
She was worried that those men in black would hear her, so she stood motionlessly.
“It’s fine. He isn’t the target. I will go destroy the books. The rest of you can leave first!”
The man’s words were music to Cheng Xiaoxiao’s ears.
It was great that Chu Yunshen was going to be fine.
Despite the assassins’ brief conversation, it felt like a rollercoaster ride for her inside.
Everything was okay now. Cheng Xiaoxiao heaved a sigh of relief as she leaned against Chu Yunshen at the bottom of the well.
At the bottom of the well, she prayed to all manner of gods in the hope that they would protect Chu Yunshen and help him tide through this.
Hmmm? It sounded quiet outside.
In that case, she had to quickly find a way to get Chu Yunshen out. It was a bad idea for him to stay here, considering his injuries.
Darn!
Where did the ghost come from?
She turned to see a female ghost sitting straddled on Chu Yunshen as she lay prone by his neck and looked like she was enjoying herself.
Since Chu Yunshen was badly injured and unconscious, his dragon energy was probably too weak to block the female ghost.
Cheng Xiaoxiao thought about the horror movies she had watched and quickly realized what the ghost was up to.
She was trying to absorb yang energy.
The female ghost continued to absorb the yang energy fanatically with increasing exhilaration. Chu Yunshen quickly became even paler.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was completely triggered by the female ghost’s action.
A living and breathing cat was still standing before the female ghost. How could the female ghost completely disregard Cheng Xiaoxiao and touch her man?
“Hear my order, jade pendant, and open my eyes!”
“Get off him this instant!”
Cheng Xiaoxiao boiled with rage as she scolded the female ghost when she touched Chu Yunshen’s well-chiseled face.
The female ghost suddenly stopped in fright when she heard her voice.
When she turned to realize that it was just a lion cat, she nonchalantly flicked her long black hair as she scoffed, “I was wondering who on earth it was, but it was just a talking cat.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao was just about to retort when the female ghost said sternly, “You are just a cat demon. How dare you interfere? Prepare to die!”
She lunged towards Cheng Xiaoxiao with her hands shaped like claws. A cold wind quickly swept towards Cheng Xiaoxiao from up ahead.
How dare she sneak up on her?
Did the female ghost think she was afraid of her?
Cheng Xiaoxiao contemplated as she pulled out the jade pendant on her neck and sneered.
The moment the spirit energy came close to Cheng Xiaoxiao, it was absorbed by the jade pendant.
However, Cheng Xiaoxiao continued to stand there unscathed without even budging an inch.
“How is this possible? Don’t tell me I missed?”
The female ghost was a little anxious and thought her eyes were playing tricks on her.
The jade pendant had absorbed her spirit energy, so she retreated weakly.
Cheng Xiaoxiao finally realized there were two more ghosts behind her.
Just when she thought there was no way she could get Chu Yunshen out of here, these ghosts came to offer their spirit energy!
After capturing these wandering spirits, she could take human form and take him out of the well.
Hang in there, Chu Yunshen!
“You nosy parker!” said a tall male ghost coldly to Cheng Xiaoxiao.
Cheng Xiaoxiao watched as the scantily-clad female ghost leaned against the tall male ghost seductively. She appeared so soft that it seemed as though she didn’t have a bone in her body. “She bullied me. You must seek revenge for me, okay?”
Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t help rolling her eyes when she heard what the female ghost said.
Cheng Xiaoxiao had never met any ghost as shameless as her. The female ghost was clearly the one who snuck up on her but she ended up absorbing her spirit energy!
The sexy female ghost didn’t care about Cheng Xiaoxiao’s reaction. She continued looking at Chu Yunshen reluctantly as he lay on the ground.
“Also, that man tastes pretty good. Wouldn’t it be lovely if we could suck all his yang energy after we kill the cat demon?”
Both the tall and fat men nodded in agreement.
Did that mean they wanted to fight her? She tried to play nice!
Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t help feeling annoyed when she recalled the blood flowing from the corner of Chu Yunshen’s mouth.
“If you are not afraid of death, then bring it on!”
The three ghosts were furious when they saw how arrogant Cheng Xiaoxiao was. They glanced at each other before they attacked Cheng Xiaoxiao with all kinds of moves.
Cheng Xiaoxiao stood motionlessly with her back straightened as she sneered at their performance.
These foolish humans!
Sure enough, every single drop of their spirit energy was absorbed by the jade pendant on her neck.
The instant the jade pendant absorbed the spirit energy, it glowed brightly and turned orange.
After the glow died down, a woman dressed in a blue outfit appeared in the well.
Her skirt gave off a soft glow that resembled the moon’s and lit up the well.
Cheng Xiaoxiao already knew that Chu Yunshen was badly injured when she was in cat form. Now that she took a second look, she realized how grave they were.
There was one on his arm and his chest. He seemed to have gotten struck on the back first.
Cheng Xiaoxiao recalled Chu Yunshen was in so much pain that he moaned.
He had fought with the men in black for such a long time with these grave injuries.
However, he had protected her and kept her unscathed.
Boohoo…
She suddenly wanted to marry him. What was going on with her?
The injury on Chu Yunshen’s arm was so ghastly that his flesh could be seen and the wound on his chest was no better.
His front-facing injuries were already so bad, so the wound at the back must be even worse.
He couldn’t lie on his back pressing on the wound!
Cheng Xiaoxiao quickly reached her hands under his arms and flipped Chu Yunshen over gently to hold him in her arms.
If this were any other day, Cheng Xiaoxiao wouldn’t have let up the perfect opportunity to take advantage of that gorgeous man.
However, she lost the mood to tease Chu Yunshen when she saw his robe ripped from his shoulder blade down to his waist.
Even if she wanted to marry him, he had to be alive for her to do it.
“Chu Yunshen, wait for me here.”
Cheng Xiaoxiao reached her hand out and touched Chu Yunshen’s deeply furrowed brows before she clenched her fists and rooted for herself with determination, “Go for it! We have to get out of here and get help! You can do it, Cheng Xiaoxiao!”
Initially, the assassins were around, then she was busy capturing spirits, so Cheng Xiaoxiao didn’t have the chance to look at the dried-up well.
In reality, the well wasn’t that deep.
Cheng Xiaoxiao could clearly see some skeletons in there, so they must belong to these ghosts.
The walls of the well had already turned dark green over time. Cheng Xiaoxiao could see large swathes of moss growing on the green bricks.
The moss was bright and grew so densely that it covered every crack in the wall.
They sure looked dense enough.
She would try going out that way.
She slowly leaned Chu Yunshen against the wall before she climbed up.
It was easier to descend a mountain than it was to ascend it. It was easier to fall into a well than it was to get out.
Cheng Xiaoxiao always thought that she was nimble enough when she climbed up ceiling beams or climbed over the wall with Chu Hongyi.
But why was it so hard now?
She mustered all her strength as she pushed her fingertips into the tiny crevices in between the bricks before she moved her feet up.
Why didn’t it work?!
Cheng Xiaoxiao looked around the well. Everywhere she looked, she saw damp cold moss and a handful of hardy weeds.
She continued to progress slowly, but her nails had already broken.
Drops of blood oozed out of her nails onto the wall and flowed out from the crevices.
Cheng Xiaoxiao suddenly lost balance and fell with some weed in her mouth.
“Ptooey!” Cheng Xiaoxiao did her best to spit the remnants of the weed from her mouth. She quickly rolled up and wanted to try again. However, sharp pain in her ankle made her fall back on the ground.
“AH!” An excruciating scream came from inside the well.
God that hurt! Why did it hurt so much?
Cheng Xiaoxiao turned to look at her ankle. Her right ankle was so badly swollen that the joint was slightly misshapen compared to her left foot.
Darn it. She thought she was in luck when she found the way out!
