Lose My Heart to the Lovely Kitten Princess - Chapter 107
Chapter 107 An attack
Cheng Xiaoxiao curled up in Chu Yunshen’s arms and rested her eyes as she wondered what the county magistrate had prepared.
Since they had to host a prince, they would probably serve Chu Yunshen with the finest food.
Cheng Xiaoxiao snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the sound of fighting.
Oh god! Why were they suddenly in a fight?
In the blink of an eye, dozens of people dressed in black jumped from the air and surrounded them quickly.
Before Chu Yunshen said a word, Chen Fu was so startled that his face turned ashen, and he screamed as he hid behind Chu Yunshen swiftly.
He shrank behind Chu Yunshen and didn’t dare to look.
Even if he could escape, he would probably be unable to move a muscle.
It felt as though his legs were weighed down by lead and incapable of movement.
The last two of Chu Yunshen’s secret guards had already jumped over the moment the men in black appeared and were protecting Chu Yunshen.
The men in black charged towards Chu Yunshen and Tingzhu and Nongying were instantly embroiled in battle with them.
Meanwhile, Chu Yunshen’s sword flickered at the speed of light as he attacked the assassins. A menacing sword glow swiftly flashed before them.
Chu Yunshen flicked his wrist gently and his sword spun in his hands as it whirred in the air. One of the assassin’s hands almost got sucked into it.
One of the men stopped fighting for a moment and used his internal energy to strike Chu Yunshen’s sword to neutralize his attack.
Cheng Xiaoxiao had come from modern times, so she was unable to get used to all this fighting. After she saw Chu Yunshen killing someone when she first transmigrated and became a cat, she had bad dreams for several nights in a row.
Now that people were fighting right in front of her, she was so scared that she closed her eyes.
Cheng Xiaoxiao’s mouth parted slightly as the faint scent of blood filled the air. She instinctively hissed deeply.
It was a lion cat’s instinct to do this. Her white fur also instantly stood erect.
Chu Yunshen and the man in black leaped up in unison. Dust floated in the air as they exchanged blows so swiftly that it was impossible to see their moves with the naked eye.
The man in black suddenly trembled before he knelt onto the ground with blood gushing from the corner of his mouth. Chu Yunshen motionlessly stood as he looked at the enemy coldly.
Cheng Xiaoxiao thought that the fight was over when Chu Yunshen halted, so she quietly opened her eyes.
Before she even opened her eyes fully, a few more men in black surrounded them.
Oh god! Cheng Xiaoxiao howled in her heart. Why did they keep popping up like they were playing whack-a-mole?
Never mind. She would play dead.
She leaned closely into Chu Yunshen’s arms.
Chu Yunshen’s moves became even fiercer when he detected the cat’s movement in his arms.
However, the men in black were making feints and they focused their efforts on Chen Fu behind Chu Yunshen.
Chen Fu didn’t dare to reach his head out.
Chen Fu had bribed his way to get to where he was, so he was neither a good scholar nor a martial artist.
He wasn’t good for anything at all.
“Your Highness, I’m so worried about you!”
Chen Fu grabbed Chu Yunshen’s sleeve and refused to let go. “Your Highness, let me stay with you to protect you.”
“Let go!”
Chu Yunshen flung Chen Fu’s arm away heartlessly and shoved him to the side.
In a second, a sword came plunging towards the spot that Chen Fu was just standing at.
Chen Fu had just escaped death and didn’t even have the time to catch a breath before the man any black raised his sword and came after him.
The sword flicked flawlessly as a threatening sword glow bounced off Chen Fu’s face.
Chen Fu felt as though his blood had stopped flowing and had trouble breathing as his throat constricted. “Your Highness! Help me!”
In a flash, a light flickered before a warm current poured onto his face.
Chen Fu reached his hand out to touch the warm fluid as he looked at his damp chest. He really wanted to just close his eyes and pass out altogether.
“AH! Blood! It’s blood!”
Chen Fu stared at his bloodstained hands and felt so petrified that his plump body kept trembling.
Chu Yunshen had struck the assassin at the neck with his sword and killed him with one blow. The man was now lying sprawling limply on the ground.
The blood on Chen Fu had just gushed from the man’s body.
“MEOW…” Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t help opening her eyes when she heard Chen Fu’s shrieks and ended up screaming herself.
Both she and Chen Fu trembled.
Chu Yunshen detected something amiss with the lion cat in his arms, so he gently stroked her with his left hand as he held her with it.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was incapable of feeling anything now. Her eyes and head were filled with images of the man in black as he died before her and crumpled to the ground. He was in such a horrid state when he died that she could not stop thinking about it.
“They aren’t here for me! Protect Chen Fu!”
Chu Yunshen fought with two men in black. His swordplay was swift and decisive. The men in black started to fight increasingly viciously. Every move they executed was out to kill.
“Master!” shouted Tingzhu and Nongying in shock. Neither of them wanted to leave Chu Yunshen.
“Do it!” Chu Yunshen’s eyes were already bloodshot from killing. He continued fighting as he ordered the two subordinates while they protected him.
Tingzhu and Nongying had no choice but to do their utmost to slaughter the assassins around Chen Fu and keep him safe.
Cheng Xiaoxiao knew that Chu Yunshen what’s a highly skilled martial artist. He was always calm and composed like nothing could make him anxious.
He didn’t even lose his cool when one of the assassins sliced off some of the hair at his temple earlier.
However, Cheng Xiaoxiao could keenly sense that his face was filled with worry now.
What was he anxious about?
The wind kept howling by Cheng Xiaoxiao’s ears. Her fur exploded when she sensed a murderous aura in the air.
It felt as though her mind was filled with glue and she felt giddy.
CLING CLANG.
Weapons could be heard colliding.
Cheng Xiaoxiao finally caught on that Chu Yunshen was injured.
The assassin’s moves became even fiercer and faster when he saw Chu Yunshen injured.
Cheng Xiaoxiao finally regained consciousness while they exchanged blows.
Was Chu Yunshen trying to help her block the blow?
Cheng Xiaoxiao always thought that the aloof Chu Yunshen merely treated her as his belonging and plaything.
Chu Yunshen only treated her well because she was intelligent and everything happened on a whim for him.
This pervert even restricted her movement whenever he felt like it.
How could he end up getting hurt to save her?
Also, it wasn’t the first time he did it.
Why was she increasingly indebted to him?
Cheng Xiaoxiao finally stopped thinking about Chu Yunshen killing the assassin.
Her mind was in chaos.
Perhaps she was shocked that Chu Yunshen would disregard his status as a prince and save a lion cat offered as tribute from an enemy country or worried that she didn’t know how to pay her debt to him.
Maybe it was something else.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was so preoccupied that she failed to detect the men in black attacking her when they noticed her in Chu Yunshen’s arms.
In an instant, several swords came piercing towards Cheng Xiaoxiao. Chu Yunshen waved his sword as he turned and blocked the blows five centimeters before they reached Cheng Xiaoxiao.
Murderous sword energy came surging towards Chu Yunshen from behind. Chu Yunshen’s sword was entangled in battle with a few assassins before him. It was hard even to make them back off an inch let alone change his move.
Chu Yunshen was incapable of dodging in time, so he took on the blow out of fear that the lion cat would get injured.
He moaned as he pushed the swords before Cheng Xiaoxiao away.
Chu Yunshen’s moan sounded so soft and rapid that Cheng Xiaoxiao almost thought she was imagining it.
However, Cheng Xiaoxiao could clearly sense his hands trembling a little as he held her.
She raised her head to look at Chu Yunshen’s gorgeous face and wanted to check for any expression, but Chu Yunshen remained calm and collected.
Since Chu Yunshen didn’t bat an eye, it felt as though she had imagined it.
The assassins didn’t give Chu Yunshen the chance to take a breath before they launched another wave of attack on him.
Cheng Xiaoxiao couldn’t help feeling agitated when she saw them attacking again.
Those pigs! Couldn’t they see that Chu Yunshen was hurt?
Her eyes gleamed increasingly brightly in her anxiety.
Cheng Xiaoxiao watched as these shameless men in black split into a two-pronged attack. They attacked Chu Yunshen from behind as they struck her from the front.
Before long, Chu Yunshen was unable to defend himself along with Chen Fu.
Men in black attacked Cheng Xiaoxiao with a killing move once more. Their moves were unpredictable and absolutely ruthless.
Cheng Xiaoxiao stared with her eyes wide as she suddenly meowed shrilly.
Chu Yunshen’s sword gleamed murderously as he waved it.
Another blow came from behind!
Blood gushed with every move the men in black made as it scattered everywhere.
Chu Yunshen’s arms and chest got hurt. The more he was injured, the slower he became.
Cheng Xiaoxiao struggled to wrest free of Chu Yunshen’s embrace, but he kept her pinned to his chest and refused to let her go.
Cheng Xiaoxiao was so anxious that she forgot she was a cat and wanted to speak but ended up meowing nonstop.
This time, Chu Yunshen covered her mouth altogether. Blood trickled down to his hands and got onto the lion cat’s white fur on her face.
Cheng Xiaoxiao could sense something sticky on her face as her vision suddenly became blurred.
She blinked hard before she realized there was something warm flowing down from the corner of her eye.
The assassins also realized that Chu Yunshen was becoming less and less nimble, so the one closest to Chu Yunshen kicked him on his injured back.
Watch out!
Cheng Xiaoxiao stared as Chu Yunshen flew out in a parabola with her in his arms.
Chu Yunshen held her as they fell into a dried-up well. She was so frightened that she closed her eyes in mid-air.
Were they really going to die together?
The sound of slaughter and swords piercing into flesh along with Chu Yunshen’s labored breathing kept floating away until it disappeared.
The fight continued to go on in the yard. Prince Qing had sent over 30 well-trained assassins.
Tingzhu and Nongying were outnumbered, so the men in black quickly overpowered them.
Chen Fu knelt on the ground hopelessly. He had already recognized the man in black who wanted to kill him.
It was Zhao Yan!
They were sent by the eighth prince!
Oh no. He was dead meat.
Chen Fu was in a daze. He was in disbelief that the eighth prince had forsaken him.
However, there was no time for him to verify the truth as Zhao Yan’s sword appeared before him quickly.
“Where are the books?”
A menacing sword halted before him. Chen Fu pissed in his pants. The air smelled even more repulsive as the smell of the piss blended with the scent of blood.
“In a secret compartment in the study. Zhao…”
