Legend of Dragon Son-in-law - Chapter 295:
Chapter 295: Chapter 294: Come and Get It_1
“Who’s there!”
It was now past one in the middle of the night, and knocking on the door at this time inevitably irritated Fernando Lee.
“Alright, father, go rest. Just remember to take care of business cleanly, without leaving any loose ends behind. I don’t want to have to clean up after you!”
On the other end of the video call, Nikodem Lee yawned and then went to bed after hanging up.
“Coming!”
After hearing about the Leocadia Family’s misfortune, Fernando Lee was in an unexpectedly good mood. He had long had his eye on Sophia Leocadia, but he was hopeless and never managed to gain her admiration.
Now that the Leocadia Family members were actively helping, the marriage was all but confirmed.
He slipped on his slippers and walked to the door, gently opening it.
But strangely, there was no one outside.
Who would knock on the door at past one in the middle of the night?
At that thought, a chill ran down his spine.
Two security guards had originally been stationed outside the door, so why was there no one in sight now?
“Daring to slack off! I’ll break your legs!”
Fernando Lee’s brow furrowed, ready to go back to his room to call the security captain and give the two negligent guards a piece of his mind.
But just as he was about to close the door, he instinctively looked down.
“Ah…”
Fernando Lee’s legs gave way, and he collapsed to the floor.
A mysterious liquid slowly flowed from his crotch, soaking a large area of his pants.
“Help… help…”
He tried to call for help, but his throat was already out of control, and he felt as if all the strength had been drained from his body, only able to stare at the ‘faces’ that were now within arm’s reach.
These were the employees he had sent out to kill Julius Reed, and now they were neatly arranged at his doorstep.
Their eyes were fixed on him.
“I…”
Fernando Lee’s body convulsed, his vision darkened, and he fainted.
The next day, the young men and women from the Capital hurriedly returned home.
They had planned to stay for a few days, but as soon as it was daylight, they all evacuated.
And the Global Hotel inexplicably closed for reorganization without announcing a reopening date.
But none of this had anything to do with Julius Reed, who was currently watching a sports game at the Water Pearl Grand Hotel.
Life was so boring, it always needed a bit of entertainment time.
“Boss Davenport, how do you know Sophia Leocadia? Yesterday, she went to great lengths to protect you, even risking offending Fernando Lee!”
Ives Abbott stood behind Julius Reed, asking with interest.
She had thought about it all night and still couldn’t understand what had happened.
The two of them didn’t have the slightest connection, and from Julius Reed’s expression, she knew that the two parties were complete strangers.
What on earth could have made the Leocadia family heiress go so far as to protect him like that?
“Scram! Don’t you see I’m watching TV? Go somewhere cool, little kid—and don’t ask about adult matters!”
Julius Reed scolded her in the tone of an elder.
But not only was Ives Abbott not angry, she actually enjoyed the feeling.
“Boss Davenport, you’re really a master! You connected with Miss Leocadia without anyone detecting a thing. Hey! You didn’t cast a spell on her, did you? Teach me, I’ll take you as my mentor!”
Ives Abbott’s eyes lit up, showing a look of sudden realization: “No wonder my father respects you so much; you’re a spell caster!”
“Go where it’s cool!”
Julius Reed felt very helpless, had the kid read too many novels or watched too many TV dramas?
Always talking about bewitching people, if it were really that magical, wouldn’t it have been promoted all over the world by now?
“I just feel cool right here! Boss Davenport, haven’t you heard that curiosity killed the cat? Please, I’m begging you, tell me what tricks you’ve used to make Miss Leocadia so head over heels for you!”
Ives Abbott simply walked up to Julius Reed, plunked herself down on the sofa, “We’re both women, I could see it in her eyes that she’s interested in you. Tsk tsk tsk, those looks she gave you yesterday were really something!”
“And let’s not even start on all that cash! Julius Reed, my dad is rich, right, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen anything like it in my entire life! My goodness, money was raining from the sky like it was nothing, you are seriously loaded!”
“That’s your dad’s money.”
Julius Reed said agitatedly.
“Damn! You’re using our family’s money to squander and court women!”
Ives Abbott was first stunned, then flew into a rage, “You’re eating at my place, staying at my place, and now you’re even using my mom’s money to flirt with other women!”
“That’s your dad’s money, what does it have to do with you?”
Julius Reed gave her an indifferent glance.
“I’m my dad’s only daughter! Isn’t his money my money too?”
Ives Abbott said resentfully.
Ten billion ah!
Just thinking about it hurt.
“Are you sure you’re the only child your dad has? Forgive my bluntness, but these days which wealthy person doesn’t have an illegitimate child or something…”
Julius Reed said slowly, instantly sending Ives Abbott into a furious rage.
“What did you say! My dad has a love child out there?”
She burst into tears with a ‘waah’ and ran straight out of the private room, perhaps to confront Miguel Abbott.
“The Young Master is really in high spirits, even tricking a little girl.”
After Ives Abbott left, a woman emerged from within the room.
“Do you know why I haven’t killed you?”
Julius Reed didn’t even spare a glance at the foreign woman, his eyes still fixed on the TV.
“You?”
The woman was first taken aback, then burst into laughter, “Julius Reed, do you really still think you’re the Young Master of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance? Would the alliance have fallen apart like it did three years ago if not for your arrogance? Hand over the Alliance Hierarch’s ring, and I’ll spare your life!”
The woman’s voice suddenly turned cold, and the atmosphere in the private room instantly solidified.
“You were involved in that rebellion three years ago, weren’t you?”
Julius Reed turned his head and looked at the foreign woman who was no more than three meters away from him, and asked coldly, “You broke the rules of our alliance back then, and I spared your life. Did it never cross your mind to wonder why someone like me, who is strict about rewards and punishments, would unexpectedly let you off the hook?”
“Heh! I’m the leader in North River, and if you really wanted to kill me, you’d have to ask the Western Royal Court! Besides, back then, both the Wild Fire Envoy and the Ice Envoy pleaded for me. You didn’t kill me but you stripped me of everything and turned me into a maid!”
The woman’s face was filled with resentment, clearly holding a grudge about the events of three years ago.
“How enjoyable were these three years of exile?”
Speaking of which, the woman’s face once again broke into a smile, “The great Young Master of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance reduced to becoming a door-to-door son-in-law. If word got out, I suppose the entire martial world would be laughing their heads off, right?”
“Oh! Did you come to me just for the ring?”
Julius Reed tapped his fingers lightly on the coffee table and casually crossed his legs, “This ring hasn’t been in my possession for long.”
“Hmph! Those old stubborn fools still dream of you revitalizing the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance! If they had handed over the ring earlier, we could have already led the alliance to a rebirth. While I don’t know who gave you the ring, you’d best hand it over willingly if you know what’s good for you!”
The woman slowly drew the dagger from her waist, “Considering you were once my master, I can make it quick for you. Otherwise, I’ll carve the flesh from your bones piece by piece!”
“The ring is right here, if you’re capable, come and take it!”
Julius Reed raised his thumb, upon which the ring faintly glowed red.
