Indestructible God King - Chapter 66.1
Chapter 66.1 A Different Treatment (1/2)
Divine Dragon Island!
Wang Ke and Zhu Yan were on their way to their imprisonment, escorted by demons. They walked close together, like partners in crime. Zhu Yan had finally calmed down.
“Wang Ke, you bastard. What did you use to poison me that time?” Zhu Yan questioned Wang Ke fiercely.
Back then—in the Empress’ Residence—he had already released the Hongyi Chain with the golden-silk gloves. Right when he was about to take the princess’ bracelet, Wang Ke stuffed something in his mouth, and he passed out from the foul smell.
The crumbling that occurred deep within his soul had left a lasting trauma in his heart. The very thought of it sent shivers down his spine.
Wang Ke consoled him by saying, “Zhu Yan, let bygones be bygones! Our grudges are now settled and cleared! Stop dwelling on the past. It’s no use already!”
“Bullsh*t. My Great Qing Empire… My entire empire is now gone because of you!” Zhu Yan retorted with a black look.
Wang Ke shot back a stare and said, “I’m not the one who destroyed your empire. You lost it when you became a demon! Don’t think you could have kept the throne once you turned! That bracelet was not yours, to begin with. It belongs to my wife, and I refuse to give you my wife’s belongings. How dare you have the face to blame me?” Wang Ke asked, staring back at Zhu Yan.
“What a load of crap. Princess Youyue is not your wife!” Zhu Yan stared back at him.
“She will be in the future! Don’t mind the little details!” Wang Ke rebutted before he continued his attempt at comforting Zhu Yan. He said, “Look, you feel no remorse after losing your empire, yet you’re paying this much attention to my family matters? That can only mean that the empire was not that important to you. What’s the big deal, then? Why are you so angry over it?”
“That empire belongs to my Zhu Clan!” Zhu Yan explained angrily.
“The Zhu Clan? Didn’t you kill all your siblings? You’re such a heartless man, yet you talk to me about your clan? Forget it. No use crying over spilled milk. I’ve seen how you often replaced your empress, and no one around you seemed important enough to keep. Why don’t you see it from another perspective? You could hardly live past a hundred years a short while back, but now you have immortality. This is already a win for you! Isn’t it?” Wang Ke said.Win your a**! Zhu Yan glared at Wang Ke. I’m in a tight corner because of you! How dare you say all these things?
“All in all, we must look forward,” Wang Ke continued, “You have been blinded by power your entire life. You’ve missed too many good things in life as you wallow in misery. Look at me. I have nothing, but I’m a happy man! Now that we’ve become cultivators, we need to put worldly prestige and riches behind us. Women are skeletons in makeup. Empires are merely puffs of mist that will disappear in the blink of an eye! We must live for more valuable things!”
“Ptoeyy! Wang Ke, you are really shameless!” Zhu Yan was utterly annoyed, but he could only throw some insults at Wang Ke.
They had already been escorted into the Divine Dragon Island’s prison complex while their “friendly” chat was in progress.
The prison complex was peculiar. It was situated within a valley; massive rocks were extending from the surrounding mountain walls, serving as roof to the detention building and leaving only its center uncovered. At the center of the prison was a massive pool, three hundred meters wide. Countless snakes swam in it; each had crimson eyes and fearsome fangs that were ready to attack anything that came close. Still, there was some sort of a spell array preventing the snakes from coming out of said pool.
“Throw them into the Ten-thousand Serpents Pool!” a demon ordered with cruelty.
In the next moment, a constricted and emaciated man was thrown in.
“Tssssssssssss!”
The venomous serpents rushed toward the restrained man and bit him.
“Ahhhh! Demons, the Heavenly Wolf Sect will take revenge for my death. Hahaha! You will all die! All of you~~~! Ahhh~~~!” The man shrieked in pain.
Those were his last words as his last sliver of life was drained from him. The snakes pulled him toward the bottom of the pool and ate him up.
“That was a disciple from the Heavenly Wolf Sect?” Wang Ke was shocked.
“Junior, rest in peace!” Sounds of sobbing could be heard from the prisons.
Only then did Wang Ke notice that the prison cells were holding numerous disciples from the righteous sects. Each of them had emaciated constitutions, and their shoulder blades had been penetrated with hooks. They were also under a secret spell which rendered them unable to retaliate. The demons were already treating Wang Ke and Zhu Yan better by only tying them up, as opposed to the rest of unfortunate prisoners.
“Third brother, how did that guy provoke you again just now?” a demon escorting Wang Ke asked the jail warden.
“Provoke me? It’s all because that dumba** refused to eat. He also refused to recover his essence energy with the spirit stones that were given to him. How dare he go on a hunger strike! He wanted to die from hunger? I will happily oblige; both his blood and essence energy were drained. Why not let him serve as a lesson to the other prisoners? Hunger strike? The consequence is death by ten-thousand snakes!” the demon jailer explained.
“Hunger strike? Ptooey! He deserved to die! What would we eat if they willingly starved themselves and can no longer regenerate their essence energy and blood? That black sheep had it coming!” The other demons nodded in agreement.
Only Wang Ke was astonished. They wanted to die from hunger, and you won’t let them. How ruthless!
He wondered if he would end up the same.
“Eighth brother, who are these two?”
“The Parlor Lord personally ordered to have them imprisoned. He will give a final verdict later! And yet, both are from our sect!”
“Sure, let’s lock them up first!”
The demons engaged in casual conversation as Wang Ke and Zhu Yan were locked in the same prison cell. After that, the ones escorting them left the prison compound to handle other matters.
The prison compound was rather messy. Wang Ke and Zhu Yan sat in a corner with disgruntled frowns. There were righteous disciples in the cells near theirs. One who had his shoulder blades pierced was looking at the pair with smoldering hatred.
