Indestructible God King - Chapter 101.2
Chapter 101.2 Sacred Child, My Bro! (2/2)
“Sigh.” The skeleton monster was crestfallen.
“Senior, it’s not that I want to escape. Actually, I’m really no different from the rest in your eyes. It’s okay if you want to eat me, but I’m truly reluctant to leave my friend, the Sacred Child, on his own,” Wang Ke said indignantly, “You should know that those who plot schemes in the dark are the most difficult to deal with! The Demon Sovereign can only protect the Sacred Child from open attacks, not from hidden traps. So, I beseech you, let me out so I can keep an eye on the Sacred Child and protect him from covert attacks! I admit that I don’t want to be locked here, but I’m more unwilling to see the Sacred Child die because of some assh*le’s plot! That Tong An’an and the Parlor Lord backing him… The Sacred Child won’t have a peaceful life as long as they live; I really want to eat their flesh and drink their blood!”
Wang Ke kept his gaze on the skeleton monster as he spoke. This is as obvious a hint as it can be! Shouldn’t you be sending me up already?
The skeleton monster looked back at him.
“You want to get out to protect my son?” the skeleton monster asked.
The question made Wang Ke become more enthusiastic.
“Senior, I’m not going to bluff. I really fear that you will eat me in the end; there’s nothing to hide about it. I’m not like Bai Jin and his guys. They are putting up a front; I’m afraid of you, and I will not hide it. Still, it is also a fact that I rescued the Sacred Child and he’s my good bro. You heard it in the recording… Uhh no, the bone bangle the Sacred Child gave me. You might not believe me if I promise to protect the Sacred Child after I get out, but I don’t need you to believe me because I don’t spout empty promises. Words can be deceitful; I will always prove myself with actions! And I’ve already done it twice! I risked my life to save the Sacred Child, didn’t I? Even if I lied to you, the Sacred Child is still such a good person. I’m sure he wouldn’t lie to you. Do you think it’s better to believe in the clever words uttered by others than to believe in me, who has already done what is needed to prove myself? Once I get out, who else would I protect if not my good bro?” Wang Ke said, making himself sound like a righteous person.
Bai Jin and the others were lost for words upon hearing his proclamations. You don’t rely on bluffing? Damn you, if you didn’t rely on it, how did you land the Divine Dragon Branch Lord’s position? How could you become the East Wolf Deputy Hall Lord if you didn’t bluff?
Bai Jin and his men didn’t believe Wang Ke’s words, but their opinions were unimportant—the skeleton monster believed what he said!
Wang Ke has my son’s testimony. Do you really think I’d believe those who wanted to kill my son over my son’s good friend?
“Right. I don’t need you to promise anything. Brat, remember, protect my son when you get out!” the skeleton monster said.
“Senior, I really can get out?” Wang Ke said in surprise.
“Get out? No one can, not even Astral Infants, but I’ll give it my all to send you out!” the skeleton monster said sincerely.
“Thank you, senior. I’ll spare you the empty words and promises. My relationship with the Sacred Child will prove it all; just you wait and see how I keep an eye on him!” Wang Ke said confidently, patting his chest.
Bai Jin and the others’ eyes were wide as saucers.
What the… Wang Ke’s going to get out just like that? Damn it. He just bluffed his way out?
“Senior, we can protect the Sacred Child too. We will risk our lives to protect him; you can even cast a spell on us to make sure we do. I can swear an oath, I promise! I promise!” Bai Jin immediately cried out with hope.
“Senior, we swear an oath to protect the Sacred Child with our lives!” the other demons followed Bai Jin’s example.
“Oath? Can anyone really believe in oaths?” Wang Ke tried to put them down.
Bai Jin threw Wang Ke a stare, cursing him in his heart. You’re free now, why can’t we be free too?
“Wang Ke alone is enough. He’s the Divine Dragon Branch Lord; he can recruit disciples! But you bunch? Hmph! I can’t trust you! You’re in league with those who want to harm my son, and yet you dream I will let you off?” the skeleton monster said with a chilling voice.
“Senior, have mercy! We are sorry! It has nothing to do with us!” Bai Jin and the others burst out in tears and pleaded.
“Wang Ke, what do you need me to do?” the skeleton monster asked.
“Thank you, senior. I didn’t want to inconvenience you with any requests; it’s just that the Divine Dragon Branch has just been established and urgently requires a huge amount of resources. Most of all, I’m lacking Dao Jade. Senior, do you have any you could spare? It’s okay if you don’t!” Wang Ke requested shamelessly.
“Dao Jade? The spiritual mountain sealing me generated a piece a decade ago. Let me help you retrieve it!” the skeleton monster said.
One of his hands tore through a wall as he spoke.
“Craaaack!”
The stone walls appeared to have been sealed by a powerful force which ground the skeleton monster’s hand into powder.
Still, the skeleton’s arm managed to make its way into the wall and bring out a stone that shone with a red radiance.
“Craaaaack!”
The crushed bones started regenerating.
“This is the Dao Jade! It’s yours now; consider it payment!” the skeleton monster said.
“Why mention pay?” Wang Ke said, smiling from ear to ear, “Senior, don’t worry. My good bro’s trouble is my trouble. I will recruit disciples and protect the Sacred Child twenty-four seven after I get out!”
He stashed the Dao Jade as quickly as possible.
Then, the skeleton monster took out a tooth from his mouth.
“Please pass this tooth to my son. That way he’ll know everything!” The skeleton monster passed it to Wang Ke.
Wang Ke took out a jade box and carefully placed the tooth inside.
“Rest assured, senior. I promise to personally hand it over to the Sacred Child!” Wang Ke said with a stern tone.
“Hmm. As for other things, I don’t think there’s anything else I can give you. Let me send you up then!” said the skeleton monster as he looked at Wang Ke.
“Okay. Thank you, senior! As for the storage bangles Bai Jin and his men are carrying, I won’t use them to recruit more disciples. Let them use those resources to accompany you; after all, some money is needed to play Mahjong!” Wang Ke said as he looked at the storage bangles in Bai Jin and his fellow demons’ hands.
The ones alluded couldn’t believe their ears. Wang Ke, you shameless prick! If you want these things just say it! Why use such a roundabout way to get our storage bangles?
“I don’t really care if we play Mahjong or not; I don’t need money for gambling. How about I eat them up and give their possessions to you?” the skeleton monster suggested in response…
“It’s okay, it’s okay! We’ll do it ourselves!” Bai Jin cried out in horror.
He and the other demons fought to be the first to take off their storage bangles, enchanted artifacts, flying swords and toss them toward Wang Ke!
“Haiya, how could I take all these?” Wang Ke said with a smile as he stuffed everything into his pockets.
Bai Jin and his clique: “……………………!”
“Senior, I will leave the Mahjong table with you. You can play Mahjong with them if you ever feel bored! Just to kill some time while waiting for me to bring back some news about the Sacred Child once I meet up with him!” Wang Ke said happily.
“Sure!” the skeleton monster replied.
Then, a bone pillar rose from the ground and rapidly lifted Wang Ke to the edge of the pit.
There was a powerful force field in the cavern, and yet the bone pillar barely held up. The pillar soared upwards while cracks appeared all over. Eventually—after lifting Wang Ke for some distance—it crumbled with a loud explosion.
“Booooom!”
The bone pillar collapsing still managed to boost Wang Ke upward near the edge—just a little more and Wang Ke would be freed.
“Tsssshing!”
Wang Ke took out two flying swords and stuck them into the cave wall to stop him from falling back.
“That was so dangerous! I almost fell back down! Just a bit more, and I’ll be out of this place!” Wang Ke muttered as he looked up.
