Liu Li wasn’t shy to the extent of not daring to introduce Wang Yan to the rest of her friends.
The problem was…
The time that she knew Wang Yan for was too short!
It had only been around half a day from the train ride to that time, and their relationship was a little ambiguous. Whatever she said would just be inaccurate.
“He’s called Wang Yan, a junior from the same town. We met on the train today and he took care of me. He had no other place to go today, so I brought him along to the celebration so it would be livelier.”
Lies!
Dishonesty!
No one was satisfied with the answer, and a girl came over to ask, “Bringing him along before asking for our opinion? Did you ask for Weiwei’s approval? Did you tell us beforehand? He didn’t even pass our internal test—”
“He’s just a junior. What test must he go through?” Liu Li was growing anxious and interrupted her sentence before she could complete it.
“You’re wearing couple sunglasses with a junior?!”
A girl with sharp eyes saw the sunglasses that Wang Yan was holding in his hand and the pair that Liu Li had placed on her head. She instantly linked the two together and exposed Liu Li’s dishonesty.
Another girl added, “Not only that, but chasing us away from our rooms so that you could stay with this junior…”
Liu Li was so embarrassed that her ears turned red. It was time to play her ace.
“Wang Yan didn’t book a room before he came here and wanted to rent a room that cost 6,500 dollars a night. I told him that I would find a place for him to stay for a night and he could use the money to treat us instead…”
“Who here wants to have that 6,500-dollar meal? Shut up!”
If she hadn’t added the last “shut up,” the girls would have succumbed to it, but after adding that, the group went wild.
“Do students from Capital Dance not have dignity?”
“Yes, it’s only an expensive meal! Nothing would change if I didn’t eat it anyway?!”
“Little Liu Li, are you asking for a beating?”
Wang Yan saw the situation was getting out of hand, and if they continued dragging the conversation, they wouldn’t get to have dinner.
“Hi ladies, I’m Wang Yan.”
He took a step forward after greeting them and reached his hand out to another man. “Hello there, how do I address you?”
“Hello hello, I am Han Luzhou, Xiao Xue’s boyfriend.”
The two men greeted each other and the ladies’ conversation died down. Wang Yan turned to the girl beside Han Luzhou and smiled.
“Xiao Xue, right? Nice to meet you.”
“Wang Xue.”
The girl giggled and held on to her boyfriend’s arm while looking at Wang Yan.
There were two other girls that he didn’t know. One of them had a high nose and bright eyes, the classic look of a more Western Asian.
Another one was the girl who had been chased out of her room. Wang Yan remembered that Liu Li had mentioned her name during a call.
Wang Yan turned to her immediately and smiled. “Yuan Yuan, right? Asking for the room was just a joke. I bothered Weiwei and you too much today. No matter what, it’ll be my treat tonight.”
Lu Yuanyuan was really satisfied with his attitude and words. “If I said I would lend the room to you, I meant it. You don’t need to be so polite with me! Of course, if you think that the room is too small, feel free to go to a hotel instead!”
Wang Yan smiled shyly without answering.
Now, he had the support of four girls and he was left with the last girl, who was mixed.
The girl gave Wang Yan a polite smile and a thumbs up. “Wow, you’re good! I’m Reyi Nawu, but you can call me Rere or Nawu. Both are fine with me.”
After getting to know them, Wang Yan heaved a sigh of relief. It sure wasn’t easy!
The girls stopped chatting and took their seats.
They were all classmates and not very particular about their seats. In the end, Lin Weiwei sat in the middle, and to her right were Liu Li, Wang Yan, Reyi Nawu, Lu Yuan Yuan, Han Luzhou, and lastly, Wang Xue.
The day’s dishes were steamed seafood, and after ordering, the steamer was placed in the middle of the table. There was nothing inside the steamer so that the ingredients would be freshly steamed and they could taste the original flavor of the food.
Hence, they needed to get their condiments to enhance the flavor of their food.
Wang Yan was about to stand up but was stopped by Liu Li. “Sit down, I’ll do it!”
Wow, such arrogance. What had happened just now?
Wang Yan wanted to laugh. Of course, it was because her actions were so cute.
Han Luzhou didn’t receive that kind of treatment, unfortunately. He was busy helping his girlfriend taking and mixing condiments, as well as tending to the birthday girl, Lin Weiwei.
Sitting and doing nothing, Wang Yan didn’t know how to contribute to the conversation and just observed Liu Li’s friends quietly.
Of course, definitely, for sure, they were all pretty.
Wang Xue was the least attractive out of them all, but she was still a solid 8, and her posture was on point.
Lu Yuanyuan’s face was definitely more than 8 points, but her shoulders were too broad to seem compatible with her height. That made her appear very sturdy.
Reyi Nawu was about a 9.5, showing off her western features well. Her facial features were extremely defined, and her skin was incredibly smooth. In conclusion, she was blessed with good genes.
Lin Weiwei and Liu Li were both 9.3 points.
They were lagging behind Reyi Nawu by two points because of their figures.
The last person was a man, Han Luzhou, who was handsome and looked a little like actor Siu-Ming had when he was young.
The girls and guys at the table were pretty and handsome, respectively. It was a pleasing sight.
It was only Wang Yan who looked way too ordinary.
Damn it!
Liu Li came back with two bowls of condiments quickly. They included chopped green onion, ginger, garlic, chili, seafood soy sauce, and vinegar, which looked appetizing.
“What’s the taste like?” She was trying to get credit for her efforts.
Wang Yan tried a little with his chopstick and his eyes lit up. “Nice!”
Liu Li asked happily, “Do you want anything else?”
“Add more coriander leaves.”
When Wang Yan asked, Liu Li would go and do it. It was shocking to the other girls.
“Wow, Wang junior, you have your ways…”
“Yup, I’ve never seen Liu Li put so much effort into a guy before.”
“Xiao Liu Li had no guys around her, and the key question is… how did you get to this step in such a short amount of time?”
Wang Yan blinked his eyes innocently and acted as if he didn’t understand. “Ah? What?”
“Hey!”
“No fair!”
“Trying to get out of it…”
Lin Weiwei exposed Wang Yan.
“Sisters, you don’t know the situation when I first saw Wang Yan! He was wearing Baleno and his shirt was half wet because of sweat. He also wore shorts that were crumpled because he sat too long on the train. Wearing sneakers and carrying a Louis Vuitton travel bag, he was dragging Liu Li’s suitcase and staring right in front while walking towards us…
“That scene! Can you imagine how shocking it was?”
All of them nodded. “Yes! The image is appearing!”
Lin Weiwei almost couldn’t hold in her laughter, but she did and continued describing.
“At that time, I was thinking, which family’s young master came out after being grounded for too long? Talking about how he dresses, I was speechless. Moreover, he was so tan…
“But if we were to talk about charisma, he wasn’t bad and looked reliable.
“I was so confused! I felt that he was either a con artist or a monster.
“Before I could understand what was going on, Wang Yan brought us to Number 23 and said he was going to buy a watch at—Patek Philippe? Yes, there!
“When driving I didn’t even know if I was stepping on the brake or accelerator—from the moment I saw him, I was just lost!
“Coming out of No. 23 was even more unbelievable. I had to hurry and take the two of them to the mall then rush to go to the bathroom… People drive 60 miles without too much gas, but when it comes to me, I use so much more!”
Slowly, one by one, all of them started bursting out in laughter.
Wang Yan laughed while shaking his head.
‘Sister, do you squat under a bridge and listen to Guo Degang’s comedy shows every day?
‘Based on your talent, you should change your job! Why are you learning dance? Change and you can become popular!”
