If I Disobey the Duke - Chapter 132
Chapter 132 Small Truth (1)
A shimmering afternoon after a turquoise spring rain.
A black horse ran through the green forest. Auburn-colored mud and rain water splashed on the ground.
A huge man riding a black horse galloping at a frightening speed, a woman in his arms.
One who was as white as a sheet while they passed through the forest. The burgundy cloak she wore was the only thing that stood out.
He held her securely with one arm around her waist.
As the black horse broke through the gate and entered the courtyard, Vlad pulled the reins. Hooves dragged into the ground as his horse stopped.
Vlad jumped off the horse. “Lily.”
Lily, who was trembling while holding the reins, turned her head.
Drops of crystal-like water clung to her silver hair, scattering the light drop by drop.
Vlad supported her with his whole body to prevent her from falling.
“I’m f-fine. I can get off by myself.”
Instead of complying, he took a step closer and wrapped one arm around her waist and the other clasped her thigh.
Lily let out a small scream, falling into his arms.
Like holding a paper doll in his arms, he passed the courtyard at high speed. He strode into the main tower’s main gate and crossed the lobby.
“Make sure no one sets foot on the first floor.”
The servants stepped back courteously.
Only the sound of footsteps in the dark hallway echoed.
She thought he was heading to the bedroom. An uneasy question arose as they crossed the hallway on the first floor without even going up the stairs.
“Where are we going?”
“You will know when we get there.”
Shortly thereafter, he stopped in front of a huge door.
Lily stopped. A room she had never been to since coming here.
“Dress room…?”
It was a place where the maids could find clothes on their own, so there was nothing to look for here.
He kicked the red-painted wooden door. As soon as the door opened, he stepped in and closed the door with his heel.
The spacious room was filled with huge wardrobes on the left and right walls. The wall was covered with black curtains.
He gently put her down right in front of the curtains.
His unconventional behavior only filled her with curiosity. Even after her breathing calmed down a little, the tightness in her chest was still there.
She eventually turned to him. “What the hell are you trying to do with me?”
“Look ahead.”
Lily was startled by the calm but resolute tone of voice.
A voice even more subdued than in Cadis Prison. She didn’t know when he would talk like that.
Far from being chilly, there was a lot of heat in her while it arrived.
She could not disobey his orders.
She looked, trembling hands clasped in front of her. A black curtain filled her view wall.
The sound of regular steps towards the door followed. As the distance grew, she was afraid.
If it went like this…
“I want to have a serious conversation. About your beliefs.”
As he finished speaking, there was the sound of something being pulled. The curtain that had obscured her view was dragged to the left, revealing the wall.
“Ah….”
It was a mirror wall.
Long vertical mirrors on the left and right of the rectangular mirror embedded in her front.
The entire room was reflected in the spacious front mirror.
The left and right mirrors, which were like wings, reflected the oblique lines and the side view of the space without exception.
Towering on the sides, the chestnut-colored wardrobe was covered with gold leaf decorations on every corner and handle.
A cream carpet embroidered with blue thread covered the center of the floor.
And there she stood.
After a long day, her neatly curled hair got tangled up and her fine hair was flying here and there. On her forehead, behind the neck…
Her slightly drenched skin had not yet dried, and the wine-colored cloak draped over her shoulders was damp.
She looked ugly. Like a sick person or a street rat. Embarrassed by her face, she quickly shook her head.
“I told you to look ahead. Lily.”
She looked up and saw him reflected in the mirror. He suddenly came closer to her.
Undecorated uniform overcoat and untied shirt.
The muscles in her abdomen jumped.
Drops of water dripped from his dark hair, down his cheeks and down his chin, and onto his collarbone.
In the mirror, he slowly raised his hands, brushing her hair away from her neck.
His hand on her nape trembled as the touch pressed against her skin. He stroked his fingertips a few times as if wiping the moisture away.
As he looked at her in the mirror, his eyes shone like rubies. “You have to look at yourself, not me. Lily.”
Bewitched, she followed his instructions.
