Chapter 134 – S.H.I.E.L.D. and Dragon Group. The Secret to Immortality!
“Who are you people? Entry here is restricted!”
An angry voice sounded from the distance.
Oshima frowned and looked at the path in front of him and shouted in a deep voice, “What’s happening?”
Without giving him too much time to think, Oshima saw a pair of westerners, one white and one black, wearing black suits walk in.
Oshima was surprised to see them, especially when the guard was only stopping them with words and not force. His heart was filled with unease.
Sure enough, the other side stood in front of him and his first sentence was, “We are special investigators from America’s S.H.I.E.L.D. We hope you can provide us with the unidentified organism and the detailed report about it you obtained a while ago.”
Oshima wasn’t able to pay attention to the other party’s unreasonable request due to shock.
“S-S.H.I.E.L.D.? The same S.H.I.E.L.D. whose members are Ironman, Captain America, Hulk, and Black Widow?”
The first thing that popped up in Oshima’s mind was the one from Marvel comics. This couldn’t be helped. Marvel had been too popular in recent years. If there was an organization calling themselves S.H.I.E.L.D., he would have scoffed in the past and thought that the other party must have been kicked in the head by a donkey, but now, if such a group truly claimed to be S.H.I.E.L.D., he would really believe it.
Not only dragons but Cthulhu also appeared. If that was the case then S.H.I.E.L.D. existing would also be normal. Maybe even Godzilla and Ultraman actually exist in the world.
As a Japanese, Oshima had a very active imagination.
The white man in front blushed a little. He covered his mouth and coughed, “We claim to be S.H.I.E.L.D., but not the S.H.I.E.L.D. that you imagine. In fact, we have the same duties as you. In other words, we are a special investigation department of the United States of America. As to why it is called S.H.I.E.L.D., ahem… as you know, our president always does some strange things….”
The other party’s words calmed Oshima down. Thinking about America’s funny president, he also smiled. Who would have thought that the president would directly name the department S.H.I.E.L.D., but the name was also quite apt.
No matter what was said, it’s all good that it wasn’t the real S.H.I.E.L.D. He didn’t want to fight Ironman or the Hulk yet!
After knowing that the other party was just a normal person, Oshima regained his confidence, “Sorry, gentlemen! The strange creature, or as we have decided to call it, a deep one, was found in our country. In order to kill it, we sacrificed several good soldiers and police officers. We can’t hand it to the United States of America just because of your request.”
At this point, the black man stepped forward and said calmly, “According to the agreement signed between the American government and the Japanese government, we have the right to take away this creature that could be a threat to global security.”
Oshima’s expression twisted in irritation. He looked angrily at the group and gritted his teeth, but he could not do anything about it.
It couldn’t be helped. As the defeated country in WWII, Japan was not qualified to develop a powerful army and make a few powerful weapons. Moreover, America could use the excuse of being a threat to the world to force the creature out of Japan’s hands. What could they do about it? Should they just fight back? Of course not, the weapons and military bases in their country were not just for show.
But Oshima was reluctant to hand over the unknown organism, which was most likely the first alien organism found by the people of Earth. Most likely, every country wanted to get their hands on it to study it.
“Okay, okay. We won’t make this difficult for you. Oshima-san, we know our request is a bit excessive. How about this, on the research of the deep one, let the United States of America work with you by also sending a research team. What do you think?”
The white man came out to intervene.
Oshima knew he could not refuse. One of them was being the bad cop while the other the good cop. They never wanted to steal the unknown creature from Japan in the first place. From the start, their goal was to establish a joint research front.
He said helplessly, “Okay. I will ask for instructions from above… but you also call it a deep one?”
“After seeing the photo of the monster, our team had experts study it. We reached a consensus that the creature is Cthulhu’s servant, a deep one. They are creatures hidden at the bottom of the sea.”
The white man paused for a moment, looked at Oshima, and said, “Oshima-san, in Cthulhu mythology, the deep ones are not particularly powerful in their own right. It’s not a race that humans can’t defeat, but they have one special characteristic — they can’t die a natural death. In other words, the deep ones are immortal.”
Hearing the white man’s words, Oshima’s heart jumped and finally knew why these people were so anxious to have the body of the deep one.
Immortality! This was the dream of all human beings, especially those who were rich and powerful. They would go crazy at the thought of becoming immortal.
And this deep one was the key to that breakthrough!
….
China, Department of Mysteries-
“America’s S.H.I.E.L.D. has now met with the relevant authorities.”
The team leader threw a bag of documents in front of Gui Bin and smoked a stick of cigarette.
“S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
Gui Bin picked up the documents and asked in confusion.
“It has the same duties as our department, but their president gave them the name S.H.I.E.L.D.”
The team leader almost laughed out loud.
Gui Bin had a strange expression and said, “If the United States of America has S.H.I.E.L.D., why don’t we also change our name?”
“Change what name?”
“Let’s call it Dragon Group!”
“Do you know how to spit out water or fire? Do you have clairvoyance? Stop spouting rubbish!”
The leader rolled his eyes.
“Your talking about the Calabash brothers, leader.”
Gui Bin spat.
The leader exhaled the smoke from the cigarette and said, “This is all the information we could obtain. The newly formed departments of other countries are also in the same position. Everyone is keeping a tight leash on the information. Our scouts could not obtain more information, but anyone could guess why the United States and Japan are conducting joint research.”
“It must be related to the secret of the immortality of the deep one,” Gui Bin concluded.
Both of them fell silent after.
“Well, I’ll go say hello to the people at the Ministry of State Security. They have been cracking down on evil cults lately, especially ones that worship Cthulhu. They are too dangerous, and Cthulhu is too evil…. Also, I’ll be going to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ask them for the cooperation of other countries in pressuring America and Japan. I think that there are some secrets that everyone should share.”
After saying so, the leader sighed and looked out the window, “Rain is coming.”

Louie was currently standing in the sky above Tokyo while concealed. If he knew that all countries of the world were studying the secret of immortality from the deep one, he would certainly laugh out loud.
It wasn’t a deep one at all, but a toy that he put together with his necromancy.
