I Might Be A Fake Cultivator - Chapter 645
Chapter 645: The Dumbest Antagonists in History
An Lin appeared in the air above Qi Lou City, and an expression of pleasant surprise appeared on his face as he looked down at the flourishing city.
“Nice! It looks like there are about a thousand people now! That’s very impressive!”
He soon discovered the familiar Adam and Eve within the throng of people milling about on the ground below. These two ancestral humans were blessed with brilliant aptitude by the world around them, and they appeared even younger than their children. It was as if they would never age.
He then looked at their nine children as well as the succeeding generations. Due to the invention of cultivation, everyone aged at quite a slow rate… If it wasn’t for Tina’s introduction, An Lin wouldn’t be able to distinguish who were the grandparents and who were the grandchildren…
“There are a total of five generations making up this small tribe of about a thousand in population. From the energy fluctuations emanating from their bodies, I can tell that almost all of them are cultivating. Adam and Eve have already reached the pinnacle of the Dao Body Stage, and the city is flourishing!”
An Lin clicked his tongue in wonder.
Tina shook her head in response. “That’s not the case, Giant An Lin. You may think everything is progressing at an extremely fast rate, but it has actually been over a hundred years. This level of development is quite normal considering how much time has passed.”
She then pointed in a certain direction where two little boys were playing by a pond as they let loose peals of joyful laughter. “Take a guess at who they are.”
An Lin felt a sense of familiarity when he looked at the two little boys, but he couldn’t remember where he had seen them before.
“Who, who are they?” he asked with curiosity.
“Haha, they’re Lü Cheng and Luo Cheng; they’re the two red-robed elderly guardians of Qi Lou City!” Tina explained as two light dimples appeared on her face, giving her an especially vibrant and adorable appearance.
An Lin instantly made a recollection. “It’s them! One is thin and tall, the other is short and stocky… They really do resemble their older selves!”
He then turned to Tina with amazement on his face. “What do you mean when you say they’re Lü Cheng and Luo Cheng?”
Tina offered an explanation, “They were renounced by the Ancient Tai Chu Realm, but they can continue to live on in this world. I released their wandering spirits into this world so that they could live new lives.”
“Is that ok? After all, they’re outsiders,” An Lin asked with a concerned expression.
“It’s fine. This is a mirror image of the original Qi Lou City; I’m only transferring them from one side of the mirror to the other. I bestowed new lives upon all the wandering souls who were caught in the limbo in Qi Lou City.” Determination appeared on Tina’s face, alongside a sense of relief from being able to keep her promise.
An Lin knew that Tina had made up her mind, so he didn’t say anything more on this matter.
This was the first time that a living being from outside this world had been released into this world. From what he could see at the moment, it appeared to be a resounding success, and he was greatly encouraged by this.
“Oh, right, how are the Spirit-Engulfing Beasts going?” An Lin suddenly asked.
A peculiar expression surfaced on Tina’s face yet again upon hearing his question. An Lin had seen the exact same expression on her face when he had asked about the Divine Mirror World earlier. This made him even more curious about how they were going in this world.
“… Let me show you.” Tina sighed as she waved her hand through the air. A few hundred images appeared, all of which were each depicting a different group of Spirit-Engulfing Beasts.
An Lin’s lips twitched as he surveyed the images. “Why… are they in cages?”
That’s right! All the Spirit-Engulfing Beasts had been locked away in cages!
Some of the cages were constructed from all types of magic tools while others were constructed from spell formations. All the cages were filled with trembling black creatures that were yelling at the top of their lungs—”I want to eat brains!”.
The images presented an extremely miserable scene.
An Lin: “…”
What the f*ck?
“Where are the other Spirit-Engulfing Beasts? Have they all been held captive?” An Lin couldn’t help but ask.
Tina massaged her brows in resignation. “All of them have either died or are being held as captives…”
An Lin’s lips twitched as a confused expression appeared on his face. “How could this be? Aside from their slightly inferior intelligence, they’re quite exceptional in all other aspects. How did they end up like this?!”
“The problem is that their intelligence is not just slightly inferior…” Tina heaved a faint sigh and said, “The Spirit-Engulfing Beasts held all the advantages in the beginning. They were extremely sensitive to highly-intelligent lifeforms, so they knew where to hunt for their prey. After discovering their prey, they would rip them apart with their powerful bodies before eating them.
“These terrifying aliens were once the nightmares of all the highly-intelligent lifeforms on the entire continent. Many of the highly-intelligent lifeforms were even too scared to go out at night because of them. It was exactly because of these fearsome enemies that all the tribes set aside their differences to combat their public enemy in a collective effort.
“They then discovered a fatal flaw common to all the Spirit-Engulfing Beasts, and that was that they would become so excited after discovering highly-intelligent lifeforms, and they would pounce on them without any plan or strategy. This trait, coupled with the extreme sensitivity to highly-intelligent lifeforms, proved to be a double-edged sword.
“All the powerful cultivators of the tribes used this flaw against the Spirit-Engulfing Beasts to set up traps. They set up spell formations to ambush the Spirit-Engulfing Beasts and launched counterattacks on them once they had been wounded and ensnared by the spell formations. This was a tactic that worked a hundred percent of the time, and the Spirit-Engulfing Beasts posed no threat to anyone after that.”
An Lin knew what was going on now. This tactic was centered around using the aforementioned lack of self-control from the Spirit-Engulfing Beasts combined with their extreme sensitivity to highly-intelligent lifeforms. Thus two seemingly advantageous traits combined to become a fatal flaw…
Tina turned to An Lin with a frustrated expression and said, “Giant An Lin, the dinosaurs weren’t as intelligent as them, but even they instinctively avoided all the powerful beings from the tribes, and as a result, they managed to keep themselves from succumbing to extinction by hiding away in secluded forests.
“But these Spirit-Engulfing Beasts could only think about brains! All their tactics revolved around brute force! Not even God could save them! Sigh, it’s no wonder that they are reduced to such a miserable state.
“That spatial gate has already been sealed by the top-tier powerful beings from each of the nine tribes. All the remaining Spirit-Engulfing Beasts were captured and used as lab rats for research. The whole battle was over in less than a hundred years,” Tina said before heaving another heavy sigh.
An Lin forced a smile onto his face. “These are probably the dumbest antagonists in history! It looks like you can die from stupidity after all.”
“I feel like it’s people like us that created them in the first place who are the really stupid ones,” Tina replied.
An Lin: “…”
He was planning to distract Tina from this train of thought, but she was not as easily distracted as he thought she would be, and she immediately struck the nail on the head.
That’s right, all the blame had to be placed on the idiotic God of Creation and her stupid accomplice!
