I Might Be A Fake Cultivator - Chapter 129
Chapter 129: I’m Screwed
After sweeping An Lin and the others away, the gate to the research institute swung shut once again and the deathly silence resumed within.
A wistful expression appeared on Bai Ling’s face as she worked to repair the black ball. “To think that the Biological Bloodline Research Center can only provide value to the world in a way such as this, what a pitiful set of ruins…
“I wonder when the next group of trial-takers will arrive.”
However… even if there are to be new entrants, there probably still won’t be another trial-taker as interesting as that one, would there?
A thought seemed to occur to her at that moment and the corners of her lips began to curve upwards. Her cold expression gave way to a radiant and enchanting smile, much like a world of snow and ice melting away.
But in the dim and deathly quiet research institute, there was no one to appreciate her vibrant smile.
An Lin and the others were ejected by the invisible force, flying straight out of the lake before tumbling onto the grass on the lakeside.
Luo Ziping spat out a mouthful of grass before turning to An Lin. “Big Brother An, you’ve completely won me over this time! Not only did you force Bai Ling to slam the door on us, you even got her to eject us out of the ruins, you’re awesome!”
An Lin winced slightly, is that supposed to be a compliment?
“Hmm… the air outside is wonderful, I suddenly feel so relaxed!” Zong Yongyan was laying back on the grass, staring up into the sky while breathing happily.
“And we’ve all reaped some great rewards this time, right?” Miao Tian’s eyes narrowed in a sweet smile.”
Everyone smiled and nodded in agreement, their faces glowing with contentment.
That bloodline inheritance, in the end, was really useful!
Only An Lin had an expression of wistfulness on his face.
The stream of information was forcefully cut off, leaving him extremely upset.
Sigh, just what did the centipede say in the end!?
Suddenly, a loud rumbling erupted from the bottom of the lake as a huge dragon rose out of the water, looking at An Lin and the others in shock.
It transformed into a middle-aged man before walking toward An Lin and the others.
“Daoist An Lin, how did you guys come out here?” The man rubbed his eyes in disbelief as he assessed the group in front of him.
An Lin smiled bitterly. “We were chased out. The owner of the ruins seemed to not like us very much and kicked us out.”
The man’s mouth fell open as he took in everyone’s serious expressions. They didn’t seem to be lying. “How is that even possible? Just what kind of deranged things did you do in there!?”
Ever since he assumed the role of guardian of the White Cloud Lake, he had never encountered any trial-takers who had received the treatment An Lin and his group received.
An Lin could only offer up a wry smile, he was too embarrassed to reveal what he did in the ruins.
The man didn’t force the issue upon seeing that An Lin was reluctant to answer his question, instead changing the subject. “Which of you guys received the inheritance?”
Everyone looked at each other before nodding in unison.
The man blinked with incomprehension. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“That means everyone received the inheritance.” An Lin replied.
“All of you received an inheritance!?” Even the dragon on the man’s head reared up in shock.
“Not only that, Sun Shenglian and Xiao Hong each received two inheritances.” An Lin continued.
If it wasn’t for the fact that this was the man that had led them into the ruins, he wouldn’t be revealing so much.
“My God! Am I dreaming? To think that I, Jiang Anlan, would be able to encounter a whole group that all received the inheritance!” Jiang Anlan laughed and yelled with excitement.
Everyone looked at each other in confusion, wondering why the man in front of them was making such a commotion.
“Could it be that you guys survived the trial with a survival rate of zero?” Jiang Anlan’s eyes became even brighter than Xiao Chou’s.
Everyone nodded.
“And did a string of new information appear in your minds after receiving the inheritance?” Jiang Anlan asked excitedly.
Everyone looked at each other again before nodding.
“Hahahaha, that’s fantastic, hahaha!” Jiang Anlan began to dance with joy.
An Lin winced in confusion. “Has he gone crazy?”
Everyone nodded in agreement.
From what it looked like, even if he wasn’t crazy, he wasn’t far away either.
After dancing with joy for a short while, Jiang Anlan finally realized that he had let his emotions get the better of himself.
He forced himself to calm down but his next words still came out in a rush. “You guys have to come with me to see Master Tian Yu and notify her of the information you’ve received. She will definitely reward you lavishly for the information!”
Master Tian Yu?
A thought suddenly occurred to Zong Yongyan and his pupils contracted with shock. “This Master Tian Yu you’re speaking of, could this be the daughter of the Celestial Thearch, Celestial Maiden Tian Yu?”
“That’s exactly who I’m talking about.” Jiang Anlan smiled, “You wouldn’t refuse a reward from her, would you?”
The Celestial Thearch was the monarch of the Heavenly Court, ruling over the land as a transcendent being in the Kingdom of the Nine States. It was said that he had seven daughters, the youngest of whom had the Dao title of Tian Yu. She was bright and very skilled with her hands, with a kind heart to match. She was the Celestial Thearch’s most beloved daughter.
A reward from Celestial Maiden Tian Yu was an extremely rare opportunity.
Everyone was extremely excited upon hearing this, immediately agreeing without much thought.
Jiang Anlan also breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing everyone’s reactions. “Master Tian Yu resides at the peak of the Cloud Mountain, I can accompany you there.”
The peak of the Cloud Mountain?
An Lin hesitated slightly and the rest of the team members seemed to detect that something was amiss as well.
Everyone looked toward An Lin, didn’t he go bungee jumping off the peak of the Cloud Mountain?
An Lin’s heart tightened with apprehension. At the peak of the Cloud Mountain was a small cherry blossom forest, where a woman named Lin Junjun resided. Aside from her, there didn’t appear to be anyone else…
“Mr. Jiang, does Celestial Maiden Tian Yu reside alone at the top of the Cloud Mountain?” An Lin asked nervously.
Jiang Anlan was a bit confused by An Lin’s question but still replied truthfully after a moment of hesitation. “Yes, Master Tian Yu often cultivates in the Dao of Art atop the Cloud Mountain, commoners don’t have the right to access the peak of the Cloud Mountain.”
Cultivate in the Dao of Art? You mean drawing that hilarious white crane?
It seemed to be her alright.
An Lin winced as he made the connection. He was one of the commoners Jiang Anlan was referring to. Not only that, he trespassed on her territory and even taunted her art…
F*ck… he’d be screwed if he went back there.
Cold sweat began to materialize on his forehead as he recalled Lin Junjun’s brutality.
No, he definitely couldn’t go!
“Ow!”
An Lin clutched his stomach in pain before slowly sitting down.
“Hm? Are you ok, Mr. An?” Jiang Anlan made his way over to him with a look of concern.
“My stomach suddenly doesn’t feel right and my legs are a bit weak, I don’t think I can walk! How about you guys go to Cloud Mountain without me, I need to rest for a bit.” An Lin feigned great pain as he spoke.
Jiang Anlan laid a hand on An Lin’s stomach, immediately following which a rush of warmth spread through An Lin’s body.
He then furrowed his brows in confusion. “That’s strange, Mr. An, I can’t detect any ailments or abnormalities in your body.”
“Perhaps it is from some impure substance in the ruins.” An Lin narrowed his eyes and grimaced in pain.
Jiang Anlan was even more shocked upon hearing this. “Then we have to go now, poison from the ruins could be fatal, Master Tian Yu is proficient in the way of medicine, she can cure you of any hidden ailments!”
An Lin’s pupils contracted drastically. Holy f*ck! Get her to cure me? As in physical abuse treatment?
Boom!
Jiang Anlan transformed into a hundred-foot-long horned dragon before rising into the air.
A gale wind blew past and swept everyone onto his back.
Chains of cloud and mist subsequently materialized out of thin air, locking everyone firmly in place with no chance of escape, including An Lin.
“Be at ease, Mr. An, I will deliver you to Master Tian Yu as soon as possible so she can administer her treatment.”
The hundred-foot-long horned dragon flew quickly toward the top of the Cloud Mountain as he comforted An Lin.
“I’m not at ease at all, you can actually go a little slower…” Tears welled up in An Lin’s eyes as he sat on the dragon’s back.
As he witnessed the approaching Cloud Mountain, he knew he was screwed…
