I Might Be A Fake Cultivator - Chapter 1034
Chapter 1034: A Happy Partnership
An Lin’s eyes widened. “I’ll die?”
If this was some other random fortune teller telling An Lin he was going to die if he didn’t pay up, An Lin would immediately reward them with a Mountain Quaking Fist with no hesitation whatsoever.
However, these words were being spoken by the High Priest of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe, Gu Yu, so he felt compelled to listen.
“That’s right. You’ll die by the hands of the Spirit Fish Clan.” Gu Yu nodded.
An Lin’s brows furrowed. He did have a vendetta against the Spirit Fish Clan, but they shouldn’t be able to kill him unless they deployed a Dao Integration Stage super mighty figure. Would the Spirit Fish Clan dare to do that?
Gu Yu continued in a slow voice, “I can only predict the outcome of what happens if you refuse to cooperate with me. Of course, I can guarantee your survival if you do cooperate with me.
“I know what you want my help for since that is the only thing that would be related to the fate of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe… In reality, there are many living beings within the Heavenly Turtle Tribe that can decipher your map. However, the only one who can ensure your survival and that you encounter a huge opportunity is me!”
Gu Yu’s voice was brimming with absolute confidence as he turned to An Lin with a calm expression.
An Lin stroked his chin. “Why should I believe you?”
“I can swear a vow on the ocean, on the stars, and on all of the lives of my tribal brethren.” Gu Yu looked at An Lin with a firm expression. “Don’t overthink it. I’m only choosing to cooperate with you for the sake of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe.”
An Lin nodded. This was a plausible reason.
“Please continue,” An Lin uttered with a polite expression.
A smile appeared on Gu Yu’s face. “You’ve come to find me because you need help with a certain star coordinate map, right? I know of the place on the map. That map is actually not just a map, but also a key!”
“A key?” An Lin’s interest was piqued.
“That’s right. It is a key that will grant you access to the Fallen God Seabed Tomb! Only with that map as a key do you have the right to enter the Fallen God Seabed Tomb, and only living beings below the Return to Void Stage can enter the tomb.
“I can forcefully take the map from you and send one my tribe’s Soul Formation Stage powerful beings into the tomb. However, after extensive divination, I have discovered that you are the only one who can change the fate of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe. Hence, I have decided to help you,” Gu Yu said.
An Lin’s face convulsed. “You sure are honest.”
A gentle smile appeared on Gu Yu’s face. “Honesty is my biggest flaw.”
The huge turtle continued, “Oh, when the time comes, there will also be a powerful being from the Spirit Fish Clan entering the tomb. They will be your most powerful opponent, so you have to be careful of them.”
An Lin chuckled nonchalantly. “You’re telling me to be careful of a Soul Formation Stage opponent? That’s an insult!”
Gu Yu: “… It is not good to be arrogant.”
“I’m not even exaggerating. Even if a Return to Void Stage mighty figure were to enter the tomb, I could still beat the crap out of them,” An Lin said with an expression that was full of conviction.
Gu Yu: “… You really are arrogant!”
An Lin didn’t waste any more time on this subject. “You’re saying that a Spirit Fish Clan powerful being will also be entering the tomb. So they have a key as well? There are two keys?”
Gu Yu nodded with a profound expression. “That’s right. The Fallen God Seabed Tomb is the tomb of an ancient mighty figure. Would you like to hear about the taboo love story between the High Priests of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe and the Spirit Fish Clan?”
A love story between a turtle and a mermaid? Impressive!
An Lin was a little shocked. “Not interested. Just give me the important details.”
Gu Yu’s eyes widened. It was just about to launch into an epic tale about this legendary love story, but An Lin didn’t want to hear it?
“Hmm… Important details…” Gu Yu thought for a moment before speaking, “Look after yourself when you get into the tomb?”
An Lin: “…”
“Are there any precautions I can take? And can you tell me what lies in the tomb?” An Lin was a little angry.
“Prior to the deaths of the two High Priests, they buried their past glory into the seabed tomb and left the keys to their successors so that they can access the tomb when the time is right.”
Gu Yu looked up into the sky. “I have been stargazing every day to sense the changes within the world and have discovered that now is the ideal time for the tomb to open.”
“You don’t need to do anything special after entering the tomb. Just do your best to reap as many rewards as possible. If there is a treasure, then snatch it. If there is a cultivation method, then take it.”
An Lin was astonished.
What thoughtful requirements!
He would do all that even if the turtle didn’t tell him to!
“Also, if you encounter some indecipherable text or diagrams or pictures, I hope you can take snapshots of them. They may contain some very important information, and I hope you can give them to our Heavenly Turtle Tribe,” Gu Yu continued.
An Lin nodded. “No problem.”
Gu Yu spat out a cuboid black crystal. “Wear this with you at all times. It can save your life during a dire situation. This is the reason why I can guarantee your survival if you cooperate with me.”
“What is this?” An Lin surveyed the black crystal with curiosity in his eyes.
“I can’t tell you. If I do, it won’t work anymore…” Gu Yu wobbled its head as it spoke.
An Lin: “…”
Were all fortune tellers big fans of being as mysterious and cryptic as possible?
Was it an indication of their skills?
An Lin heaved a resigned sigh and set his curiosity aside.
Everything seemed to have been connected.
The Black Fox Tribe and the Spirit Fish Clan, Chen Nan and Lan Xiaoni’s wedding, Chen Nan’s map key, Soul Formation Stage powerful being…
Thinking about it like that, they were most likely planning to let Chen Nan and Lan Xiaoni enter the tomb.
An Lin had now taken Chen Nan’s berth.
Even if the Black Fox Tribe was enraged about this, they couldn’t do anything as their top dog had already been blasted into oblivion by An Lin. The Spirit Fish Clan would be quite infuriated too if An Lin traveled to the tomb with the key, so another battle seemed imminent.
“Mr. An Lin, I will personally accompany you to the tomb. No one will be able to harm you outside of the Fallen God Seabed Tomb!” Gu Yu promised.
An Lin’s concerns were laid to rest.
“Swear a vow!” An Lin spoke in a firm voice.
Gu Yu: “I swear a vow on the ocean, on the stars, and on all of the lives of my tribal brethren…”
After swearing a long-winded vow, Gu Yu extended its head and shattered the space above it. “Let’s go to the Fallen God Seabed Tomb.”
An Lin was a little surprised. “You know the way without having to look at the map?”
He hadn’t even brought out his map yet, and yet the turtle was already proposing to lead the way? Was it that bad*ss?
“Hehe, I am the High Priest, so that place is no secret to me. To me, the only function of the map is the key to the tomb,” Gu Yu replied with a buoyant smile.
Within the depths of the West Sea.
Tumbling waves surged here as lightning clouds gathered in the sky. Fearsome bolts of lightning crashed into the ocean relentlessly as the ocean roared, seemingly enraged by the assault of lightning.
A woman sat above a huge seashell as she silently surveyed the turbulent sea and sky.
She had the upper body of a human and a blue fishtail as her lower body.
Her features were incredibly gorgeous, and her skin was as fair as jade. She had a pair of snowy white, voluptuous mounds on her chest, which were wrapped in blue silk, revealing her slim waist and flawless back to present a glorious sight to behold.
Her exquisite features and figure epitomized the perfect mermaid in the imaginations of humans.
The mermaid looked into the distance with scorching battle intent burning in her blue eyes.
“High Priest, who do you think is going to be my opponent?” the mermaid asked.
“That’s not important, Lan Xiaoni. Just don’t forget your mission,” a blob of shapeless liquid floated beside the mermaid and gave a response.
The High Priest had not appeared in its true form. Perhaps it didn’t think the time was right.
Lan Xiaoni licked her delicate lips as a confident smile appeared on her face.
“That’s right. Whoever it is, I’ll show them what true despair looks like!”
