I Might Be A Fake Cultivator - Chapter 1031
Chapter 1031: The Blue Whale
When midnight arrived, the West Sea fell into complete darkness and silence.
Only the sound of the waves continued to provide a serene background sound to the pitch-black night.
The light of the moon and stars lit up the night and was reflected by the sea, as if the sea and sky were two mirrors facing each other as they met at a horizon line an immeasurable distance from here.
An Lin raised his head to discover that among the countless stars in the sky, the nine brightest stars seemed to be pointing toward a certain direction. However, the stars were constantly moving, and the direction they were pointing in was constantly changing as a result.
“So this really is a moving island.” A smile appeared on An Lin’s face.
He flew into the sky atop his brick and immediately began traveling in the direction the stars were pointing in.
The ocean at night was not actually as serene and peaceful as it seemed. There were perils lurking at every corner, and there would occasionally be powerful sea monsters looking up at An Lin from the water below.
However, none of them had the guts to attack An Lin.
Thus, they continued onward for several thousand kilometers before a sea of light appeared before them.
The sea of light was, as the name implied, a sea that glowed with light. The area of the ocean here shone with all types of different colored lights, appearing especially dreamy and trance-like in the night, as if one had stumbled upon a miraculous ocean.
All of the fishes that inhabited this area of the ocean glowed with light. They swam in schools through the water like huge strips of silk, providing an extremely vibrant and enchanting scene to behold.
There were also many firefly-like creatures that leaped out of the water to breathe the air above with elation. Each inhalation and exhalation they took made it appear as if the light shining from their bodies was pulsing in brightness.
“Waah…”
All of a sudden, an ethereal voice reverberated through the air from the distance.
The sound was both faintly discernible but also quite clear at the same, as if it had originated from the ancient past to be heard by those in the future.
An Lin immediately brought his brick to a halt and focused as he unleashed his divine sense to its maximum extent.
Tina and the Jade Bone Immortal Bug also began to silently prepare spell techniques in preparation for any potential battle that could arise.
A creature capable of making a sound like this was definitely no ordinary creature!
“Waah…”
Another distant cry reverberated directly into their souls.
In the boundless sea of light, a massive empty patch suddenly appeared.
All of the glowing sea creatures immediately parted, as if they were making way for something extremely terrifying.
A dark blue light slowly emerged in the ocean before becoming brighter and brighter, and finally, it lit the entire ocean in a bright blue hue. This was a pure blue that overwhelmed all of the other colors in the sea of light.
A gargantuan head slowly emerged from the water, sending massive waves surging around it in the process.
“So… so big!” Tina’s tiny little mouth gaped open as her eyes widened in shock.
An Lin also drew a sharp intake of breath. “Is that a whale?”
The gargantuan creature began to leap out of the ocean, bringing with it billions of tons of seawater.
In the inky-black night sky.
Above the sea of light, under the bright moon.
A round, smooth body glowed with a blue light as it flew through the sky and colored the entire night blue. That moment seemed to last for an eternity.
Boom!
The whale dove back into the ocean, bringing more massive waves that exploded into the air.
As the entire ocean surged and roared, the blue light slowly disappeared into the bottom of the ocean.
“Is it gone?” The encyclopedic Jade Bone Immortal Bug remained silent after seeing this sea monster as even she had no idea what it was.
“Sister Little Gu, what was that thing? It was so big and so beautiful!” Tina was still struggling to recover from her shock, and she turned to the Jade Bone Immortal Bug with excitement on her face.
The Jade Bone Immortal Bug shook her head. “I don’t know. As far as I know, there haven’t been any records detailing such a gargantuan glowing creature.”
“Let’s just call it the blue whale!” An Lin suggested excitedly.
“Huh? That seems like a name with no thought behind it at all.” Tina cocked her head to the side and expressed her objection.
“Isn’t it good to have a simple name? Its nickname will be Da Lan!” An Lin clapped his hands together. “This is a new species! We’ve discovered a new species!”
Tina: “…”
The Jade Bone Immortal Bug: “…”
“I feel like… no one is going to accept this name for a new species…” the Jade Bone Immortal Bug complained.
“What other names can Giant An Lin invent aside from use big or little followed by the color of the creature?” Tina shrugged in resignation.
An Lin couldn’t be bothered to speak with these two who were unable to appreciate the beauty of his naming conventions. He turned his eyes up toward the stars in the sky again.
He continued onward in the direction the stars were pointing in.
The emergence of the blue whale was just a small interlude.
However, that was something that would remain in their hearts for a long time.
An Lin couldn’t tell what the whale’s cultivation base was, but he could see the marks left on the whale by the passage of time. That was most likely a whale that had lived in the West Sea for countless years.
Before they knew it, they had crossed over the sea of light.
Their surroundings fell dark again with the exception of the stars and moon in the sky.
An Lin continued onward, and a black shadow finally appeared on the horizon.
“Look! There are a bunch of islands up ahead!”
“Is that the Moving Heavenly Star Island?”
“There’s no mistaking it, that is indeed our destination. I can see the island moving at an extremely slow speed with the passage of time.”
An Lin narrowed his eyes, and his divine sense had been unleashed to the maximum extent in order to survey their surroundings for any possible danger.
As everyone drew closer and closer, the entirety of the Moving Heavenly Star Island was gradually revealed to them.
This was a group of islands made from different sizes and shapes. Each and every one of the islands had vastly different environments. Some of them were lush grasslands, some of them had poison mist drifting over the entirety of the island, some were realms of snow and ice, and some had rivers of molten lava flowing through them.
All of the islands were drastically different from one another, but the one constant was that, regardless of the environments, all of the islands were inhabited by the living beings of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe.
All of these turtles had carefree and leisurely lives, setting at any place they could find and laying down lazily on one of the islands.
It was now deep into the night, and some of them were sleeping, while others were looking up at the stars, as if they wanted to attain some sort of enlightenment through their stargazing.
That wasn’t to say they were profound creatures, most of them were actually just bored…
The average lifespan in the Heavenly Turtle Tribe was over a thousand years. Even though they lived for a very long time, there weren’t that many things they could do. Their lives basically consisted of sunbathing during the day and stargazing at night.
This was the monotonous lifestyle of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe.
They didn’t enjoy battle and conflict, so they whiled away their days and occasionally dabbled in some strange areas of research.
Such as star divination or fortune-telling…
An Lin flew over a series of islands atop his brick and concealed his aura during the process.
The human race wasn’t exactly on good terms with the Heavenly Turtle Tribe.
The Heavenly Turtle Tribe was the enemy of the Eastern Dragon Tribe, and the Eastern Dragon Tribe was quite friendly with the Heavenly Court. As such, even in the Ancient Tai Chu Realm, the human race was considered enemies of the Heavenly Turtle Tribe.
Of course, there wasn’t really any substantial vendetta between humans and the Heavenly Turtle Tribe.
An Lin was only concealing his aura to avoid any unnecessary and unforeseeable trouble.
The Moving Heavenly Star Island was actually a cluster of moving islands, of which there was no end in sight.
An Lin continued toward the central region of the islands.
Generally speaking, all of the bad*ss turtles should be at the central region, so this should be the correct decision.
Soon, a huge green island appeared before them.
Not only were there beaches and forests on this island, but there were also tall mountains, waterfalls, and rivers. Most surprisingly, under the moonlight, there was even a golden rainbow that stretched across the entirety of the island.
At the center of the golden rainbow stood an antiquated bluestone palace.
“Alright, it looks like we’ll be going there first.”
An Lin decided as he looked at the palace.
