I Can't Escape The Baby's Father After Returning Novel - Chapter 86
Chapter 86: Wedding (3)
Melanda took the ring from the bridesmaid and looked at Mike. She said affectionately,
“Mike, you’ve always been a dream since our children. I’ve always wanted to know what it would be like to be loved by you. When I first saw you, when I saw your smile, I had already fallen for you.”
“I remember telling myself that one day, I would marry this boy. One day, I would be his princess. Then today, I woke up and realized that it was today.” She paused, because her voice was choked and she could barely continue.
There were tears in Mike’s eyes too. Everyone present was the same.
“You are my today, and my future. If I had a choice, I would choose you in my next life, and even if I had a hundred lifetimes, I would choose you. I know our journey isn’t perfect, but I will persevere with you to the end.”
She stopped and looked at Mike affectionately.
“I love you, Mike. I’ll give you this ring as a symbol of my love and loyalty. When I place it on your finger, I will be giving you my heart and soul. This ring is a symbol of my love.”
She put the ring on Mike’s finger.
Next, it was the groom’s turn to speak.
He picked up the ring and took Melanda’s hand. His voice quivered slightly.
“Melanda, I still remember how you looked when I first saw you. You were so innocent, so pure, and so cute. I couldn’t help but want to protect you.”
“I’m sorry it took me so long to get to you. You gave me too much and never asked for anything in return. I can’t imagine the pain I’ve caused you over the years. I’ll never understand why you still choose to love me unconditionally. But for that, I’ll always be grateful to you. I promise I’ll cherish you, love you, and protect you until my last breath.”
Melanda sniffed. Mike knew she was trying her best to hold back her tears. He squeezed her hand and continued.
“Thank you for giving me a beautiful and lovely daughter, and this baby that I’m going to see soon. You gave me this world and made me complete. This ring represents my heart. I promise that from today onwards, I’ll always stand by your side and be your haven. My heart will always be yours. The ring doesn’t start or end, and this symbolizes that the love between us will never stop.”
Mike put the ring on Melanda’s finger and kissed her hand.
Then the two turned and stood together to face the priest.
“Are you willing to swear to always share with each other, to be sincere with each other, to respect each other, to take care of each other, to cherish and encourage each other, to never leave each other, whether in sorrow or joy, in good times or bad, in poverty or in wealth?”
The priest asked.
Mike took Melanda’s hand and they said in unison, “1 do!”
“May these rings be blessed as a symbol of your union. May your days be long and together forever. I now pronounce you husband and wife. Now, you may kiss your bride,” the priest announced.
Mike turned around and looked at his beautiful bride excitedly. His hand trembled as he lifted Melanda’s veil. He saw his bride smile at him with tears in her eyes. “Mrs. Jones, I’ve finally waited for you.”
Then, he kissed her affectionately.
Melanda’s tears finally fell. She closed her eyes and felt blissfully dizzy.
If this was a dream, she wanted to never wake up.
The crowd applauded. Everyone looked at the couple who had gone through so much and felt mixed emotions. Millie, who was sitting in the front row, clapped the hardest and the loudest. If it weren’t for her grandmother, she would have rushed to the stage.
Someone picked up a camera to record this exciting moment. At this moment, the sun had risen and the sun was shining behind them. The newlyweds were bathing in the rising sun.
Everyone believed that this was the beginning of beauty and happiness.
God bless them!
