I Can't Escape The Baby's Father After Returning Novel - Chapter 80
Chapter 80: Hannah Came
Just like that, Melanda’s mood slowly improved. She stopped crying and her life slowly returned to normal.
She couldn’t go back to FB in the short term, so after discussing it with Mike, she officially resigned.
She still had to recuperate and welcome her second child. Besides, there was their wedding as well.
After all that had happened, Mike didn’t want to wait.
The two families sat together to confirm the wedding date. Then, Mike started to prepare nervously.
The wedding date was set for two weeks later. Mike didn’t let Melanda worry about anything. She only cared about taking care of herself and the child in her stomach. Melanda’s mother was responsible for taking care of Millie, while Mike and his parents were doing their best to plan the wedding.
Even though time was tight, Mike wanted to do his best to give Melanda a perfect wedding.
Fortunately, Mandy’s parents gave all the resources for her wedding to Mike. The old couple suffered the pain of losing their daughter and son-in-law at the same time, but they still blessed Mike and Melanda. They had watched these two children grow up.
Everything was going on smoothly. On this day, an unexpected guest suddenly came to the house.
“Hannah, why are you here?” Mike looked at his ex girlfriend in front of him and couldn’t help but frown. She wasn’t welcome.
“Honey, I just came back from overseas and heard about you. I wanted to come over and see you immediately. Are you okay?” Hannah’s sweet voice made people have goosebumps.
Melanda came downstairs just in time to see this.
Mike said in disgust, “‘We’ve already broken up. Please pay attention to how you address me.”
Hannah didn’t care. “I was wrong last time. I was too angry because I was jealous, so I said those words. I was wrong, honey. Let’s make up.” She tried to come up and take Mike’s arm.
Mike saw Melanda on the stairs. He said, “Didn’t you hear that I’m getting married soon?”
Following Mike’s gaze, Hannah saw Melanda. Her eyes widened. “Getting married? To who? Not to her, are you?”
“Please be polite to my fiancée.” Mike walked over and hugged Melanda’s waist.
“Also, I made it clear last time. We’re done.”
Hannah refused to give up. “‘But I’m the one for you. We’ve been together for more than two years. We’ve always been happy, haven’t we? You’ve only just gotten together. If it weren’t for her, we wouldn’t have split up.”
Mike said sternly, “No, you’re wrong, Hannah. Melanda and I grew up together. We love each other. I’ve loved her since a long time ago. I didn’t realize my feelings before.”
“So, what about me? If you’ve always loved her, have you ever loved me?” Hannah sounded unhappy.
“At that time, I thought I had lost her. Hannah, think about it. We’re not compatible. I like it quiet and you like it lively. We won’t be happy together.”
Mike helped Melanda sit down on the sofa and walked over to Hannah. “Let go, Hannah. You’re so beautiful. There must be someone better waiting for you.” Hannah snorted through her nose and said nothing more.
Mike continued, “‘Hannah, thank you for the company you’ve given me these past two years, even if it’s not all pleasant memories. Move on from me and you’ll see a long line in front of you. They’re all waiting for you. Find a good guy who’s devoted to you, and you’ll be happier than you were when we were together. That’s the truth, Hannah.”
Hannah let out a long sigh of relief and said, “Okay, Mike, I will. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely find someone better than you. So, goodbye.” She turned to look at Melanda and said slowly, “I’m someone who can afford to let go. I wish you both happiness.”
With that, she turned and left.
Mike breathed a sigh of relief. He walked over to Melanda and squatted down. “Honey, I promise I broke up with her. We ended it before I went after you. I don’t known.”
Melanda put her hand on Mike’s mouth. “Baby, you don’t have to explain. I believe you.”
Mike smiled. What was more precious than the trust of a lover?
Mike’s father walked over. “Thank God, she’s finally gone. My heart has been in my throat. Mike, God knows where you met so many strange ex girlfriends? Fortunately, Melanda is back. Fortunately, it’s Melanda. Otherwise, we don’t know how long we would have had to worry.”
Everyone laughed at his words..
