Chapter 79: Melanda Dreams of Mandy
Mike sat with Melanda in the cemetery for a long time. After crying, Melanda sat in a daze and was brought home by Mike.

At night, the tired Melanda went to bed early and fell asleep.

Mandy burst out laughing. “No, you’re not dead. You’ll live for many, many years and have many children. I was worried and came to see you.”
Melanda looked at Mandy and felt that it was so surreal. “Honey, I can’t bear to leave you. Why was it you? You didn’t do anything wrong. Why did you have to pay?,
Mandy reached out and wiped the tears off her face. “Baby, I can’t bear to leave you either. I wanted to be pregnant at the same time as you and see our children get born and grow up. Your child becoming best friends with my child or lovers has always been our dream.”
Melanda nodded with tears in her eyes. This was their shared dream.
“But, baby, as much as I want to be with you, I can’t live without Dave. I love him. Even though he did something that let me down, and hurt you and Mike, I still love him. I can’t imagine how I can live without him. With him dead, I’m grief-stricken. I don’t have the courage to live on my own.”
“So, honey, I want to go stay with him. I’m going to catch up with him. Do you understand?”
Melanda nodded. She could empathize. If Mike was gone, she would never be able to live alone either.
“So, I’m not sacrificing myself for you guys, but I really don’t want to live anymore. I want to see Dave.”
“But, but you, you and Dave, could have lived well…” Melanda wanted to turn back time and stop this tragedy from happening.
Mandy looked at Melanda. She smiled and shook her head. “‘Baby, don’t think like that. What happened has already happened. It’s like Dave. What he did was wrong. Later, he fell in love with me. Melanda shouted anxiously, “Mandy, Mandy! Where are you? Mandy!”
“Baby, baby, wake up!” A familiar voice suddenly sounded in her ear. Melanda opened her eyes and saw that it was Mike.
So this was just a dream.
“Did you have a nightmare? Look, your forehead is covered in sweat.” Mike took a tissue and carefully wiped her forehead.
Melanda smiled weakly, but it was this weak smile that was precious to Mike. How long had it been since he saw a smile on this innocent face?
“Yes, I dreamed of Mandy. But it wasn’t a nightmare. It was a good dream, a big beautiful dream.”
“Really? What did Mandy say?”
“She said she would always be with me. She didn’t leave. She told me to live a good life and be happy.”

Mike was glad she said that. He hugged her tightly.
