Mike smiled sheepishly. “Maybe. I hope I’m worrying too much. I put a spare phone in your bag for safety purposes. I’m the only contact on that phone.”

“Okay, I’ll remember,” Melanda replied.

Jeffrey was already waiting when they got to the meeting place.

Mike came down and greeted him. “Why are you guys meeting here instead of the office or the construction site. ”

“Hello, Mike. I didn’t expect you, Melanda’s superior, to personally send Miss Melanda off,” Jeffrey teased. “In order to shorten the work time, I want to pick Miss Melanda up here and set off together. ”

Mike looked at him and said word for word, “I’m not Melanda’s superior. Melanda is my fiancée. We’re engaged.”

Jeffrey faced Melanda and said, “Long time no see, Miss Melanda. How are you recovering? Please get in the car.”

Melanda said as she got into the car, “Thank you for your concern. I’m fine now.”

Sitting in the back seat, Melanda folded her hands and kept looking out the window. She was still more or less nervous, but Jeffrey seemed to be focused on driving and nothing was wrong.

The car quickly hit the highway and sped forward.

“I wonder how things are going at the police station,” Melanda thought worriedly.

On the other hand, Mike quickly arrived at Mandy’s house. He picked up Mandy and her parents and headed to the police station together.

Shortly after they arrived, they saw Dave and a man being led into the interrogation room by the police.

That man should be the lawyer Dave had mentioned. Dave glanced at him. He nodded at Dave.
