Chapter 67: That Person Is Dave!
Melanda, who had returned home, had been thinking about this too.
Selina was so annoying. Why was she everywhere?! And what was with Dave? She wondered how Mandy and Dave were doing.
Melanda was a little distraught.
Soon, it was time for school to end. She picked Millie up from the school bus, prepared dinner for her, and watched the cartoon she liked with her for a while.
While they were watching cartoons, Mike returned.
Millie immediately ignored Melanda and clung to Mike. That made sense. Mike had been leaving early and returning late these days. Neither father nor daughter had time to be alone.
Mike went to wash up with Millie and then went to bed to tell a story.
Melanda was in the kitchen cleaning up when her phone rang.
It was an unfamiliar number.
Melanda picked it up. “Hello!”
The voice sounded familiar. “Hello, Melanda. I’m Jeffrey. Do you remember me?”
“Jeffrey?” The name sounded familiar.
“I’m Jeffrey from M Company. We met at FB,” the other pafty explained seriously.
Melanda remembered and said a little embarrassedly, “Hello, Mr. Jeffery. I’m sorry for not remembering you immediately. Perhaps I’ve rested for too long. Why are you looking for me?” Jeffrey said, “I heard you were in a car accident. Are you okay now? I hope you recover soon.” “Thank you, Mr. Jeffery.”

“Honey, guess who we ran into today?”
“You and Mandy? Who did you two bump into?”
‘We were in the café when we ran into Dave and Selina!’
“VVho? Do you mean Selina? That woman?” Mike looked incredulous and frowned. “Why was she with Dave?”
“I don’t know. They said it was for work-related matters,” Melanda replied.
At this moment, Mike’s phone suddenly rang. He picked up the phone and looked at the number. He picked it up with a grave expression. “Hello, Detective. Yes, it’s Mike.”
When Melanda heard that it was the police’s call, she quickly sat up. She pricked up her ears, but she still couldn’t hear clearly. She only heard Mike answer simply, “Yes, okay, I know.” But Mike’s expression became more and more solemn.
