Chapter 56: Single Ladies’ Party Night (1)
Saturday arrived quickly.
Mandy went over early to help Melanda get ready after meeting for lunch. Mike was a little unhappy when he heard it was “ladies’ night.”
But Mandy told him, “I can lend you Dave! You can have ‘man’s night’!”
Okay, but right now, he just wanted to stay by Melanda’s side every day. He didn’t want to go to any “men’s night.” After lunch, he laid in bed and looked at Melanda, who was busy in the washroom. He felt depressed.
“Honey, are you going to change into your bathing suit now?”
“I shouldn’t have let her buy such a sexy bathing suit,” Mike thought.
“No, I’m just trying it on and seeing what makeup to wear while I’m at it. This is Mandy’s territory, after all. I don’t want to steal her thunder, but as her best friend, I can’t embarrass her,” Melanda said as she tried on her clothes.
“Are you sure there’s no man there either?” Mike was still a little worried.
“Of course! I’m sure. It’s a ladies’ night, so of course there’s no man.” Melanda felt that it was really a little funny when men got jealous. He was acting like a child.
“That’s hard to say. Mandy has always been unconstrained and a little unreliable.”
Mandy would probably feel wronged if she heard this. ‘Please, you’re being petty. What has it got to do with me?’
“How about this? I promise that I’ll go home immediately if any man shows up.’
Melanda sat down beside Mike and kissed him. Mike took advantage of the situation and hugged his sexy little girlfriend. The soft touch was so intoxicating.
Melanda continued, “And your party is in a bar, isn’t it? Please stop exuding charm and don’t attract any attention to yourself.”
Melanda was really worried. Bars were messy and the women were all sexy and hot.
Mike smiled and said, “Don’t worry, I won’t look at them. They’re all invisible to me.”
They cuddled for a while longer. After Melanda changed, they went out together. Mike sent Melanda over first, then met up with Dave. He had to ask Millie’s grandma to take care of Millie today.
It was still early when they reached Mandy’s house. Melanda helped Mandy prepare some food and some decorations by the pool.
Just after five o’clock, the girls started to arrive. They were their former classmates and Mandy’s current colleagues and friends.
When she saw that people were coming, Mandy said to Melanda, “Honey, let’s go change.”
The two best friends ducked into Mandy’s room together and started to dress up. With Mandy around, Melanda wouldn’t have to worry about makeup and hair.
Melanda’s new bathing suit was dark purple. The design was simple and classy, but it accentuated her charming feminine figure. She was curvaceous and barely had any fat on her. Although she didn’t have a stick figure, she looked petite, thin and curvy.
Mandy looked Melanda up and down with an appreciative gaze. “Baby, this swimsuit suits you too well. What a sexy Barbie!”
Mandy was wearing a red bathing suit today. It matched her ostentatious and enthusiastic personality and also matched her status as a bride-to-be. Her long curly hair, sexy red lips, and voluptuous breasts made it difficult for anyone to look away.
“You’re actually talking about me?! You’re the one who’s dazzling. You’re the sun, and I’m the moon. My brilliance was borrowed from you!” Melanda teased.
“Oh my, people who are in love are so different. You’re so sweet.” Mandy giggled. “I’m serious, honey. I’m really happy for you. I’m married, and you’ve found happiness too. That way, I’ll be at ease.”
Melanda walked forward and gave her a big hug. “I know. We’ll all be happy. I love you.”
Friendship was more reliable and stable than love, wasn’t it?
Everyone slowly arrived and the party officially started.
It was rare for everyone to be here, so they chatted. Everyone separated and drank together while mentioning interesting things from their studies.
When she was young, she thought that time was slow. Every day, she looked forward to the end of school, school breaks, and holidays. But now, she realized that time passed too quickly. In the blink of an eye, everyone was already at the age of marriage.
Melanda had disappeared for six years. This time, everyone was so happy to see her again that they surrounded her and asked her a lot of questions. They were all surprised to hear that she was engaged to Mike.
“Do you guys remember that person called Jenny?” Someone mentioned the name.
Others might not remember, but Melanda remembered the name vividly. It was the night that Mike found out that Jenny was cheating on him that he slept with Melanda when he was drunk, and that was how Millie came about.
“Jenny? Is that the girl from the night of the graduation party?” someone replied. It seemed like everyone remembered.
‘Yes, she’s Mike’s ex-girlfriend,” The female student who spoke glanced at Melanda, but she couldn’t help but continue.
“Do you know what happened to her after that?”
