Melanda’s POV

No matter how conflicted I was, it was time to start work. I should stop fretting about my love life and focus on work.

I had agreed to meet with Jeffrey at the company today. Leo and I were originally going to their company, but for some reason, he took the initiative to come to our company. I was very nervous. It was very normal for a client to suggest a plan, and I was prepared, but this client clearly had ulterior motives. I didn’t know what would happen.

I went to the office early to prepare. There shouldn’t be any problems with the plan itself. Now, I had to react accordingly.

“Hello, Miss Melanda.” Jeffrey took my hand and refused to let go. He even stroked me with his thumb. It was so gross and I looked embarrassed.

Beside me, Leo saw this and reached out to help me. I gave him a grateful look, but Jeffrey looked unhappy.

“Leo, can you make me a latte? My stomach doesn’t feel well today. I can’t drink black coffee,” Jeffrey said.

Leo glanced at me, and I nodded. It was a reasonable request, so we couldn’t say no. Fortunately, it didn’t take long to brew a cup of coffee.

Just as Leo went out, Jeffrey leaned towards me. He was so close that his face was almost touching mine. I suppressed my disgust and started to introduce the plan.

“This place isn’t right. I didn’t say that I wanted this last time,” Jeffery said with a frown. “Miss Melanda, this isn’t very professional.”

“But, Mr. Jeffery, that’s what we agreed upon last time. We have a meeting record.” I looked unhappy too.

“Oh, really? Could it be that the meeting records are wrong?” He was too close, and his breath almost suffocated me.

“Um… if there’s really no other way, I’ll change this place.” He was the client after all. She had to agree to his request.

“Let’s continue.” I just wanted to finish this quickly.

“Oh no, this place isn’t right either.” Jeffrey seemed to want to control the mouse himself, and his hand was already over mine. I took my hand away in a hurry.

“Please let go,” an angry voice said word for word. I turned my head. It was Mike. He was outside the door and was about to come in.

I took the opportunity to stand up. Mike strode over and stood behind me.

“Who are you?” Jeffrey said while raising his eyebrows.

“This is our design department’s director, Mike. This is MJ’s Mr. Jeffrey,” I quickly introduced.

“Oh, you’re Mike,” Jeffrey said arrogantly when he heard that he was from the design department. He thought that Mike probably wouldn’t do anything to him.

“Mr. Jeffery, please be mindful of your words and actions, and show some respect to my colleagues.” Mike didn’t seem to want to let the matter slide.

“What have I done? If you say that, I can sue you for defamation.” This guy wouldn’t admit it.

“There’s surveillance in this room. Sexual harassment always destroys one’s reputation and makes it impossible for one to survive in the industry,” Mike said fiercely. I had never seen him use such a tone before.

“You dare to?! FB won’t forgive you if you lose this deal.” Jeffery looked even lewder at this moment, but he was right. He would be held accountable if they lost this client. At the thought of this, I pulled Mike’s shirt. Mike looked back at me and said to me, “Don’t worry, I know what to do.”

“Oh, really? Then we can try, Mr. Jeffrey.” Mike’s tone was firm, and he didn’t seem worried.

“Hmph, we’ll see!” Jeffrey left angrily.

“Boss, nice job!” Leo had returned.

Mike smiled and said, “Melanda, you don’t have to worry. The more tolerant you are, the more he’ll push his luck. You have to be brave.”

“But this is the first deal I got since I joined the company. I don’t want to mess it up,” I said worriedly.

“It’s okay. No matter what happens, I’m here for you. I’m your boss. Besides, a person like him won’t dare to make a big deal out of it. Even if he does, I don’t want such a client!”
