I Became a Demon Hunter in the Game - Chapter 96
Chapter 96 – Antiques
Ed turned to Juan and threw the crystal skull he was holding in his hand upwards and asked.
“What is this thing?”
-One of the ancient relics. Not all ancient relics are good, but if you leave them alone and tie up the spirits around you and handle the spirits properly, it’s not good. But it’s the first time I’ve seen it, so I’m not sure.
“Is that such a great thing?”
-I’ve only heard of it, but I said it’s just a decoration if you’re not a necromancer. If I had gotten it while I was alive, I wouldn’t have had enemies among the higher demons. I was surprised to see that it was a great thing.
Juan continued to look at it as he was surprised to see that it was an amazing thing.
– But someone who can handle the power of a spirit will not be able to cross five fingers even if he searches all over the continent.
“I didn’t know there were so few necromancers.”
-Wait.
Juan approached and looked at the crystal skull and opened his mouth.
– But if I had left this alone, the spirits would gather and it would become a great thing. There’s a recipe for creating a command colony.
“What is a spirit colony?”
– You can think of it as gathering spirits and evolving them. The power is not certain. With one of those, without a proper priest or paladin, it could wipe out a city at once. It gets stronger as it catches and eats spirits. If there are a large number of demons that do not work with any attack, it will not be easy to deal with them. If left alone, the demonic cluster that gathered the spirits in the vicinity would have attacked the city within a few days.
Ed and Arin are in the city, so they would have dealt with it easily. But fortunately, he found it with his deep eyes and shot and killed it before the command colony was completed.
– But how did you catch it?
“Shoot with a bow.”
It was the power achieved by the two castle relics. Juan put his hand on the crystal skull and said
– I’ll be able to erase the spell. And with this, Diego will be much stronger. It seems that the enemies still do not fully understand our power.
“If Arin, a paladin, stood up, she would be able to blow away even a group of commanders in one shot. Either way, the crystal skull was destined for us to get our hands on.”
– Ask Diego.
“Yes?”
Ed was about to ask what he meant, but Juan’s body began to glow. An invisible spell was revealed while the crystal skull crackled his mouth. And the magic gradually turned into light and began to disappear. And when the magic trick disappeared, Juan’s body gradually became cloudy and disappeared.
“Brother…”
Diego’s voice seemed to be getting slower and slower, and when he turned his head, Diego was collapsing on the floor. Ed supported Diego like that. Diego couldn’t stand it because Juan was using too much force.
Ed looked back at Diego and Skull Mountain, which had fallen for a moment. Then he found an undecomposed corpse next to Skull Mountain.
Seeing that the clothes he was wearing were luxurious, Ed thought that maybe that was the real Farrell’s body. He had come to retrieve the body, so he had to take both Diego and the body.
Ed took off his cloak, wrapped the corpse well, tied it up, and tied it behind his back. Then he returned to Dark with Diego wrapped around his waist. As expected, Tom was gone.
Ed climbed into Dark, laid Diego down in front of him, placed Farrell’s body behind him, and returned to the village.
He doesn’t know if it was left by Ragrox or Nef Sael, but the magic they left behind has been removed, so now he just needs to write the crystal skull well.
Ed returned to the city and was immediately guided to the introspection. At the entrance to the introspection, Mrs. Colin and Henna were already there. He got off his horse and lowered the body he had brought from behind Dark. He untied his cloak and laid it down in front of the introspection.
“There was a place on the mountain where many skeletons were gathered. Among the remains, I found the most likely.”
Seeing the body lying on the cloak, Mrs. Colin walked cautiously. When she came and saw the clothes, her legs loosened and she stumbled. Then henna supported her.
Ed stepped back, and Mrs. Colin, supported by henna, came and sat down beside the body. She couldn’t even shout, and tears were streaming down from Madame Colin’s eyes.
Not paying attention to the stench of Farrell’s body, she reached out and placed her hand on the chest. And she sobbed silently as she embraced the body.
Shaking her shoulders and sobbing, she could not hold on for long and passed out hugging the body.
As she hugged the corpse and passed out, she thought she was not aristocratic. She thought they were the ones who mercilessly killed her brothers and children for the sake of the title, but she was deeply grieved at the death of her children.
Henna beckoned as she fell. When the maids and attendants who had followed her inward cling to each other, Henna left the mother to them and stood up. As her attendants retrieved Farrell’s body, Henna approached and placed her hand on her chest, and bowed her head politely. She said,
“Thank you. I think my mother can accept the facts now.”
“Really?”
“I honestly didn’t believe in my brother’s death.”
How many people can immediately accept the death of their family?
“Are you okay?”
Mrs. Colin isn’t the only one who lost a family. At Ed’s question, Henna smiled sadly.
“My relationship with my brother wasn’t bad. But from the moment I saw those eyes, I believed that he was already dead, so seeing his body makes me feel fortunate to be able to have a funeral.”
Henna looked at Diego in front of the saddle and asked.
“Is your party okay?”
“It’s exhausting, so I’m going to get up tomorrow. Then I’ll go inside too.”
Ed grabbed his cloak and put Diego over his shoulder and went inside his ward. Diego tossed in Thein’s room and Ed briefly washed up before heading to Colin’s room with Arin.
Arin was praying and feeling his presence, she opened her eyes.
“Did anything go wrong?”
“Thanks to Diego, I found it easily, met the demons but was able to defeat them without difficulty.”
That’s good.”
Arin smiled and closed her eyes again. As she watched while praying, she sat down and pulled out the crystal skull. She would give it to Diego, but she took it herself because now Diego is also stunned.
Ed glanced at the crystal skull.
Antiquities.
Even in Age of the first Devil, it only appeared as a passing story, and no ancient artifacts actually appeared. So, it’s one of those things that were only called antiques.
Ed remembered the antiques, but when he came here, he didn’t even see the ancient relics, let alone hear the rumors. So he only found artifacts and castle relics.
However, ancient artifacts have emerged now. He doesn’t know what kind of great demon was inside it, but he told the necromancer that it was useful, so he’s going to give it to Diego.
Ed looked at the crystal skull silently.
A skull that fits in the palm of your hand. Maybe it’s not a real skeleton?
When Diego opened his eyes, he turned his head and was startled to see Emma dozing with her head resting next to his bed.
He was obviously dealing with the demons with Ed and wondered what was going on. Then the door opened and Ed entered.
“Are you awake?”
“Yes. But why is Emma here?”
“I’m here to be worried because you can’t get up. Can you see over there?”
Emma said she was nursing, but she wasn’t the only one. Diego then turned his gaze and met Brandt, who was looking at him with his arms crossed.
“Since when have I been here?”
“From last night. How about your body?”
“Okay.”
“So that’s it,” Brandt said so, and placed a hand on Emma’s shoulder. Emma, trembling in surprise, lifted her head and smiled bitterly when she saw the people gathered around her.
“Are you asleep?”
Brandt said to her, giving her a heavy nod of the head.
“Go and have a quick wash. Diego is fine.”
Emma’s gaze turned to Diego.
“Are you really okay?”
Diego grinned at that.
“It’s fine. Thank you for taking care of me.”
Emma stood up as she smiled at the face at those words.
“See you later, then.”
As Emma left, Brandt followed her out and looked at Diego. Diego shrugged his shoulders for nothing because his eyes wanted to watch over, turned to look at Ed as he left.
“Did you find the body?”
“Yeah. I found it and gave it to them. Thanks to you,”
Ed said, then took the crystal skull out of his chest and threw it. When Diego accepted it, Thein, who was quietly rummaging through the demon catalog next to him, showed interest.
“What is that?”
“As Juan explained, it is said to be an ancient relic, a crystal skull. They say it is a valuable item for a necromancer, right?”
“Ancient artifacts?”
Thein came over and looked at the crystal skull in Diego’s hand, wondering if he was interested in the words too. Diego handed the crystal skull to Thein with those eyes. Thein looked back and forth with the crystal skull in his hand.
“Most of the things about ancient relics are handed down only as legends. This is the first time I’ve actually seen them.”
“Do you know anything about the Crystal Skull?”
“No. I haven’t heard of anything. Perhaps this may be the first time that it has fallen into the hands of people. “
Juan knows but Thein doesn’t? Ed wondered if it was something passed down orally among demons.
“Anyway, it’s good for a necromancer, so it’s yours.”
“Is that okay?”
“Of course. And yesterday was also thanks to you,” said Diego, licking his lips.
He was able to see the spirits by getting the spirit inside, but Ed was still grasping the spirit’s movements without it. Even if he didn’t have the confidence, he would have been able to solve the job without difficulty. However, he does not refuse his favor.
But don’t turn down the favor, take it and get strong quickly and pay it back later.
“I’ll use it well.”
Ed patted Diego’s hair and leaves the room. He walked down the hallway of the introspection towards Prince Colin’s room.
He saw people running on horseback. If you even hold a flag, it means you are a nobleman.
Ed wondered why they were here, but he went to Arin’s room, because it’s not his business.
But Mrs. Colin and Henna were there. Mrs. Colin and Hannah, who had been sulky overnight, were the first to say hello, so Ed asked,
“What are you doing in the morning?”
“I’m here to ask when my husband can wake up,”
Arin replied after looking at Lord Colin for a moment.
“It should be this evening or so. What’s going on?”
“The messenger sent by Prince Pelman has arrived. That’s why.”
The messengers sent by Prince Pelman who was crowned?
Ed looked at Colin for a moment. Did he come here to receive soldiers to block the troops sent by the Kingdom of Travia?
He didn’t care whether he was crowned or established a kingdom, but if it was related to the devil, it’s a different story.
“Who is supposed to act in the absence of Prince Colin?”
“Originally, it’s Farrel, but now there’s no Farrel, so I’m going to have to act.”
Ed nodded his head upon hearing that.
“Can we be there too?”
Mrs. Colin’s face brightened.
