I Am A Prodigy - Chapter 538
Chapter 538 Everyone Felt Wronged!
If they doubted their hearing on the first statement, then the second statement was like a bomb being dropped on them, thoroughly blowing them away.
Insolent!
Ignorant!
Brazen!
Although rumors about him were plentiful, and he made quite the achievements recently, nobody there witnessed it with their own eyes. Moreover, for a martial artist like him to be a celebrity made many of them look down on him. It was hard for them not to underestimate him.
That was Ye Lingchen’s first day at the Warrior’s Department. Although they planned to rough him up a little, they never expected Ye Lingchen to be that ignorantly blunt.
“You’re quite boastful!” Brother Tiger and Rhino frowned at the same time. Their gazes locked onto Ye Lingchen with malice, as they growled, “Since both of us are unacceptable to you, why don’t you give us a demonstration? It’ll also convince our brothers!”
“I’m not interested.”
Ye Lingchen shook his head. “I can’t be bothered with this childish thing.”
With that, he ignored the angry faces and continued browsing elsewhere.
Faced with glares around them, Lin Ao was blushing. He lowered his head and stayed by Ye Lingchen’s side. He was not as thick-skinned as Ye Lingchen. With that many pairs of watchful eyes, he felt a little overwhelmed.
Very soon, Ye Lingchen arrived at another training grounds that used electric therapy.
“Brother Ye, the electric shocks can spread throughout one’s body and improve the cellular activity of the body. It can also help tone the muscles and improve explosive strength,” [1]Lin Ao explained.
“It’s only at 500 volts?” Ye Lingchen looked at the figure and shook his head. “This is too weak. With such a low voltage, what use is it?”
Those who were receiving electric therapy immediately stopped and shifted their attention to Ye Lingchen.
“Hey, our highest record is at 1,100 volts. Would you like to try?” growled one of them.
“1,100 volts?” Ye Lingchen was taken aback. “The highest record is that low? It’s much weaker than I imagined.”
“F*ck! Don’t just make empty claims. Why don’t you give it a try yourself?”
“That’s right! What’s the point of making empty claims? Even 100 volts will probably leave you paralyzed, much less 1,100 volts!”
“What’s wrong with him, Lin Ao? Say something!”
The martial artists doing weights and electro-therapy were enraged. If not for the ban on fights, they would have long started one with Ye Lingchen.
“Brother Ye, let’s stay low, shall we? Just stop talking.” Lin Ao quietly tugged at Ye Lingchen and begged him discreetly.
Ye Lingchen shot a glance at him, then at the other martial artists. His lips curled upwards. “Give that a try? Such a childish toy, I can’t even be bothered to look at it.”
Having said that, he strode off calmly once more.
Next was the running zone. Martial artists were running on track machines, their legs moving at high speed. On the side was a meter recording their sprinting speed.
Lin Ao’s heart skipped a beat. Before he could even speak out, Ye Lingchen was already making a statement.
“Not even reaching 60 miles. This is just too slow.”
After that, it was the breath training zone.
“Only nine minutes? Your lung capacity is too shabby.”
Attack speed training zone.
“Only five punches in a second? Hehe, I wonder how you guys manage to punch so slowly. Are you dancing?”
Sight training zone.
…
Within 10 minutes, Ye Lingchen had successfully provoked all the martial artists, resulting in a few hundred martial artists following behind him, watching him with ferocious glares.
What pissed them off the most was that Ye Lingchen had mocked everyone and did nothing, merely making diatribes against them.
They, too, could resort to diatribes. However, they quickly realized that despite their numbers, they were no match for Ye Lingchen. After a few heated exchanges with Ye Lingchen, they were utterly embarrassed and speechless.
They were no match for him physically and verbally. All they could do at that moment was glare at Ye Lingchen and guilt his conscience.
“Hahaha, what an interesting little guy.”
In one of the buildings of the Warrior’s department, a group of elders was seated in the surveillance room. They were laughing uncontrollably as they watched the scene unfold.
“I’ve told you that it’s unrealistic to rough this kid up.” Laughing with them was Lin Ao’s grandfather, Lin Tianxiong.
“They failed to rough him up and had their feathers ruffled by him instead. Interesting.”
“That’s not all. Most importantly, he had not taken any action. None of his abilities were shown. That group of martial artists are quite useless.”
“Why do I feel that this guy seems a little unreliable? That ability to provoke everyone is quite surprising.”
“Now that he has offended most of the martial artists from the four special training camps, I wonder how he will settle the grudge.”
“Old Man Lin, you’ve met him before. How strong is he?” one of them asked Lin Tianxiong.
“I have no idea exactly how strong he is. However, according to my grandchildren’s description, he has most likely reached the level of inner force!”
“If that’s the case, then his merits are definitely authentic.” Ye Lingchen’s achievements were only achievable by an inner force martial artist.
Meanwhile, Lin Ao continued to lead Ye Lingchen around for the tour.
Gathering zone.
Meeting rooms.
Rest area.
Last but not least, challenge hall.
“Ye Lingchen, aren’t you super amazing? I challenge you!” Finally holding in to that point, some of the martial artists behind him eagerly shouted his challenge.
“That’s right. I want to challenge you as well!”
“Fight me if you’re a man!”
The reason they followed him all the while was to challenge Ye Lingchen in the challenge hall for revenge!
Ye Lingchen swept a glance over them, his gaze calculative. He placed his hands behind his back in an unfathomable fashion, smiling. “Those who want to challenge me, please step forward.”
“Me!” Over 20 people stepped forward, looking straight at Ye Lingchen with battlelust in their eyes.
“Very well!” Ye Lingchen nodded. “State your positions.”
The 20 over people frowned immediately, then announced their background. The one with the highest position was only a Middle-Class Warrior.
“What gives you the right to challenge me?” Ye Lingchen took out his Upper-Class Warrior ID. “Look at this. Answer me clearly, how should you address me?”
Their expressions turned ugly, greeting him unwillingly, “Sir!”
“So you know I’m your superior. What was that attitude earlier!?” Ye Lingchen put on a stern expression. “Now all of you shout 10 times and say Sir, I was wrong!”
The crowd was speechless.
“You’re unwilling?”
“Sir, I was wrong!”
“Sir, I was wrong!”
…
Everyone felt wronged!
