Chapter 11: Chapter 11 Really Embarrassing
Editor: Inschain
Qiao Yun drooped her eyelids and didn’t look at him, her overly long eyelashes hiding the expression in her eyes.
Lu Jingzhi opened his mouth, his voice sounding a bit unnatural, “Not used to it, huh? It’s okay, take it slow.”
Qiao Yun tilted her head, distractedly muttering “Hmm.”
Lu Jingzhi then thought that Qiao Yun was afraid of him, he had indeed been a bit too stern sometimes.
Thinking of this, he felt somewhat distressed, how could he get closer to Qiao Yun?
“Qiaoqiao, give me the cup.”
Su Mian, coming out of the kitchen and seeing the siblings frozen on the stairs, took the initiative to take the cup and naturally reached out to tousle Qiao Yun’s head.
“Alright, go and rest.”
Qiao Yun obediently nodded and climbed the stairs.
Lu Jingzhi stared at his mother’s hand for a good while before unwillingly saying, “How come you get to touch her.”
Su Mian proudly said, “Because I adore Qiaoqiao.”
“I adore her too, just didn’t show it,” Lu Jingzhi complained.
Su Mian had to remind him.
“Look at your attitude towards Qiaoqiao and how it is towards Tingting, both are your sisters, you shouldn’t treat them differently.”
“When did I treat them differently? I did not,” Lu Jingzhi denied.
“You did treat them differently, keep this up and be careful if Qiaoqiao never calls you brother again.”
Su Mian, tired of arguing with her foolish son, turned around and went back to the kitchen.
Lu Jingzhi stood in place for quite a while, wearily sighing. In this family, only Lu Ting truly understood his good intentions.
…
In the bedroom.
Su Mian stared at the skincare cream in her hand for a long time before deeply inhaling and scraping a bit out.
A fragrant scent wafted out, actually quite pleasant.
It took a great deal of courage for her to apply it to her face.
Once it was on her face, the texture was refreshing and not sticky at all.
Su Mian was slightly surprised about the experience, and she massaged her face as she walked out of the bathroom.
“Old Lu.”
Lu Rui, with his sharp eyes fixated on the bedside, turned his head upon hearing her.
Wow!
Seeing Su Mian’s face green, he almost blurted out, “Who is this fairy?”
Lu Rui composed himself and said, “You actually used it, weren’t you afraid of an allergy? Aren’t you the sensitive type?”
He and Su Mian were childhood sweethearts who grew up together, fell in love, and got married. He knew every issue with her health.
Su Mian glared at him, “You don’t understand, this is a gift from my daughter. What if she asks how I felt after using it? Of course, I have to use it first to know what to say.”
Lu Rui shook his head and chuckled, “You’re really going all out for your daughter.”
Su Mian glanced at the bedside, laughed and said, “Look who’s talking, aren’t you the one who hung up the picture in such a conspicuous place, yo, isn’t this the Lu I know who hates fakes?”
Lu Rui coughed, “Even though it’s a fake, it’s still the first gift my daughter gave me, it’s her way of signaling friendliness to us.”
Su Mian inspected it closely and hesitated, “How come it looks so real to me?”
Lu Rui emphatically denied, “Impossible, Master Qiao An has retired from painting, even with money you can’t buy one, let alone that Qiaoqiao just came from the countryside, how could she afford it.”
Su Mian found her own thoughts ludicrous, and seeing it was about time, turned back into the bathroom to wash her face.
Lu Rui continued to look at the painting for a while, when suddenly a scream erupted.
“Ah!!!”
Lu Rui jumped, quickly walking towards the bathroom.
“What’s wrong? Allergic reaction? Let’s go to the hospital quickly, otherwise you’ll really ruin your face.”
