Growing Fond of You, Mr Nian Novel - Chapter 260
Chapter 260: Tell me truthfully, you haven’t forgotten Yi Jingxi, have you?
Zhou Yanfeng heaved a sigh of relief, suddenly feeling fortunate that he had poured that glass of wine upon himself. Had he not done so, the consequences would have been more severe. In Xia City, once Nian Junting gave the order to cut ties with you, it would be impossible to survive. As long as one did not get on his bad side, he would still take care of you like a brother. He wasn’t a bad guy.
Kashiwa’s face was ashen grey, his lips trembled as he laughed bitterly, “Master Nian, Yi Jingxi has helped me many times before, I cannot possibly betray a friend like him. He has reasons for his actions. I heard that he is only doing this to the Xu family to give them a taste of their own medicine.”
“What’s that mean?” Luo Sang inquired.
“I’m not too sure.”
Kashiwa explained, “But I think your father was involved in the death of Yi Jingxi’s father.”
“Bullshit, my father is an honorable man,” Luo Sang clenched her fists in anger.
“Would a parent tell his children about everything he’s done? A parent would always want to maintain a perfect image,” Kashiwa sighed.
Luo Sang was lost for words.
For a split second, she started to doubt her father, but she immediately erased the doubts from her mind. Other people could doubt her father, but she could not as a daughter.
It was just that she did not even know the truth the day her father was arrested. It looked like she had to make a trip back to the prison to ask him some questions.
“In that case… it was all part of the plan from the start when Yi Jingxi got close to me?” Luo Sang asked softly.
“Mm… it seems to be that way,” Kashiwa said as tactfully as he could.
Luo Sang was dazed. Although it was in the past, he had still been her first love, the first person she had ever liked so much. It had been all an act, put up by someone she had once loved dearly, she was the only one who didn’t know that she had been part of the show.
“But I think he did eventually grow to like you too, he was just too consumed by vengeance…”
“Shut up,” Nian Junting stopped him, “Get lost.”
“Alright, Master Nian, rest assured, I will never interfere in matters regarding Yi Jingxi again,” Kashiwa pulled himself to his feet with a gaze like that of a wolf, before limping away.
In the private room, Zhou Yanfeng and the others saw that Nian Junting was in a bad mood and did not dare to make too much noise. They cursed at Kashiwa silently in their hearts for bringing up the matter of Yi Jingxi falling for Luo Sang, he should have known that it was Nian Junting’s peeve.
“Master Nian, it’s suddenly come to mind that I have some things to settle at work, I’ll… I’ll make a move first,” Zhou Yanfeng lifted Yuan Xiaoshu to her feet, and they began to leave.
“Hey, wait for me, I have some things to discuss with you,” Xiao Si followed closely behind him.
Suddenly, the private room fell quiet. Only two of them remained.
“Why did you do that? You scared everyone away,” Luo Sang mustered what energy she could and shot him a blaming glance. She sat down, saying, “How fragrant, this dish looks really tasty.”
Nian Junting did not move a muscle, he just stared at her coldly.
Luo Sang felt the hairs on her skin rise. She picked up a piece of beef with her chopsticks and brought it to his mouth.
“I’m not eating,” Nian Junting lowered his gaze, glaring at her. “Luo Sang, tell me truthfully, you haven’t forgotten Yi Jingxi, have you?”
“Of course not, he is my nemesis.”
“I don’t mean it that way. I’m asking if you still like him.” For some reason, ever since he found out that she was engaged to Yi Jingxi before, there had been a gnawing feeling deep in a corner of his chest.
He always thought that he was the first man she loved.
Not so, apparently.
He wanted to grab hold of the man she had once loved and beat him up after cutting his hands off.
Who was Yi Jingxi to compare with him?
