Growing Fond of You, Mr Nian Novel - Chapter 1235
Chapter 1235: Miss. Nian, This Flower Is From Mr. Jiang
Nian Xi wasn’t expecting to see Uncle Han. She thought Jiang Yuning was with him, but as she looked behind Uncle Han, she saw no one. Instead, she noticed Uncle Han holding a potted plant.
The plant wasn’t big but was full of blossoms. White, green, pink, red, yellow, purple, all kinds of colors.
“Wow, so pretty. Are these daisies?” Fan Yi was the first to be attracted by the flowers.
“Yes.” Uncle Han nodded.
Nian Xi spent a few seconds looking at the flowers, then asked, “How can daisies have so many colors? And so many colors on only one plant?”
“Yeah.” Fang Qi came over and said, “I’ve never seen such colorful daisies.”
Uncle Han smiled and said, “This is a new kind of daisy. Mr. Jiang’s father spent five years cultivating it. You can’t find them on the market.”
“Oh.” His words reminded Fang Qi. “I almost forgot that Professor Jiang’s father is a biologist. I still remember the watermelon that we had last time.”
“You can have some watermelons next summer when Mr. Jiang gives them to Miss Nian,” said Uncle Han politely.
“Thank you very much.” Fang Qi wanted to cry. He once protected Jiang Yuning, yet, he could only have some of Nian Xi’s watermelons.
“Miss Nian, Mr. Jiang asked me to bring the flowers to you.” Uncle Han handed the daisies to Nian Xi and said, “His butler from Beijing delivered this overnight.”
Nian Xi felt flattered. She carefully took over the daisies and murmured, “Isn’t this a little too precious? Has Yuning’s father cultivated a lot of these? Will he be unhappy these were given to me if these kinds of daisies are rare?”
An awkward look flashed across Uncle Han’s eyes, but still, he said, “No. Don’t worry. Just take it, cherish it, and don’t let it die. I heard that a floriculture lover once offered three million for this type of daisy, but Mr. Jiang’s father refused to sell it.”
“Three million?” Fang Qi looked at Nian Xi with jealousy. “Xi, Professor Jiang is so generous.”
Holding the potted plant, Nian Xi’s hands were shaking. She felt so touched but also wanted to cry. “But uncle Han,” she said. “I don’t know how to look after plants. This plant is so precious. I’m worried that I might fail to take good care of it. Can’t you tell your Mr. Jiang to just give me some normal plants? The kind that costs only about a hundred yuan?”
“Mr. Jiang said that he has to give you special flowers,” Uncle Han said helplessly. “I can’t change his mind. Actually, it’s easy to take care of. All you need is light, water, fertilizer, and to keep it from diseases and injurious insects.”
That sounded complicated.
“If you really don’t know how to do it, ask Mr. Jiang to look after it. He’ll do whatever you say anyway.” Uncle Han said at last, “I have delivered the flowers, so I am now leaving. Call Mr. Jiang if there are any questions.”
After Uncle Han left, people who shared the office with Nian Xi came over to take pictures of the potted flower. They called it a miracle.
Half an hour later, the director came over, looked at the plant, and clicked his tongue with surprise.
As his subordinate, Nian Xi felt under pressure.
After the director left, Nian Xi finally had a chance to call Jiang Yuning.
“Why did you send me such a precious plant?”
“Do you like it?” Jiang Yuning sounded happy. “Flowers for you can’t be ordinary.”
Nian Xi was touched. It was the first time someone put so much thought into her. “It’s pretty,” she said. “But if your father knew you gave me the daisies that he cultivated, would he want to kill you?”
“No.” Jiang Yuning didn’t seem to care. “He has a lily of the valley plant, with blossoms of seven or eight colors. It’s pretty too, but sadly, it’s planted in the earth. Otherwise, I’d have given you that.”
